((OOC: Hey, any typos and things you want corrected, PM to me to avoid clutter in the thread.))
This sign is made from wood that has just been sanded down enough to not splinter some one tacking something to it. It is posted just opposite to the entrance, next to the door of the meeting room. Carved into the top, with bits of acid burn around the letters, is the title of the organization for which it is intended, in all capital letters.
FIST OF THE DALE
What follows is a bit of parchment labeled "Roster" with a few inches of blank at the bottom, and some vague death threats about vandalism
Lyle Torrowfire - Captain
Biddle Broadfoot - Sergeant Sally Torrowfire - Warrior Lyam Thornhill - Warrior Jago Delrithian(?) (The Good One) - Warrior Ratte - Warrior Euphemia Tealeaf - Warrior Connor O'Riley - Warrior
Swift Torrowfire - Intelligence Officer Grindan - Spy/Scout Drohina - Spy/Scout
Anita Streamer (?) - Healer Sugrin Rosccobobobo (?) - Healer
Tommi Twinkney - Mage Guard Captain Izzy - Mage Guard Dram - Mage Guard Hailey Hedgefire - Mage Guard Nina Thorrow - Mage Guard
Egan Winterthistle - Cook
Adjacent to the Roster is another bit of paper labeled "Standing Orders"
All Fist Members are to patrol the town itself and report ghosts, spirits, mylocks, and magical darkness to the Captain. They should be engaged if they present and immediate threat to the Dale. With the Mylocks mostly defeated, a more casual, total patrol should be done. As well, all people on the "warning" list should be escorted out of town, by force if necessary. If any lives are lost, they are to be raised outside of the village gate.
One the same bit of parchment as the standing orders, are a few names of people to be wary of. The section is labeled "Warning-Blacklist" A grim note is added:
No longer are people on the blacklist merely to be asked to leave (unless otherwise noted). They are to be exterminated after one verbal warning to leave.
Jago and Aaron Drogo - He hasn't actually done anything yet. No evidence, just keep a close eye on him The Flargs - hobgoblins, brutish, stupid. Speak a barely understandable dialect of goblin. Don't kill them, or kick them out, just tail them. Mog - Blue clothed, gnome, large shield, kukri. Very sneaky and sly. Wanted for robbery, murder, attack on guard personel, placing stress on Dale commerce, endangering lives. Criminal 1 (Tarick) - Tiefling in black armor, and red skin. Scimitar, towershield. Very muscular and strong. Wanted for robbery, murder, attack on guard personel, placing stress on Dale commerce, endangering lives. Tyd - an old mage in various colored robes. Refers to himself as the great Tydarius. For general disrespect to hin and threatening to destroy our hamlet, he is to be killed after one verbal warning to leave. If he casts a spell upon entering take him out. He's been warned. Kas'udi - Snow elf, often skimpy clothing, great sword, speaks oddly... you know her. For various assaults and disrespects, she is permanently banned from our Dale, with a heavy-heart. Elwynn - Snow elf child, daughter of Kas'udi and Davril. She is not allowed in to Bendir Dale without Davril as chaperone. Should she make trouble still with him around, remove both of them nonviolently.
Beside the black list is another list, labeled "Drow Exception list". It explains that the following drow are allowed entry without having to show their symbols of Eilistraee. A picture of the insignia is beside the exception list, and the Non-Eilistraee ban notice.
