A simple notice posted in the town hall. Any one good with their eyes can spot Dirk Sashin entering and leaving the town hall regularly to converse with the clerks.

All Hin, Gnome and Dwarven residents,

A town meetings has been requested by a local who wishes to remain anonymous. The main topic of the meeting will be residency. Please, leave times you would be available with Cindle so we can try to accomodate as many people as we can. Again, this meeting is only for our residents of hin, gnomish or dwarven ancestry. It is a very important town meeting, and we're in dire need of one.

Away from Bendir for a while, as Lyle knows, but still on the island. Just leave
a message for me either at the Triumvir, or at The Slanty Shanty Inn in
Wharftown, and I'll be there, whatever the day and time.

Bemmi tells Benki about the town hall meeting. Benki, being illiterate, doesn't leave a note for Lyle but makes a mental note to be there.

I'm out for the evening on Saturday, but should be able to stay for most, if not all of the meeting, if it isn't hugely long.

A stack of special edition issues of the Bendir Dale Bugle are left on one of the tables in the Hinn Inn.

All the way through the day heated arguments and hypothetical situations filled the meeting room of Bendir Dale’s Town Hall. The topic was one near and dear to everyone residing in our lovely town: What is to be done about the tall-folk encroaching on our beloved Dale?

The original proposition set before the ten residents present barred all tall-folk except by marriage. The claims that you ‘couldn’t stop love’ seemed a sound one.

Derry Swiftkick, in opposition to the idea, stated that allowing proven friends of Bendir Dale to reside here was a wiser course of action than to allow tall-folk residency only via marriage.

“A hin could just get married to any one,” said Swiftkick. “There are some tall-folk I’d rather have instead of some hin.” Swiftkick’s argument struck a blow to the proposition that it could not recover from. He instead proposed a strict approval policy.

Some hin adamantly opposed this one as well. Instead of allowing for marriage or petition, they questioned why they had to allow any tall-folk to reside in Bendir Dale.

“I say we bar the whole lot of them,” said Rizo. Benki Darkbrood, Jayna, and Dirk Sashin quickly came to her side, applauding the proposal of a ‘no-exceptions’ policy.

Sashin, the resident leading the charge against the tall-folk invasion, claimed our very culture was at stake. He foretold a grim future equating to our beloved Bendir Dale to Cordor. He warned us against sun elf merchants, kobolds running amok and dragon-blooded as far as the eye can see.

“I’m not a politician,” Dirk told Bugle reporters after the meeting, “but I love this town as much as the next hin. I’d hate to see it gone to hell.”

General-Mayor Nof Barshedge and Captain Lyle Torrowfire kept their own opinions guarded for the majority of the meeting. Torrowfire cast his vote for the ‘no exceptions’ policy near the end of the meeting with no explanation as to why. Barshedge did not cast a vote.

The ‘No-exceptions’ policy passed with a vote of five-to-four. The dissenters were Nina Thorrow, Froom, Derry Swiftkick and Tuji Muki. Sally Torrowfire’s vote is still yet to be cast, as she was forced to leave the meeting early. This could change the outcome.

A jury of senior residents is expected to meet within the tenday to make a formal decision. It has been guaranteed that current tall-folk residents would not be forced to leave.

Derry sees the Town Meeting notice and realizes it took place yesterday. "Them hin need a voice of reason, they jump on any bandwagon. This town need some common sense." He furrows his brow and stomps away, shaking his head.

i second it, especailly with all these commitments i have, i just havent had much time to log on

I support that, of course, but it's up to the people who run the forums.

*After hearing about all the recent troubles in the Dale, and experiencing many himself, Ukre has decided he may as well go ahead and attempt to see if he can give one last go at fixing things (as he sees it), by calling a meeting in which the residents can discuss and vote on items for the plan he and his brothers wrote up for the town. Ukre requests in the post however, that first he wants everyone to leave a notice in his cubby of what the best time would be and that they plan to show up, so he can leave a copy of his plan with them, that they have to think on it before the meeting is given a set time. *
