In all honesty to everyone complaining about this, you have an entire server to RP in. If you want to stick around in the laggiest area on the server which just happens to have the newbies running through it, deal with it. There's plenty of other places you can go.
Your quotes make me think you're not taking this very seriously, Tormak. As our Admin you had better take it seriously! This is affecting my playing happiness. I want you to take every person breaking this into the Time Out zone! Or...... or...... I'll whine to you about more things.

I have no answer except "deal with it IC if possible or ignore it". I am just slightly amused about the thread since I recall players that could not or did not want to distinguish between a noob who sprinted with a flaming longsword or a calm walking hin presenting his warhammer on his shoulder.
Well, both are done......sometimes all you can do is ignore the noobs, if they won't respond (or not ICly anyway). I think I vaguely remember the incident you mention, but I'm not sure how it was treated the same as someone running like crazy, who we react to before they get out of earshot.
EDIT: Btw the OP isn't a Hin, I'm not sure if you thought that, & nor was she referring, I'm sure, to any incident in Bendir.

I think I heard of that class and read about it in a book.
They sort of go into a fighting frenzy at the taste of blood, and they are like a big spiky cannonball that bites you and hugs you.
truly terrifying, I think there were some amusing comments about how smelly they are though because of all the blood under their armor.

Also, no. No, this is not a good argument. I'll state again that "Fantasy" does not allow one to through suspension of disbelief, nor basic logic, out the window. You cannot use that argument for every single thing that comes up. It just doesn't work like that.
That's a reminder to everyone, by the way, not just the poster. There are limits, there is logic.
True enough, but if we apply logic, we pwetty please apply the same logic everywhere, not just where it suits. Some PCs have so many spikes on their armor they could be member of the Gutbuster Brigade, should they wear their underwear in Bendir?
Edit:
Should a half-dragon be skinned because a child PC in Cordor may bump into them and poke their eye out? As I said, logic is dandy and all, but applying the same reasoning everywhere is the funny thing in a fantasy setting like Amia.
So whats the answer? Because not every instance can be stopped, then none of them should be?

I'm not complaining, I'm not upset. I posted this so people would be more aware of the problem, and perhaps work together to fix it.

wow you people are silly(for lack of the word I wanted to use) why do you people care so much about a small thing like running with weapons?
the server has players who metagame, PK and brake other rules and people are geting worked up about running around with a weapons.
you say its bad RP, you know whats bad RP, the damn PVP rule that says players cant kill drow on sight or over sized rats or other freak races that on the surface races would kill on sight, maybe when they are run off people will let thier guard down.

Just felt like going on a little mild rant here. Its interesting, I see people who just run around town with their weapons drawn, bumping into people, continuing on without even so much as a word, or a *shoves their way past so and so*. Just take into consideration that doing so could cause an accidental stabbing ICly, and the guards, at least in Cordor, would be all over you.
At the risk of sounding impertenant, and although I dont often think of raising my head above the parapet on these forums, I think it worth syaing the the original point of the post is valid.
Yes leaving the game mechanics to one side like Zante said he is right, but it still does not excuse that people would run about with weapons drawn in any built up area. Dark Angel has a fair point that should be listened to. not derided and have the original post garbled up.
you know whats bad RP, the damn PVP rule that says players cant kill drow on sight or over sized rats or other freak races that on the surface races would kill on sight, maybe when they are run off people will let thier guard down.
Because on Amia, there are more goodie drow than bad drow, Kobolds who want to be your best friend and dragonbloods who sit around and make small talk all day.

see but that logic is flawed as people that hate on undead can smite them at will, and the fact is most people would not care if they say they are good or not because most would still rather genocide them to be on the safe side
and as for most people playing all rainbow puppy monster races, thats because if they played them like monsters they would get stomped and would have not alot of people to play with.

I sort of agree with you, I am torn at times mainly because of the fact, some do not believe "leave or die" is a good option, the one I mainly lean on as Amareth. and then there is the fact I sometimes feel it is silly to offer an option to drow who amareth hates. That being said I do follow the PvP rules when It comes to drow and amareth's hatred of them.
I do agree about how most normally should hate monster races, but instead people side with say drow over those that hate them for what they are. Often using arguments such "don't judge them by what skin color they are" or "they are good, their can be good ones." It is kind of strange IMO that people would rather side with a monster who most in the FR world are raised to see it as evil. It is also annoying to see people playing races that should be hated, not understanding why someone would hate them, as in the case of drow. But regardless of how others act, i will keep playing amareth as how she is, ie someone who does hate monsters.
While I agree with corypx, theres a difference btw undead and drow.
Undead Summons: NPCs, by definition inheretly evil, ever.
Drow: PCs, should only have 1 good drow in a million (with only a couple hundred thousands in whole Faerun), but alas, they *can* be good, as absurd as it sounds.

Sometimes I think players take their real world "I am SOO not a racist" attitude into the game, while good intended, its not the reality of the FRs. Then again you have to acknowledge Amia overrides canon values, as much as it makes me cringe inwardly.
You're quite mistaken about the ratio, though, considering over 22% of all drow worship Eilistraee to some extent and 10-12% of all drow worship only her and are, basically, her clergy. Instead of "one in a million", it's more like "one in five." Then again, this is completely off-topic and I don't disagree with you about how to react to other races and cultures in a Faerûnian way.

that depends on numbers iron, but still that isn't much of an exuse IMO for people to be freinds and ignore how many people normally hate drow in cannon FR. I agree with hendrack in that many people take the "I am not a rasicst in Rl" attitude in game.
No doubt, but it's no excuse to let misconceptions and false information go uncorrected. I'm not at all interested in the discussion at hand.

