I keep hearing that joining a faction is a sure-fire route to finding rp, so needless to say I've been thinking about trying to find one to join on my main character.

I was just wondering if there was a list somewhere of the currently active factions? (excluding any secret ones of course)

I realize this is something I may have to look into ICly but I figured it couldn't hurt to try and get a general idea from the forums first.

best way is to just find out through rp IG and ICly.

If the priest of Ilmater is your main, the Triadic Knights wait for you.

Are there any factions a Lathanderite paladin can join?

A Lathanderite paladin should, by all rights, be sworn to the church of Lathander. It's very unorganized and small on Amia (but larger and more organized on Khem), and there's not much of a PC faction there, though. So it won't serve your needs of player interaction, but it would be cool if there were some dedicated players who wanted to take that church/faction and make it active.

I actually haven't really been playing my name-sake character for awhile now... which is sad considering I would be relatively easy to find a faction for him (Triadic Knights).

For the last while my main character has been my half-drow, who I've found doesn't really fit into any of the archetypes for the factions I have encountered.

That's why I was hoping to find a list of ones I may have missed, so I could see if there was anywhere I could try and work him in.

Bah, forgive me. The Nightshadows went after you (under a disguise name ^^;) and we had some good roleplay a few weeks ago.

I just happen to be on at erratic times when playing and there are days I am around that you are not. Or even when I am on a big hiatus, like recently of one week.

I will try nudging you in game next time.

The Sallies will take any Ilmateri who get enlightened to change their suffering ways.

Bah, I prefer Ilmateri to Sallies, some how it seems noble to be willing to bare others burdens to spare them the hardship.

Well if you're in Underport, you could join the small (2 people) but hopefully growing Fanatics of the Overflowing Pit. Ghaunadaurians. :D

Half-drow would fit with:

Ghaunadaurians (We love freaks and outcasts and natural rebels, heck, we even accept slimey jellyfish!). Okay, so 2 people isn't really a faction yet but its fun to play one. :)
Vhaeraunians (well established faction)
Eilistraeens (if good or neutral aligned, very well established)
Some of the secret hidden sneaky guilds around (e.g., Sharrans, Maskarrans, etc)

(Llothites would kill it as would the other gods aligned with Lloth).

Or any of the human ones if it takes a more human approach to life instead of Drow based.

There's a couple of lathanderite characters that I know of, so it's not all void of PC activity.

I had a Lathanderite monk once, but he fell into Shar's embrace with time. >.>

Anyway, I've been seeing various Lathanderite characters every now and then during my time on Amia. A while ago a few players even took a shot at forming a faction devoted to the Morning Lord. But I guess it didn't work out.

Everyone knows Ilmater is Salandra's boss, so an Ilmatari cleric should totally join the Salandrans and lord his god over the mere demigod-worshipers. :D
