Those travelling through Wharftown recently might notice various people burning what appear to be the carcasses of dead kittens. Likewise torched is the trash heap that once was next to the tanner's shop, apparently burned down very rapidly and by a very hot flame. If asked what's going on, the locals would inform visitors of an attack by vicious, deadly, diseased creatures recently.... of all things, those creatures being kittens.
The attack seemed to result in several people becoming ill, vomiting up blackish fluid and blood. One of the clerics present managed to identify the disease as the Slimey Doom, which is highly contagious. It's widely believed that Talonites may be behind the attack, as an eerily similar incident recently occured in Cordor.

Lyle Torrowfire, champion of Selune and former resident of Wharftown, lingered for a while after the attack, keeping folks away from the priestess while she tended to the construction workers, and their various wounds. When he finally had a moment to speak, just before he took his leave, he turned to the priestess, and relayed her a message: " 'Parently, some folks saw some ol' lady muddlin' 'round in th' trash pile, 'nd 'ey think it be a clue. So, ye may like t' look fer some ol' lady who be a stranger wanderin' 'bout."

After a short period of rest on her return to the isle, Selithe heads out to learn the latest news in the kitten story, frowning as she recalls the events prior to her departure, remembering her outrage at the mistreatment of any animal. As she passes by the guards at the entrance to the Vale, she can be heard to mutter something about finding her little friend and putting a stop to this situation.
