A small group of mostly elderly teetotallers have filed petitions to outright prohibit alcohol completely. Several demonstrations have been staged, and are scheduled to take place in the future. The Duke's office has granted parade permits for a few occasions, but is reluctant to issue more due to some adverse reactions. A flyer is seen as follows:

"Hear us out, Citizens of Cordor!

Too long have we dealt with the Demon Alcohol and its spawn: violence, disruption, madness, and civil unrest. Liquor has caused the ruin of many citizens, and brings harm to our children and their future! Help us fight to preserve the decency of our society, and sign our petitions to be sent to the appropriate legislatures! Our future is at stake."

Aloe spots one of the notes and grins.

'They're getting rid of alchohol! Maybe I can persuade them to give it all to ~me~..'

A couple of patrons at the Nomad were bitterly discussing the flyer. Roy nodded, and added his piece:
'Well, if the water be worth drinkin', then maybe there'd be less need for this." He raises his tankard of ale. "As it is, the water's only fit for keepin' the gondola's afloat, eh?"

Anne reads one of the notes, and shakes her head as she walks off from it, thinking to herself. "Banning...Alcohol? That's just silly. Easiest way to make dirty water drinkable."

Banning alcohol!? The escape route for millions of Faerunites!? Madness! Madness! *rampages Budly walking down the street as the Cleric Benjardin raises a brow seeing the sign, thinking that he was lucky to have moved to Uhm.

Akurak passes through town the flyer catching is eye, he beings to read it shortly followed by a disgusted expression on his face. He finds himself speaking this thoughts out loud at the outrage.

Are they mad?? A lot worse would come out on a ban for alcohol, by the nine hells half the people in this town drink it as a means of relaxing and taking a break after a hard days work. Now these petitioners want to take that way.

Scoffs

They'll have a riot, not to mention never any dwarves in town ever again . . . there goes the precious economy.

He walks away grumbling and being glad he never settles in one place for too long.

Zanthair emerges from the Nomad after a long day of drinking, and notices the petition. Walking over, he quickly skims it, picking out the words Liquor, society, and future.

"Ahh, they want to give liquor to all of society in the future!"

He then signs the petition, following it by "First round of wine on me when this passes!"

Lila peers at the petition, shaking her head a little and rolling her eyes.

"What good would that do? People would just smuggle it in and cause more harm.."

She sighed, wrinkling her nose and walking off.

*molt spots the petition

he begins to sing a small song, with the only audible words, "we, are, we are knights of ale..."

He continues on his way, seemingly to ignore the petition, apart from this odd little song.*

Grayson Silentpaw passes one of the notices and thinks to himself: "Finally, something to rid Cordor of evil alcohol. Bad for my ki anyway. Not to mention the massive hangovers..." Grayson then promptly begins to sing for some odd reason: "Oh hey sweet lady of Wayrest! Oh hey sweet of mine! I'll see you again, yes, I'll see you again! Oh sweet lady of Wayrest so fine...!"