I am not an Eili sage but I'd be interested how many Eilies are really good and how much are just neutral. I should have phrased the one-in-a-million thingo related to Drizzt drows.
Good or Neutral, I think the fact that they are Eilistraeen who try to uphold her goodly dogma and have turned away from other drow deities is the decisive factor in how they would be treated. Drizzt is a unique case that makes no sense in the setting, but you don't need to know Drizzt to accept that the vicinity of a famous Eilistraeen shrine may mean that not every drow you meet will attack you on sight.
Judging by her Divine Rank of 7, Eilistraee has anywhere from a few thousand to tens of thousands of worshipers. Probably closer to a few thousand than a few tens of thousands. She would be known to many priests, scholars and adventurers, if not quite understood or accepted.
I guess it's just a lack of familiarity with the setting, enforced by the unusual experiences characters get on Amia. When your elf gets called Vyshaan by another when he's mildly cool and suspicious of an unknown tiefling mercenary eager to offer free services, you're bound to adapt and think "this is the way I should behave."

I disagree iron, about you stating she would be known to many priests scholars and adventures. She might be known to some but not many. Scholars possibly, but that would depend on what area they were studying or reserching. I do not believe a scholar of say geography or human history would know that much about them. Priests wouldn't IMO know alot about them, unless they come from a faith that knows about them, such as the elven faiths or the drow faiths. but most human faiths wouldn't talk about them. Adventures are just a mixed bag, you do get any sort of people becoming an adventure. But most unless they were taught about them would not know about them. All that means, it is likely for someone to assume a drow is evil when they see them, even if it states it is good. The number of eilistraeens that exist still do not exuse the fact of how they should be reacted to.
I do agree it has something to do with lack of familarity on the setting, I do wonder if there is anything that could be done to solve this. their could be a journle entry that gives a basic outline of the FR world. But if amareth is ever called a vyshaan by another for hating drow, she would just reply that person is naive and then go on to explain why drow are hated and why they should be hated. But I have seen some change because of them not being part of the elven culture that trusts drow, but I have also seen people change to hating drow as well.

Honestly, this is a very petty issue. You'll NEVER stop noobs from doing it. They're called noobs for a reason, they don't know any better! Give them a nice hint OOCly if you're a nice person and take the bump as an OOC thing. People running around with weapons can be handled by PC guards wherever having a weapon out is against the law (and honestly I think only Bendir Dale falls under that column). Implementing server scripts to stop people from running around those given towns with weapons is not only nearly impossible as the server stands, but its ridiculous. How do you figure that would work in a place like Bendir Dale? the town is in the same map as the outskirts. You would have guards running after adventurers who are simply passing by on the outskirts.
Good Eili's are in big numbers on Amia but they in no way out number Underdark/Evil Drow. But yeah, there are way too many cuddly Kobold, Goblins, Chromatic Dragon kin, etc. But there's really nothing you can do about that that would bring changes right away or in the near future without pissing off a good portion of the server. It's like the Amian economy, its out of control. The only way it can be fixed is slowly though little things that start to cap the holes.
Priests almost always have Knowledge (Religion) which specifically concerns things like that. In addition, they commune with deities and would be pretty unlikely not to know about the existance of other major powers. Adventurers generally are very knowledgeable and get levels to take Knowledge skills and learn stuff. Eilistraee isn't this "big secret" that's covered up carefully. She's a lesser deity of Realmspace. Commoners of most areas probably have little idea about her existance, and could care less. But the same can be said about pretty much any non-greater deity that isn't worshipped in your region. It's nonsense to say people shouldn't know Eilistraee when they go about their merry way discussing Red Knight, Savras, Rillifane Rallathil, Velsharoon, Laduguer or Gwaeron Windstorm.

what makes you think its noobs who are doing it? maybe they are rollplaying given the fact people let the monster races run free that might not be nice but say they are.

but do clerics commune with their deities all the time? It is possible they do it subconsciously with their deity, as in the case of when they pray. I thought deities do not actively interact with -every single cleric-. I assume if they commune which in my mind means talking actively to a deity. Just because one may know that Eilistraee exists doesn't mean that they know alot about her. I disagree about adventures being very knowledgeable, how you phrased it seems they know a lot about everything which isn't true, they do learn stuff as they travel but not many of them unless they got a good education would know about alot of things. I myself generally put them a little above what their home town knows of. It makes little sense to say, average people know little about her, but adventures do. for what if a commoner decided to leave his town and go on an adventure? he wouldn't know about her.
I do agree however though that she isn't much of a secret, but just that she isn't well known. there is a diffrence between her being a secert and her being well known. I have read that the harpers are trying to let people know more about her. if all these preists, adventures and scholars which do exist in abudance, know about her why would they bother letting others know about her if alot already know about her?
Try to decide your stance and what it means in practice, already.
Being well-known is relative. However, there's little reason to assume she's any less-known than the other lesser powers and demigods everyone seems to be so familiar with. Furthermore, it's rather unlikely an adventurer who arrives on Amia and hangs out there a while doesn't learn about Eilistraee, if they didn't know beforehand. As I said, "she would be known to many priests, adventurers and scholars." This doesn't imply anything more than knowledge of her existance, and it doesn't even mean the majority of those people know of her.

Real simple: If they don't emote it and just run off, they're noobs or jackasses and should simply be ignored. If they emote it, sure, go ahead and RP along. In any other case, why become a griefer?
Well, you obviously don't live in the states. Each state is different and in NO state can you walk around town with your weapon on you, let alone in hand. You would need a license to have a weapon on you that is also loaded. I might add that also, in many states, it's extremely hard to get such a license.

In Australia you're allowed to carry a holstered sword etc. so long as you have the proper license. And Aia is set in a time when everyone was allowed to carry these things freely bandits and highwaymen, the weight of the law doesn't extend very well pass ctie.
