=== This is a 'recruitment' thread for those interested in participating in the Banite faction ===

Aside from the IC recruiting, I have now decided to make an OOC topic, here on the forums, with the same intentions.

Not all of you may be aware that there is an active Banite Faction on Amia, and hopefully this will highlight the RP and following of Bane that comes with it, to those of you who are interested or would find it fun in taking part of the malicious events and intentions we seek to run.

For initial information on Bane, please visit these links;

http://amiawiki.shatuga.com/index.php/Banites

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bane_%28god%29

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

In the Amian Banite faction (Church of Bane) we have decided to only allow characters with LE or NE alignments. LN could -possibly-, in rare cases, be considered as well.

Our ambition in-game is to put focus on the enjoyment of playing an evil villain. Even though we put up goals, our main ambition is to enjoy the ride... so to speak. Where we, act out the role of the main religious evil faction, to present a base of conflict for in depth and developing RP-conflicts between Banites and other factions as well as characters.

Activities we do our best to indulge ourself in;

- Malicious scheming, for long-term plots.
- Spreading the faith and converting new followers (both PCs and NPCs)
- Imposing fear by executing malicious acts on the island.
- Attempt to infiltrate positions of power on the island, to better spread the dogma of Bane.
- And all other evil things evil characters are expected to do (wear black and look frightening in Cordor square)

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

At the moment, we seek all types of characters and 'builds'. Though we would suggest looking into any of the following foremost:

"The Clergy (clerics)

The clergy acts to spread the portfolio of Bane by converting those who are willing, and terrorizing those who are not. Senior clerics are constantly scheming as to how best to further Fear, Strife and Tyranny in order to increase Bane's dominion in the realms. Religious rites, ceremonies, sacrifices, and ensuring religious compliance are all normal activities."

"The Order of the Iron Gauntlet (monks)

The Iron Gauntlet does two things: Guard the temple, and whatever dirty work the clergy needs done. Spying, reconnaisance and assassinations are normal activites. Monks are trained to use stealth and guile rather than direct force whenever possible."

"The Order of the Malevolent Fist (blackguards and other melee types)

The Malevolent Fist is a knighthood which answers to the clergy. They serve as the temple infantry when needed, and also assist the High Inquisitor or High Imperceptor in dealing with heresy within the ranks. They are unholy warriors, religiously fanatic in the extreme."

"The Divine Arcanum (sorcerors, bards, wizards)

The Divine Arcanum utilizes arcane magic to extend the will of the clergy. It is specifically geared towards fighting external enemies, subduing them either through force or fear."

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

We welcome both existing characters and completely new ones into the faction, and we'll gladly set up RP for a converting, if that is nessecary.

Level doesn't matter, nor does your choice of build.

We do however require all faction members to be fully motivated, enthustiastic and active while in the faction.

All forms of metagaming are frown upon. Intentional or unintentional, and I must therefore advise players who have characters in confrontial factions (Defenders, Harpers etc) to think twice before making any Banite character.

If you have any questions, at all, or wish to become an active part in the Church of Bane, then please feel free to post in this topic or send a PM to Polan here on the forum, and there will be something worked out :)

Thanks!

would have thought the rogues would be put with the monks,
as they do the same things, mostly.

as for joining the dark side... i've been living it for longer then most would believe ;)

Rogues would be more fitting within the Zhentarim I believe, that's more their cup of tea.

It's tough to group the rogues with the monks, as the Iron Gauntlet is specifically a monk order.

I have a whip dancer, who used to be a spy under cover (on her background story, not at Amia). She's a Rogue/Bard/SD (currently lvl 11) and ever since the player who plays her lover stopped bringing that character, she's sort of without purpose.

Oh, wait, she's CN. -.-

Maybe I should start RPing evil to get an alignment change first? >.<

She'd have to go CN > NE. But being a bard she'd fit in the Divine Arcanum.

*nods*

I will think about it (actually, I am thinking :P), but I'm starting a faction myself and depending on the demand, I might not be so active as Helena as you guys would like, supposing I happen to get her to NE.

Let's see how things will unfold. Depending, we could ally, my faction and yours, if my faction ever gets big enough. ^-^;

Darthion has the symbol of Bane (the Black Hand, with green lighting coming out of it) on his cloak.

He shouldn't be too hard to find.

You would probably get away with just asking any other character ICly, if they know of any Banites. That should give you the names of some of the followers.

To be fair, since there's limited cloak models, I don't blame people for not automatically making the connection. It could be torm's Gauntlet, or Helm's, or etc etc, just because there's a big lack of cloak symbols.

Yeah, I'm not too pleased with having to wander around with a green symbol of Helm on my back. I do RP it as being Bane's symbol though.

The rest of his attire is actually entirely black and green, which should be a good enough indication that he is part of the Banite clergy.

I'd like to ask that all of those who contacted me with interest of becoming involed with the Banite faction (and haven't yet gotten involved) to contact me once again.

This is due to the last months RL happenings in my life, which has kept me from actually going through with your responses.

Yup. As long as they are of enough comical relief. Otherwise we would be more inclined to decapitate them.

We don't actually worship demons. But you're free to bring the peasants. Our temple could always use a couple of extra wall-decorations.

I won't exclude you just because you're playing a kobold. A kobold certainly does go against the Banite clichée however, and probably not in a good sense.

It depends wholeheartedly on how you play the kobold. Kobolds are well known to be rather cowardly, weak and measily foes to face in combat.

Traits in direct opposition to what is expected from a follower of Bane.

If you want to discuss things in detail, you're free to hit me up through PMs. Or we could arrange for Darth to have a peak at the kobold in question in-game, and then go ICly from there.

No part-time members. The only members accepted have to be completely devouted to Bane.

We might however be inclined to hire mercenaries for various tasks.

Depends on what you have to offer. We're always interested in allies.
