Howdy! I'm new to the server and enjoying it so far. I messed up on my build and am going to remake, however before I do I found out there's this section of the forums where really helpful people give advise! I'm interested in a Necromancer build but I feel like there's a lot of casters on this server so I wanted to go more melee. Yes, I understand you'll end up with low BAB and low Caster Level... Here was my thought though.
Wizard9/Fighter1/PM20
I don't have the play by play of the leveling process, but the idea would be to get Improved Critical and use Extended Keen to keep your crit range 10-20. Take Epic Still Spell III so that you can cast all of your spells while wearing full armor. This allows you to fill up your spellbook with buffing spells which really don't need to worry about caster level and DC's. Essentially you'd be able to sit in combat buffed enough to do some damage swinging while putting on Death Armor, Sheath, and Elemental Shield to return what little dmg got through to you.
Now I don't know what the end game looks like for this server yet so maybe its a bit harder and going either pure fighter or pure wizard would be more advised... If you guys simply don't think it would work very well mechanically (Don't get me wrong I'm interested in RP aspects but RP is only so much fun if you're the scared-y cat bubble boy of fights) then I understand and to the trashcan with it.
However, if you don't think melee/spell buffing/high AC PM works then I would greatly appreciate a 'Necromancer' caster build that perhaps somehow incorporates just enough of the PM fun to enjoy the RP of things while still getting full use of the caster enough to be a help to parties end game. Would it be more worth it to just go 30 Wizard and 'RP' the Necromancer antics or perhaps just take Epic Spell Focus Necromancy?
I would suggest something along the lines of Fighter 10/Wizard 4/Palemaster 16 instead. you'll end up with more HP and more attack bonus. Your caster level is unfortunately going to be pretty garbage no matter how you slice it, but I think you'll have more fun as the more martial flavored variant than trying to make a 9 caster level meleer work.
Keep in mind on the server the damage shields like Death Armor and Elemental shield don't stack with each other, so you'll only be able to take one of them.
The server also has a few armors you can wear that have reduced Arcane Spellfailure on them, making it easy to nix Auto-Still from the build entirely and still keep good AC. This will save you a lot of feats in epic.
If you do still want to do the very wizard heavy version of the build I would suggest doing Wizrd 10 and Palemaster 19 - you'll lose 2 AC but you'll pick up an extra wizard feat. Definitely worth it, considering at the AC you'll be sitting at, 2 AC isn't going to make much of a functional difference. The problem, though, is your spells are going to collapse at astiff breeze - I played near the exact build you want to play and ended up finally shelving it ebcause although the character was a lot of fun to RP, I just couldn't get behind trying to RP as an archmage and powerful necromancer when characters doing content less than half his level had more powerful spells. All you really ave going for you is your summons - your spellbook is going to be nothing but low duration, low effectiveness buff spells.

Well, low-duration, weak spells... I'd disagree. However, dispel is going to really screw you over. Personally, and tried in a Amia hak test world, I'd probably just make a caster who likes to stand in the middle of combat. Your AB is low anyway, so you could take imp expertise, technically. It might be a bit boring sitting in combat with no AB and 80 AC, but it isn't hat weak. HP is decent. Biggest problem are saves in there. At the same time, you have pretty nice Necromancy spells if you go full caster... On the other hand, I'm no builder, so no idea.
Consider a STR based 8Bard/12PM/10DC if your looking for a melee based semi-undead abomination. Otherwise you can definatly just be a normal Wizard with Epic Necro focus. Theres no actual need to be a Palemaster in order to be a Necromancer. 23Wiz/7PM or 21Wiz/9PM are good options. You lose out on crit but you'll have good CL and access to epic spells. 23 Wiz gives a bonus feat. 9PM gives the Winterwight summon.
Note you'll atleast 21 Wizard/Sorc levels or 15PM levels to get Epic spells (aswell as atleast 20INT/20CHA)
15Wiz/13PM/2Rogue is probably your best bet for a heavy PM based caster. 16Wiz/13PM/1Rogue for Winterwight instead of evasion.

4 Fighter/10 Wizard/16 PM showed some promise as I tested it.
- 469 Hp - 3 Epic Spells(Epic Mage Armor, Greater Ruin and Mummy Dust being my picks) - 72 AC Fully buffed with Full plate and Tower shield(No expertise, can be fitted in, tho) - 36 AB, which can be further buffed with Aid/Bless/Tenser(5) and whatever junk you find(Bit low here) - Epic Spell Focus: Abjuration for those Amian Abjuration spell goodies.
All in all, I think this build has plenty of survivability unless it is dispelled, but even then he's still crit immune and wearing his Epic Mage Armor. The Mummy Dust summon should be decent tank and dmg dealer, even if it only lasts 26 minutes in this scenario(Perhaps switch feats around for the proper Epic Spell focus to extend?). With only 10 Wizard levels, the familiar sadly turns in to RP flavor and can not be used in combat( I reckon you'd need atleast 21 Wizard levels to use it in combat). 26 Wizard/PM levels should net you Greater Mummy from PMs Create Greater Undead, providing a back-up summon in case Mummy Dust expires early. 36 AB is low, but I've found that it -can- work, especially with spells like Darkness that take advantage of flat-footing opponents, maybe buff it with Aids(1), Bless(1), Divine Favour(1), War Cry(2), Blood Frenzy(1) and Tenser (5, but you can't cast spells while it's on) for bosses? The builds saves aren't great, but I didn't consider them hopeless ether, with 25/14/17 Fort/Reflex/Will I think there's enough potential to boost them high enough with gear, since Epic Mage Armor removes the need to stack AC on anything but Shield and Boots.
But there's my take on Spellcasting-melee Palemaster.

Biting.
Please don't try to fit epic spells on a melee pale master. The difference is literally just 6 AC and you're giving up a shot at having a 600+ HP, 45 AB behemoth of crit immunity.
Like the last thread, I'll readily throw a full build spread your way. Only answering one though because I don't feed altitis fires.

It's altitis if you make 2 characters?
I'm brand new to the server and I always have one main and one backup character. One is too few, you can't always be in the mindset of that character's RP. I'll only spread to three if I've been playing for a very long time and I retire one of the previous two for the sake of diversity to prevent impending boredom.

Ahhh. I get ya. Sorry. I never understood the dual focus deal xD
Anyway! I can totally ship this off to you too. Lemme actually get a writeup. And about 6 hours of sleep.
