From the surface, nothing would appear out of place, nor would it seem anything abnormal was underfoot. Stand quietly in a cave, put an ear to the earth, or step foot in the underdark, and one might hear Sounds of an ominous low 'rumble', resonating from deep in the blackness below. Various inhabitants of the underdark seemingly driven forth by the noise scramble out of their natural habitats, occasionally reaching near the surface of the Isle. Something is on the move, what exactly it could be and its destination could be anyone's guess...

Commander Paz'kole seems fond of speaking of what she refers to as a "Humorous" Scene: Two Duergar, a self proclaimed "Emissary" and his bodyguard were sighted outside of the gates, dictating terms of surrender to be delivered to Ultrinaan leaders by various citizens of note who came to listen. Their terms were something to the effect that all weapons of dwarven and duergar make be returned; and that choice slaves, riches, and provisions be given as tribute. They claimed that if this was not done, the city would be "Razed to the Ground". Clearly everyone present thought the situation laughable.

After the little 'escapade' ealier that cycle this was naut what Nadorhaun needed to hear. With the recent developments in the concil chambers and the new alignment of houses it was obvious to him that a drow civil war was enavitable. This problem along with the present danger of a Vodak mutilations, the Takuul kidnappings and the Holy Paladin threats he was surprised that Ultrinnan had stood for this long.

Sitting in his room, the pressure puts much strain and stress upon him as he gazes at his heretic hanging noose. Wondering wheter to escape from it all. He knocks another swig of piss water ale and fixes his helm, tonights guard duty was going to be a long one.

And so it was that the caverns of the underdark Echoed with the sounds of Marching footsteps; that of probable thousands of Duergar: well armed, yet un-uniformly so. Fires from torches, flaming ammunition of seige equiptment, and campfires lit up the underdark, as almost if it were day.

An emissary of this army approached the gate, and once again, demanded for the surrender of Ultrinaan. He was troubled, but not surprised by their reaction. The siege would begin as predicted.

Balistae were set up everywhere they could be, open flat space being a precious rareity that was not wasted. Shots from them rained down on the thickened walls of Ultrinaan, with little effect on the walls; but doing considerable damage to Buildings within the city.

Much of the interior would have fallen, if it were not for a raid from a party of Drow on the siege equiptment set up outside the walls. With this setback, the larger part of the Duergar Army fell back to the wastes, where they set up their warcamp and defensive positions. The drow's timely hit and run attack caught them off guard.

For now, This Stalemate leads to a quiet lull in the fighting.

It was a quiet day in ultrinaan, except for the crack of whips, the screams and lamentation from slaves, and the occasional cold-blooded murder or two. Sudden explosions rocked that day, violently shaking the underdark. The water at the shores of the city began to rise; the underlake was flooding. Soon, the city was in several feet of water.

The dwarves had a cunning plan to try and break the Siege. They had gone far upstream, to near the Underlake's Source. Their explosives blasted through the deep rocks, allowing more water to flow into the underlake. While they wanted to flood the Drow city, they did not wish for the entire surroundings to be flooded. Thus, they had constructed a dam, to slowly release the excess water into the lake.

As the water levels rose, Ultrinaan went into alert. The dwarves would likely try to attack the city in its weakned state. Something had to be done.

Fortunately, for the stricken city, scouts had seen much of the Dwarves' work. Several drow set forth, to try and break through their defences and stop the flooding, rushing forth over ground that many drow had fallen on in attempt to do the same.

All was silent, save for the flooding of water and the advancing march of dwarven footsteps, when echoes of explosions from across the Underlake reached the city. The waters began to subside, as the lake returned to its normal water-level. Their raid had apparent success... and the ones that set forth had returned alive, but not unscarred.

A great deal of chaos and confusion occured in the Academy district, as a fire broke out in the Melee Magthere during a scheduled meeting. The building suffered severe damage to its structure and will need several days of repair before it could be used again. Popular rumor attributes the fire to the work of Duergar Sabotuers.

All avialable guards in Melee-Magthere are commanded to search the whole academy district and then other parts of the city for a possible way the duergar saboteur entered Melee-Magthere. Kir'nack waits for any reports, and has threathened to flog one member of each class every day until the reason for the saboteur's presence is uncovered.

((All MM PCs can assume to have also heard this order. If they choose to follow it, you should contact Leggomi for further details, as I know nothing.))

Kir'nack orders other guards to get shallow bowls, fill them with water, and place them around the city. The purpose of these is to detect vibrations in the rock, and this way determine the location of possible enemy tunnels being dug under Ultrinnan.

The order to the warriors is spread around: When a tunnel is detected, the drow will dig their own short one to intercept the underground attackers and destroy their tunnels.

// Yes, In case you were wondering, I've been pretty darn busy lately. I Apologize, but further events will have to be scheduled in advance.//
