You could probably get away with a dog, raven or bat, unless people act completely stupid and "omfg" over animals that would live in the city any ways.

It's easy, just do random stuff that animals would do.. like flip around in the grass, sniff at people, lick yourself.. hump legs.. whatever.
Whenever Nas is assuming old geezer form, he'll cough and wheeze at random times, and other stuff that old people do. Like pass gas, without realising and such.

What I mean is, my vocabulary in emotes, like verbs is rather bad. In my country they dont teach words so you could say what your doing like "Peers around" or was it peeks.. Anyway I need to use my dictionary to know what people are emoting sometimes and when I started I didnt even know what ment *Mumbles* They teach us to speak it and how to write it and how to work in bussiness in english usually

Honestly in your situation I would suggest using that dictionary ^_^
It's annoying int he beginning, and you'll prolly feel silly, but in the end you'll enrich your vocabulary a lot
I've seen people go from enormously crappy emotes to decent ones today, by using their dictionaries
Used it myself aswell

Why not allowing player to play the Evil Race known has the Doppelganger of course it will need to be a Platinum Coin Race . BUT if i'm correct they are shifters!

If you want an endless stream of emotes, carry around a Thesaurus. That way you can say *Sits down and does bugger-all* seven hundred different ways.

But seriously, next time I see a panther patrolling the middle of Cordor I'm going to scream ... or do you think there's enough justification to RP kill it? I mean a dangerous wild animal loose in the city.

Yeah... There are children in Cordor. >.> Not likely the guards would let a panther or even a wolf wander around. Even wolves are considered wild, potentially dangerous animals, you know.

What really annoys me though, are dragonshaped shifters, not RPing the 30+ wisdom that they have. And not just shifters run around as animals in cordor. I've seen more than one cow going "hhehehe.. moo!"

RP making some burgers. Seriously, if they refuse to RP, get a DM to control a guard and have a sale on for premium cuts, or if there are no DMs just ignore them.

I love the idea of Cordor being PvP again ... the instant my first character walked outside of the Temple of Waukeen she was killed by a Balor.

I might be on the wrong thread here because it seems to be geared more to the RP aspect of the class but I got an important question . As a new player here I am wondering if the administration has found a way to circumvent the save script that wreaks havok on a shifter . Before 1.69 there was a work around but now the only ones who can fix it are Bioware..and they aren't interested . I searched the forums but couldn't find it anywhere , If it already exists then my apologies and please post the link .

you get temporary unshifted and shift back.
Drawback is that that your weapon buffs might be gone; but you save your shapechanges/day. Give a bit, take a bit.

I read that shifters potentially lose their identities.
I play a pure shifter that casts druid spells. The answer was more simple for me though. I play a shifter with multiple personality syndrome.
I figure since one personality is a goblin mage who can cast arcane spells, why not have a weak druid of malar, who can cast druidic spells?

Because that's not how it works. Your goblin isn't casting arcane spells, he's casting spell like abilities. There's a difference. You don't just randomly get divine magic through "split personalities".
If you're not adruid, you shouldn't be casting those spells. Period.

Malar would have to accept all of the personalities and you would be a Druid in every form and would have to live up to all your Druidic oath with every personality. You can't just be a priest sometimes. You're a priest or you're not.

meh, if five levels of druid only then it really should not matter.
Simply playing a rogue/sor/pal is worse rp than rping a few crappy druid spells as something else. The idea that a shifter could slightly boost his/her own strength through sheer body control sounds more plausible than a rogue/sor/pal, whos very multiclass combo should be banned from the server as its very existence contradicts itself.

If you want that, put in a request for it. Otherwise if you don't RP your druid levels you don't 'have' druid levels. I'm sure Tormak will tell you something similar.
Edit: Or Wonwon could repeat the rules diplomatically
For the record, I'm not having a go at either Won or Tormak.

Quote: Shifters and Non-Druids You are permitted to roleplay a shifter while ignoring the Druid aspect. However you must forfeit the following; Druid Class Equipment (unless you can UMD it, and it isn't OOC Restricted to Druids) Druid Spellbook Access to the Duir
A Shifter can be any creature that possesses the ability to shapeshift otherwise, such as arcane spellcasters, rangers, and the like. As such, non-druidic Shapeshifters can occur - though there is no escaping the 5 level loss mechanically due to the Druid Class being a requirement. Got to bite and deal.
Shifters & Druidic Oaths
See question 1. If you're a Druid, you must obey Druidic Oaths. If you're not, you don't have to.
'Non Druid' Shifters & Spells
If you do not roleplay as a Druid in your Shifter Build, you may not use the Druid's Spellbook at all, for any reason. No exceptions.

or we can ignore the fact, much like an rdd who completely rply ignore bard/sorc levels, and uhh.......rp the spells as we see fit. I don't see any rdds with bagpipes or nothing and yet they have music
edit: oh, there's an actual rule on it......nevermind the above, i do not wish to encourage rulebreaking...
Whoever made it should be shot.

Divine Spellcasters operate under a few extra conditions. Druids and Paladins especially.

No offense, it seems lame you dms would foster so much focus on an already weak, and obviously overlooked(shifter changes) class. Do we need is a stupid, nitpicky rule to further weaken it?
I would focus more on pallys and rdds.
It would be nice if those shifter changes did not always get put on the backburner in favor of everything else.

They aren't focussing on the Shifter but the druid. If you don't RP that you're a druid, don't use their abilities. It's that simple.

Either way it seems like a rule that can hardly be enforced anyways. Truth be told I totally forgot I had spells anyways. So then I guess I'll just play a druid who is simply lousy at being a druid, doesn't care he is a druid, and really might not acknowledge even it's existence, cause he's a shifter...but he's a druid none the less.
There, problem solved.

Oh it can be enforced. As should any willfull, knowing direct countermanding of the rules and requests of a DM. You can get level docking.. DC removal, hrm.. Failing success with those, Banned.

How about allowing polymorph as an alternate prereq? that way we aren't forced to take a class and ignore it if we want a non-druid shifter. In real DnD thats how it is. Your rule is based on NWN fail so why not fix it up a little by allowing other types of shifters?

This is what should always be done for those who claim to be non-druidic shifters, IMO.
The easiest policies to follow are the ones that are mechanically enforced. See: "Good fences make good neighbors."
HiPS HAK that makes it only work in evironment and PC shadows, I await thee.

Amen brotha! stop playing hide and seek around some poor non-spotter and follow the rules. chances are the guy you are hassling isn't fat enough to make a 360 degree shadow.

I'd be happy with just a cooldown, but that's for another topic.

So then I guess I'll just play a druid who is simply lousy at being a druid, doesn't care he is a druid, and really might not acknowledge even it's existence, cause he's a shifter...but he's a druid none the less. There, problem solved.
Easy. Fall Widget. 50% Damage taken any time you cast a druidic spell.
Unfortunately, this bugs, resulting in any spell you cast as a Shifter also resulting in the same.
I'd suggest not trying to circumvent the rules, for once. It can really suck.