Na'yann - recognizable by her blue and gold robe, as well as her kind and timid behavior, she can be safely trusted. If there is any doubt, ask for a Grove insignia.
Right under the title of the board itself is a short paragraph labelled "mission statement", carved right into the wood itself, in jagged letters, each one having a little acid burn on the edges.
The Fist of the Dale is a reactionary group of defenders who strive to protect Bendir Dale and the hin way of life, both within its borders, and going out beyond our borders to exterminate threats to our livelihood. We are the strongest and most talented of our kind, and morally up-standing to boot. In times of trouble, while the local militia will serve as a shield, or maybe a helmet... maybe even a full plate, but we will be the strong arm of the Dale - the weapon, the offensive. The Fist of the Dale.
Two newer notices, stil under standing orders, not in Lyle's hand writing.
Anyone attempting to either sneak or hide within Bendir's walls for what is deemed to be malicious, deceptive or hostile reasons to be politely required to cease & not repeat the behaviour be asked to leave, or escorted immediately out, if judged hostile.
Setting of traps for mischief or malice to be deemed a hostile act & dealt with accordingly.
Loitering in an attempt to eavesdrop on conversations within Bendir or in the environs of the Dale may be considered an unfriendly act & dealt with accordingly.
Requests to remove hoods or helms or to transform to true shape & appearance are reasonable, & refusal may be deemed good reason for a request to leave, or to be escorted while within Bendir, where deemed appropriate.
This next standing order is in Lyle's hand writing again.
Helmet removal can only be ordered with probable cause and suspicion. All cases and reports are to be submitted to me within the next tenday.
Substances and "funny" pipe herbs deemed illegal in Cordor are not such in Bendir Dale. While the side effects of such things should be punished as public drunkeness, possessing and smoking such substances (while behaving) should not be punished. The sale of the substance, however, should not be permitted.
Tacked beside the mission statement is a map labeled patrol route, and a small note beside it.
In the Forest portion of the patrol, all Fist are to obey reasonable Grove orders, and remain on the road. The red dots are stopping points, and this patrol should be made daily. Any drow encountered are to be questioned as to who they follow, and dealt with accordingly. Any large raiding parties should either be reported to the Grove, The Shrine, Winya, or Bendir Dale if in our own jurisdiction. Because of the danger on the road, Fist members should feel free to join rangers on their patrols, but not deviate from the route. You should now patrol the road south to Cordor.
The application for employment is removed. However, below it are several forms. Above them it says: "Please, elect one person to fill out the conflict reports. Any battles (involving two or more combatants) are to fill out one of these and turn them into Lyle."
Example:
Name: Obviously, the name of the person filling out the form
Position: Your position. Example: Mage guard, healer, etc.
Location: Where the battle took place
Allied Participants: Any friendlies, Fist or not, involved in the combat
Enemy Participants: Any and all enemy combatants
Summary of Events: A short synopsis of the combat, including the beginning, specifics of the fight and the outcome
Allied Casualties: Any friendlies who fall
Kills: Who killed who. Example: Lyle killed Aaron

