Kinda makes the whole "stealth" flavored companion a non-starter. I guess it's consistent with the other companions in that they utterly fail to fulfill their assigned role. Well, except for the badger. *sigh*

Is the road outside Bendir fucking neutral or not? Is it Bendir law or not? What is the deal with this not Bendir but Bendir but neutral route?

I believe Bendir has the ability to ban those who use their road. Considering it is ten feet from their gate.
Bendir is Neutral which means the borders of Bendir are too. While being neutral, there are still laws of the land.
That is a very interesting concept when they give zero f's about anything going on there and people who openly been doing hostile actions there are allowed to stand around, oggling the place for hours. Is it Bendir Dale is or is it neutral is still by question. Or do people simply not want to have any conflict what so ever and only have DMs' throw an event once a week while we eat cakes together over faction borders the rest of the month?
Quote:
The rules were changed, so that banned people can now loiter outside the gates.
That is strange when bot me and Dicey got banned from being outside the Bendir Gates under 24 hours ( lifted on Diceys char, not mine, but still we got told)
I want some reasoning, yes or no, what kind of logic is there when Raven stands around it oggling everyone after all the shit he done and Budly and Ricket get banned for arguing on a god damn meeting?

The classic answer then to everything, just RP it out. Okey then.

It's a classic answer because IC actions should be hashed out IC, not on the forums.
IC actions are not always driven by IC but OOC wishes to keep it neutral among players.

If Bendir Dale is ruled by a cabal of incompetent people in your character's opinion, for whatever reason, then perhaps you could become ruler.
IDK. You could always have just threatened Raven ICly and said "leave or die" and then acted on it. Really I'm not sure what's the OOC problem here.
It's alright to not enjoy playing with a certain faction, too, if you're bored in the Dale. You can try one of the other myriad factions available if you prefer a different crowd because you have issues with the way playstyles in the Dale work.

What other factions exactly? The server got threads about it being dead for a reason. Prime time Europe and it's 5 players online.
The Dale or the players are not boring or the problem in itself.

And how is this called for? I asked in other IC threads with a small OOC note that if you see any errors, send me a PM and I fix it. It was late, I am not an native speaker and tend to write to fast and do bad typo checks. My lack of proper language do not mean my characters have the same issue.

Let's not derail this thread with OOC criticisms. That's not what it's for.
And please, please, please leave IC actions IC.

Dwarves are a mostly Euro based faction, and we have space for more working on getting more things done in the week too. Kohlingen I usually see a couple of people on in Euro hours, Winya is going strong too, and in the Euro Evenings I often see between 5 and 10 Elves on. The Factions are there!

I believe he is unhappy with the current going ons within the factions. He feels like there is no where else he can go. Here is all i can say. Do your own thing and do not care much about the going ons of the faction. Ironically, the best characters in this game are not the ones who devote themselves entirely to a faction, but are able to move between factions, have a core self rather than being a character based on a faction, and quite simply, do whatever they want. If you feel disgruntled with the bendir dale, then look to other places, people and ideas. I know there may not be many people on now and then, but if it comes down to it, you may just have to interact with the world on the forum.

When my character has some hardships with Winya relations, she ended up leaving and for a while was based in Wharftown. Later on joining the Warknights for a time, it quite fun an interesting turnout, not planned one... But it happened. Even through that experience she was actually more involved in goings of the whole island rather than just one specified faction/City. Of course she was bitter about having been forced to leave (Her opinion on it), but sought to do what has been her goals from the start despite that.
Now, she is back to Winya through turnout of events and not sure how long that will last. Much depends on how IC turns out, but now I know that if things do go awry for her, there are always options elsewhere.
My advice to reducing downtime is to arrange something. When you make an event or plan for something to happen, such as an adventure. You're in it regardless and it generates RP to have people involved. If people start to enjoy it and notice that things are happening around you, they are more likely to look for you for that RP. Las made random projects, such as artifact hunting, mapping the island, traveling to another plane, to mention but few.. And those generated RP for her, when she would have just otherwise stood and waited long hours for people to happen by.
Find out what players want to have for their characters, what kind of things they are interested of and go and do it. Talk with IG with chars and ask them OOC too sometimes. Once you know you have few tentative yes, see if a DM would be willing to throw it. IF a yes, good move with the plan. If no in any point, see to it as to why there is a No, what is the reasoning. Is the a boring thing? Is it an impossible feat to do? Re-adjusts and try again. Generates ton of RP when you have to get people on board IC:ly. There is always an IC way to it.

Sorry to hear that.
No worry, I try to do a proper typo check from now on. I tend to be bit to eager to post IC stuff.

They can, mechanically at least. I don't think we've allowed them to be enchanted by the mythal system or had Enchantment Bonuses on monk gloves in stores for balance reasons. You get a 1d20 base weapon, plus up to 2d6 elemental at max, plus strength... it's not a small amount. But then again, GMW has applied to gloves now for years, too.
So I guess you could request it? It might count a bit towards the overall item power, since monks can't cast GMW themselves... then again, neither can fighters when they request +5 enchanted weapons. I'm pretty sure +5 enchantment would still be the limit on gloves as well, although you could likely still request +6 AB instead, as is found on epic gloves already.

Dunno if its a hak-change on our end then, but afaik we can totally add it nowadays. Might get added with the coming lootbin overhaul, don't take that as a promise though, I can't recall if we put new monk gloves in there.

Is there a way to initiate emotes on your character other than the base game radial menu or the emote widget? I'm awfully interested in using the dance emote I see on some of the NPCs, or being able to emote quickly while roleplaying, but I have no idea how to access it.

Unfortunately, it doesn't really have the range that the emote wand item has, nor does it show the new dance animation! Thank you, nevertheless, though, it will at least hopefully cut down on the time that I take to RP.

Dance emotes has to be used with other characters, and they also have to consent.
So use the emote wand on someone you want to emote with, choose what you want to do with them (dance), wait for them to consent (a chat window will appear for them and they can choose the option). Lean back and enjoy!

I see that amia would be unable to show up on that map because of it's size. However, would we then be expanding a bit too much distance to make things seem travelable in a short ammount of time?

The Serpent isle would be a bit longer a travel IC yup.
However, the Yuan-Ti never really made sense in the amian climate and location. Plus a lot of people loved the tropical stuff. Inf act it was one of the most often mentioned "we miss this" things int he thread of what people miss most.
It will get a quest too, we still need to install that though.
It now also gets an interior to the lighthouse, in form of a tavern, some rentable rooms (the ones you can rent till reset for a very small fee) and a lighthouse top.
looking at the map though, it shows amia to be as big as Ruathym. However, amia is only a few Kms long and Ruathym 100 miles.
