Is there anywhere listing the level required to use items upgraded using the mythal crafting system? I recently added damage reduction to my +2 plate mail using a lesser mythal shard only to find I could no longer wear the armour as it had a level requirement. I tried looking at the mythal crafting section on the site but could not find any information about level requirements.

My thanks for your help

only thing you can do is create the item in the nwn toolset and check there

Yups, I will have a look at predicting the outcome when I start working on the mythal stuff. It's probably rather complicated, though, so no promises.

I advise opening the Toolset before doing any craftng at lowbie. It's very easy to create a simple item in it.

As a rule:, if you only just became able to wear an item, don't craft anything more onto it.

The toolset defaults to Level Requirements? I thought the OC, SoU and HotU didn't have them and just assumed you had to "turn them on".

Is it possible to calculate the price of the final product maybe by crafting a dummy to calculate it from

Thats the way level requirement is set after all.

That' still a bit of a headache to keep track of. The mythal system is rather intimidating in size and setup as well.

I see, thanks for the help. It's a shame it doesn't just tell you what the level requirement of an item will be before you create it.

Mainly because the item doesn't exist at that moment, so you can't check it yet.

Level requirements are dependant on the base GP value of the item which depends on the item properties. These properties don't simply add to the value of the item, they also multiply it by a certain amount, which is why more properties can make an item's level requirement shoot up dramatically.

Unless you're an expert at reading and interpreting these multipliers as defined in the game's 2DA files (higher numbers, greater cost) your best shot at predicting the level requirement is to make the item in toolset, which automatically does the calculations.

I read a post a while back that listed all sorts of combinations of mythalling and their level requirements. Can someone point me to that post? I tried searching and only found this.

I don't have access to the tool set (Mac version of NWN), otherwise I'd try to figure out level requirements myself.

So I'm hoping that extensive guide will give me an idea of what I'm trying to find.

It was my post, in fact!

This is the topic that outlines the level requirements for mythallable power combinations.

Your devotion to this server continues to astonish me, thank you for any effort in this problem, if a solution cannot be found might i suggest that people create the foretold item in toolset and read the level requirement.

Ah, thank you Soul! Just what I needed.

I wish I could use the toolset and figure this out myself, but no such luck. You're guide will be my substitute.