Pinned on the very bottom, in a reddish ink, is another notice. This one looks quite recent and, unlike the other texts on the board, is written in bad, hasted handwriting.
All available Fist (Especially Mage Guard Tommi Twinkney) and any seasoned residents of Bendir Dale willing to perform a special mission to secure the safety of the Dale should leave a notice for Lyle Torrowfire with Mayor Nof's receptionist. A healthy dose of courage is a requirement, and paladins are more than welcome. As you know, our Grove neighbors have had trouble with one of our enemies taking up resident in their forest. As such, and Grove members who see this are welcome to join arms with the Fist of the Dale to see this thing exterminated.

Lyle leaves a note on the board over his mission recruitment.
I went up to Wyrmhold, and noticed that, despite my illness, the fighting did get done. Good on you. Any one who was there, please give me a summary of what happened, as well as an possible loose ends that need to be squashed out.

A hastily written notice
Apology for the short notice, but all Fist members are to attend Story Time in the Grove, for the meeting afterwards. Any other Bendir Dale residents concerned about security are welcome.

The message about the meeting after story time is removed and another is added:
There is a second negotiation with the druids, but this one is more private. Therefore, I ask that only my officers (Lyam or Biddle) come, if possible.

An update to the "black list" is added, a bit of advice about the patrols is added, and the following note is tacked to the board:
Quote: Whilst patrolling the woods near the grove, I was set upon by a hinn and a dwarf. The Hinn summoned an undead skeleton and the dwarf summoned a devil and then battle ensured.
I was able to bash the monsters back into the planes from whence they came forth and knocked out the two assailants who sought to lay ambush in the forest to travellers on the road to Winya.
Please be aware that these two miscreants are likely to be further trouble in the future and stay on your guard.
They seemed to also had complete disregard for any links I mentioned with the Dale or Brogdenstein.
Leaflord's blessings,
Captain Amywiethiel Winya
Right below it is a commentary by the captain.
Any hin-lady or dwarf found traveling with an undead or a demon are to be rigorously questioned, or captured if they do not comply. If they attack, do not hesitate to neutralize them. Any encounters or sightings should be reported privately to Fist Captain Lyle Torrowfire, Sergeant Biddle Broadfoot, or Sergeant Lyam Thornhill, and from there we will inform Winya and the Grove. For the moment, patrols should regularly extend all the way to Winya, so we can make sure this filth doesn't take root.

The following policy is added to the board:
All unknown, suspicious drow entering Bendir Dale should be questioned, as to their identity and origin, for our record. Save this information and give it to Sergeant Biddle Broadfoot, Sergeant Lyam Thornhill, or (as the sergeants should do) Lyle Torrowfire. This measure will only be temporary, and should only be done if the drow in question are not known to us, or are particularly jerkish, or if they slip in under stealth or invisibility. All invisible or sneaking visitors should be questioned, and asked to leave their hiding.
Any one caught being overly harsh or aggressive with any visitor - drow or otherwise - without proper cause will be severely punished.

A notice is added shortly after the brawl, with bright, colorful ink and festive handwriting
Shifter Grindan won the Gold in the Light Weight Brawl at Kampo's tonight, and Intelligence Officer/Scout Jennika "Swift" Warrens came home with the Bronze in the same tier. Be sure to congratulate your comrades next time you see them for the great job.

The notice about the brawl winners is removed, as is the roster, which is replaced with one lacking "Okra". Onenotice is added, with the first few words in red ink, as if it were very important.
I will be away on business for awhile. This means that Sergeants Biddle Broadfoot and Lyam Thornhill are temporarily co-captains of the Fist, while mage guard Tommi Twinkney and Intelligence Officer/scout Jennike Warrens are temporarily promoted to sergeant status. Upon my return, any and all policies made during this time by Biddle and Lyam will be critically reviewed by me, and either be removed or kept. I also expect a summary of events that happened during my absense from the four noted Fist. Don't worry, I will be back, and I have the utmost confidence in the temporary leadership of the Fist. Don't let me down.
All available Fist members should report to the Grove in a day or two for you-know-what. Even though I will most likely not be there, I expect a good showing of our number. And remember, we're hin, not second-class folk. You don't need to take being shoved around, but I'm certain that the grove won't be the ones who do that, and rather just Theos.
OOC: I'm on vacation for about a week, so I won't be on most likely won't be here at all during the week, and won't return until saturday or sunday. As for the grove related bit, most of the hin/Fist should be aware of what this is. Here is the time Gothic is planning to run it:

A wagon from Cordor rolls into Bendir Dale late one night, carrying a few exhausted passengers. One of them, a particularly large hin, wearily pushes open the gates, after greeting the local (and quite welcoming) militia. He hobbled into the town, giving a warm smile at a drowsy Jayek, nodding off to sleep near his shrine. Once at the well, he dropped a little corn on the ground, and waited a few moments - that was all he needed, for a raven flew from the orchard, and landed on the ground before the visitor. After eating a few kernels, it flew onto the hin's shoulder, accepting the ride around the Dale.
Slowly, he hobbled into the town hall, his prosthetic leg making a distinctive sound on the hard floor. A fond smile graced his face as he looked over the standing orders, and quickly added a few other details to Biddle's.
Helmet removal can only be ordered with probable cause and suspicion. All cases and reports are to be submitted to me within the next tenday. Glad to be home, fellow Dale residents.
-Captain Lyle Torrowfire
With that, the tired captain sends off his raven, and hobbles up to his room for some much needed rest.

Some changes are mad to standing orders, with Biddle's suggestions being made 'official', and a small bit concerning 'illegal' pipe herbs added. A new name is also added to the Roster, Dram the mage guard.

