I play a Pale Master/Wizard, and I've been wondering that if its possible to get wings on him? Not regular wings though, but Skeleton wings that would go with his Arm and overall class as a Pale Master.

I know this would require 50 DCs in my pocket and probably a really good RP reason, but would it require anything else? More DCs or what?

Well first, is there even a skeleton skin for wings you can put on characters, because I've never seen it?

There are no skeleton wings.

Alright, but is there a way to create and implement them into the game?

With a hak, maybe, but Amia is never going to have any haks. You are, therefore, out of luck. Sorry!

Could always go with white dragon wings? Actually, not sure if those are available from 1.69?

But if they are, then go with them. Boney-scaley lookin'.

Ya, I'm Tract =D
Anyways, that sounds like a good Idea!
White, so I'll keep that in mind when I get 50 DCs.
Time to brew up a Good RP reason now. :D

Not true at all.

Most people waste DC's on stupid things like levels.

I know personally i burnt 10DC's on one Kobold who i never play anymore and that was the last time i used a DC on a level.

Quite.

If I saved my DCs rather than use them for leveling, I would have a decent amount.

I mean, I play at Amia ever since October 2005. >.>

Out of the 1987 player accounts ever to receive a DC with the current DC system (including the old item DCs transferred over, which has been done only for the players who have played after the system was put in), 581 got at least 10 DCs. 596 of them got 1 DC, exactly. That leaves 810 accounts between 1 and 10 DCs. (The two latter numbers also represent the accounts from which players transferred DCs to other accounts, as is explained below)

There's every single alt account and people who didn't stay for a very long time counted in.

In the past week there was 367 active accounts, which I'd estimate makes about 200 regular players, given many have double accounts and there's a lot of new people, as well.

Mind that there's a difference between a player and an account. A player can have multiple accounts and often has, skewing the numbers a bit. Also, when a player requests combining of the DCs on his or her multiple alt accounts, the total number of DCs received is reset to zero (and goes up again when they receive a DC on the alt account). So, the 581 DCs may be closer to the amount of players who got over 10 DCs than the number of accounts. I say may, because I don't know for sure just how many have combined their accounts, but I do know that many of our regular players have done it.

Anyway, that's some statistics. I did a headcount before, can't remember the results, but I'd guess it's about the same number of regular players each week, maybe a bit more now that we got more space. The number of players who got more than 10 DCs would appear to be higher than the number of regular players, though.

With 'regular player' I'm thinking of someone who's been here for more than 2 months, maybe has been away for periods as well, but has stuck around nonetheless. There may be more than 200 individual players who meet that criteria, but it'd be a pain to count them all for this. I'm focusing on those regulars active in the past week. The number seems to stay about the same, though the individuals may be on breaks or whatever.

It's indeed correct that "most people will never see more than 10 DCs", but I see no reason for "most people" to meet that number, if "most people" are random accounts logging in to test the server, or staying around for only a little while. However, "most people", of those who do stick around have good chances of getting more than 10 DCs, if we look at the statistics. How it goes for the individuals, of course, differs a bit.

Now that we got the statistics out of the way, I'd recommend the white wings for "bone wings". Closest match. And welcome, new player! Or not so new, now that I look at the joining date... Alas! :D

You for sure have made me feel so much better! haha Thanks to!
Well I am sort of new here, about two months, and I plan on staying.
Also don't plan on spending coins for levels, so maybe it will be easier to get to 50? I've accumulated 2 so far.. *Fingers crossed* Lets hope for a fast next 48!

Ugh. You know Cor'avel? I put 125~ DCs into him on levels. Do you have any idea how stupid that makes you feel?

Incidentally, if I intimidate some of you DMs, do you think you might consider even a small percentage of a refund, if I give up his levels? :D

Keep your DC stats to yourself, please (as well as your pitiful brown-nosing attempts :P). It's honestly this type of stuff that gets everyone else in a uproar. "WTF HE GOT 125 DCS on just one char!!!"

Think about how posting this might affect others (including the DM's that have to field the people mentioned in the first sentance) instead of posting how you wasted 125 DC's on leveling.

Seriously. Just keep your DC count to yourself, folks.

Regards,

Is there any chance we could get a graph of the DCs, like how many people received one, how many two etc? It would just be interesting to see how this is skewed.

Personally, I've found that if you constantly RP, and use your DC Wand you will get DCs, regardless of timezone.

Such charts don't really say a lot, because they may be alts or accounts or people who only stayed for one day, or they may have transferred the DCs on other accounts. There's a ton of accounts moved into the archive vault and new accounts created each month. To put the amount of these accounts into perspective, there's over 43 000 accounts in the vault right now. In theory, each one of those could have that 1 DC or 2 DCs. Imagine how that'd skew the numbers, if they were also in the lists (only a part of them are included, because most of those accounts haven't been used in more than 3 years).

The interesting part is the amount of regular players and the median amount of DCs on their accounts. Disco could probably figure out how to pull that from the DB without brain seizure.

But yeah, that's for another topic... I have a bit of a fetish for statistics, and since I got the numbers I cannot resist correcting popular misconceptions, if the numbers speak against them. :D

I want to wish the OP some good luck. He is doing it right. He has a goal and is willing to work towards it instead of complaining about the system. I really hope one day you can get those sweet wings on your character!

My only advice is don't give up or burn DCs for silly stuff like levels or gold. EXP and GP are the easiest things to get, don't lose faith.

Thanks man! :D
And I'll be sure not to waste them on things such as that.
I don't even got a problem with the DC system either, I think its brilliant!

If you're worrying about the DCs you have, there's clearly something horribly wrong going on.

They are treats, they are not the purpose.

RP for the fun and involvement of others and they will come.

I can't ignore a challenge, of course.

http://www.amiaworld.net/about/dcs.php

Top 50 in both categories, counted since Jan 01. I filtered out DM income, inventory cleanups, and that sorta stuff. There's a few artifacts in the list, saw coins being given (back) in Area51 etc. Can't compensate for all of that so don't throw a fit when you see some strange figures.

My bet is that some of the high time PCs that don't get any coins are DMs, btw.

Anyway, can't say the list is very surprising.

im so tired of people bitching and whining about dcs and how they do not get enough

flat out. roleplay! use your fucking wands for petes sakes, its what they are there for. If you arent getting dcs, mabye your rp is shit

or mabye the dms are busy trying to cater to the other 64 players on the server. get over yourselves and rp

youll be surprised just how many you get

that being said, its never wrong to dream of something, it might not happen but its better to try and be denied then to have never tried at all

[/end rant]

Well, it was implied, along with an opinion stated as a fact. My advice is to present opinions as opinions and only speak of facts when there's some proof to support the claim. There may be people with some hard numbers, and they aren't afraid to present them when needed. :P

I think I'll stick with the wings! lol

no worries mate, if i had a nickle for everytime someone told me id fail, not only would i be rich but id have a lot to show for it. The worst after all that can happen is a dm saying "no"
