Phew

*wipes away some sweat*

viewtopic.php?p=1442841#p1442841

It is done.

I 'think' I got them all. If you spot any missing, please post here (if possible with the details I usually give in the post)

Now, the rewards were the bigger issue. Most I still knew. With those I was not sure I only mentioned gold because about all of them do give that. If you remember any rewards I missed, or even remember the amount of gold that is rewarded, I will gladly update it.

Any other suggestions are welcome. Please note that I would rather keep the OOC info on the thread to the absolute neccessities. So something like posting the name in the journal entry for the quest etc. I rather avoid. Imho the clear mention of the NPC name and location should be rather sufficient to identify/find the quest.

If you are of different opinion you are welcome to post it of course.

Now to the question, I was wondering if I should make a similar guide from the Master of Shapes Guild NPC about locations of IC trainers for additional shifter/druid forms. Or do you feel such should rather be investigated IC? The later is nicer but sometimes maybe hard for newer players. On the other side, those shapes are not really of any "power" value and mostly of RP quality.

I like it for quests, though I'm not sure about the quests with the labyrinth in Cordor. You can certainly start them, and they are not listed. Both Unearthing Arcanum and the one with the Temporal Essence.

Personally, I feel like trainers should be either most or none... So that would (IMO) mean you should also list the same equivalents for Pale Masters, Assassins and Blackguards.
Especially, if (I've never had a druid, much less one with extra shapes) the shapes offer no benefits, I feel like they would be cooler to be learnt IG, since I, personally, had quite some fun finding out BG and Assassin spells for my first time, and the shapes would do the same, without giving your character less power.
So personally, I don't care too much, but I feel like it should be an all or nothing things, even if it, to an extent, makes less sense with the guild to tell people where to learn those evil things...
Personally, I thought looking for the things was fun, but I know a lot of people don't seee it that way...

As someone who doesn't play a druid or shifter perhaps I shouldn't comment as I don't know how it works but personally I think it should be handled mostly in game. I don't know how many there are but could a line of text be added in their conversations that points to the vague location of the next... "oh I've heard" or "Rumour has it" type remarks that point you to the area.
Either that or have an independent npc who dispenses the 'vague' location of most in a similar way, giving it a check perhaps on character level so every couple of levels or so means you can learn a few more shapes? That way you at least give someone some leg work to do while also leaving the shape givers as they are so if someone randomly finds one they can pick it up.

But that's just me.

It's:

Nymph: Druid and Shifter
Pixie: Druid and Shifter
Goblin: Shifter only
Ettercap: Shifter only

I don't mind adding the BG/Assasin ones if ppl feel it is needed, and not better suited in Tarkuul.

Still in favour of in game pointer just to have people explore a little.

I like Walnutboy's idea actually. I feel like some of them could be packed into some more cheezy dialogue from the two hins in Cordor.

I like the idea of some travelling NPC adventurer/wanderer(s) who could answer questions related to where to find what, although not make it obvious. E.g. "Last time I travelled up the Crags, heard about a monastery of sorts just south of Guldorand.." Just an idea.

While a nice idea, it is something that would add to the already gigantic pile of the dev team, and likely be on the low end of that.

I like Gravemaskin's alternative much more than my own! As Amarice said though, understandable that the Devs have a big plate at the moment, so it's just an idea to kick about.

Edit: Or did before it disappeared. :D

You missed the one in the Bugbear caves accessible from Guldorand. Reward is a Bowl of Soup. You have to find the cooks missing friends. They are adventurers and have all met a grisly demise.

Could always add it as 'rumours' board and rather than giving the exact specifics merely hint at it. I find it odd that such information would be on the adventuring guilds boards is all. Nothing to stop you adding to the devs 'things to consider' list though and remove the forum post (or not) at a later date. It isn't exactly a must have game breaking thing that needs putting in right away.. is it?

I was told that one was disabled.

Guess we could add it to the town criers, they are out of date anyways.

"We heard there is a Hawk talking to some people in the Frontier! Do the animals of Amia become sentient? Or do the people become insane?"

Yeah I removed it since as pointed out, the Devs have more than enough on their plate and it's better for them to work on higher priority stuff than add an IC redundancy to the forum information again.

I'll repost it though, since you liked it.

My idea was to have retired adventurers with colorized names placed in every tavern that you can talk to for information on everything from quests, to class restricted stuff (such as hidden merchants, abilities etc) to a quick summarized history as it'd make it easy for new players to recognize them as special when entering a tavern and then get the information they might need in game instead of looking it up on the forum. Downside of this is that it doesn't add anything new (since it's all on the forum anyway) and it'd probably require a lot of man hours to sort out the convo scripts etc, and that time could probably be better spent on more important matters.

Adding mention of questgivers and class unique NPC's to the town criers does the same, but would probably require a lot less work since all the framework is already in place, and as such I think it's a much better idea.

I think, due to the amount of quests, this is not doable for the quest one.

However, what I could see, is add the Master of Shapes (who currently is only on DM access) to the guild area and give him a little conversation in game where you can ask him about other teachers.

IF any of our Devs knows how to set up such a conversation, I have no issues to write the text for it so they can just copy paste it in.

I think that's sounds pretty reasonable. Giving a 'hub' area for certain things helps to create a point of interaction beyond there being seats in a square people can land on.

Write the text, and I can make up the convo and strap it to the NPC.

Since that info came from me and I since double-checked. The quest is still in place. It was apparently slanted to be removed but it seems that never happened. Imo it can stay in place.

Isn't there a guy in Corder looking for the water from the waterfall by Winya? One of the clothing merchants?

Spare A Coin, Friend? in Cordor. Alignment-appropriate quest, also. :D

It's not really a "job", though. Maybe they could do a miscellaneous section? Haha. But it may not be appropriate for what they're going for IC. Maybe a general note to give money to the poor of Cordor, to make people look for it.

I checked it in-game and did it. There's no quest log entry for doing it, so that's probably why it got mixed up. you can also "complete" it without actually doing anything, and just guessing what happened to his friends. Only get XP for the right answers, though!

Found this, not sure if it is still around on the forum or not.

http://www.emielament.nl/documents/amiafaq/amiafaq.html

and this,

viewtopic.php?f=2&t=84970&view=print

I love the player map that used the areas themselves, provides a good idea on how small everything is. It also makes me chuckle on how kohiligin has control of wharftown and Cordor has control of goulderand when both are closer to the other city.

Also, it seems amia is 75% hill country. This is based on the changes of elevation.

Also, it seems a lot of the things that come up are from sinfar when looking for amia maps on google.