Well, it HAS to be eiter Persuade or Intimidate, boss, IMO. They are what fits the role of Fist best

A notice is placed on the board:
All Fist are to be wary of a man by the name of Elth and his kobold companions traveling the roads, wanted for the murder of a gnome not far from Bendir Dale. They should be treated as dangerous, and lethal force is allowed in their apprehension, so long as they are raised, and questioned. When a patrolling Fist heads south, continue your patrol to the wagon wreckage in orc lands, as this was where the attack occured.

A notice is placed on the board, just as the previous one is taken down:
Just as there is a leader of our scouting division, so must we have one for our magic guard division. All mage guards should report to Lyle Torrowfire for a critical examination of their magical talents and leadership capabilities.

This note is added, explaining the newest name on the black list.
Harry, after we accused him of robbery, decided to attack us. Biddle, Dram and myself took him down, and kicked him out. Henceforth, for robbery and behavior unbefitting of a hin, he is banned from Bendir Dale. Any Fist should not escort him out alone, unless he is attacked first via shadows. Don't let him have any advantage. Further more, he should be killed on sight.

The note concerning Harry is removed, and the blacklist itself is replaced, with new orders on how to deal with those unlucky enough to have their names on it.

The notice is updated.
There have been strange, very tough bugs sighted in the forest north, and toward the Temple of Malar. Only the most experienced of Fist should even attempt to engage one of these monstrosities. Any sightings that are not taken care of should be reported to Captain Lyle Torrowfire for extermination. I must emphasize that only the most seasoned of Fist members even dare to engage it. There were three main types.
Fire Beetles: These were the least dangerous of all the bugs encountered, but where there was one of these, there were usually other bugs. Most Fist members should be able to at least survive a scrape with one of these, provided they are careful, and it is a one-on-one fight.
Brown Beetles: These beetles were a bit tougher, with thicker shells and a weird screech that really hurts the ears, but is more of an annoyance than anything. Though not particularly strong, they're well armored.
Spiders: These were the deadliest ones. Moving quicker than anything I've ever seen, with a nasty poison if it nails with one of its painful bites, these should be treated with care. As an order, an Fist spotting these spiders should retreat. The only ones I authorize to engage one of these monsters are Lyam, Biddle, Dram, Ratte, Jago and myself.
On patrol, Fist should also look out for hooded men in black along the forest, as well as any mind flayers, because these were seen in the company of the bugs, the former of which were killable.
-Captain Lyle Torrowfire

This note is added just after the note about the well water.
Any outsider caught tampering with the well water (when you can confirm it visually) is to be exterminated without warning. The only exception to this is if Captain Lyle Torrowfire or Mayor Nof authorize any work on the well specifically, or if Jayek is performing a blessing.

Two descriptions of goblins are added to the bottom of the ban list in a more feminine hand.

*Cindle Blimleaf posts a notice on he board*
HEARTH DAY
//I Hope you all can see a place to fit your talents in. If you have other Ideas...pass them on.
As a note, the Great Basket of Plenty and the Hearthstones of Yondalla that the Mayor ordered last year for the celebration are missing. Recent Scrying has show that they were on a ship off the North West coast of Amia when they went aground on a reef. Mayor Nof has called for a Town Hall meeting to ask the clergy of Yondalla for assistance.

A new notice is posted up, written swifty, in an angry hand. The legibility suffers slightly, as can be expected.
For the moment, all drow are banned from entering Bendir Dale. They are to be asked to leave once, and then the arresting officers can execute as he or she feels fit. Until a more efficient and flexible decision can be reached, this word is law, unless mayor Nof declares otherwise.
I won't see another hin murdered in our square, and thank the Gods it was me, and not you.

It is altered yet again.
It has been worked out with Master Jud of the Shrine that all drow are to be questioned about possession of an insignia of Ellistrae. If they do not have one, they are to be asked to leave, or be violently removed.

A notice is posted up.
I heard something about a mage attacking Bendir Dale. Any who were present (Fist or not) are ordered to deliver their report of the incident to Captain Torrowfire as soon as possible so he can be added to the "ban" list.
