Children of Webs +The spider quest right out of cordor. Lets count the issues.
1. You have to run the dungeon twice for some reason because you arn't allowed to kill spider eggs without the npc telling you to do it.
2. You have to 'destroy the eggs.' This isn't, of course, done by interacting with the environment. You use some random object which I believe just spawns into your inventory, the game then comically fades to black, and then the quest is done, the environment is identical and you have a helmet magically in your inventory.
3. There was apparently a decision to make at some point but guess what? It doesn't matter. See below;
http://i.imgur.com/CH0CDSm.jpgYou can do the quest either way and just lie about it. No difference in dialogue on his end either the quest giver actually just says
literally the SAME THING regardless of what you say or did, his responses are actually identical.
So whats the point of this fake dialogue choice? There's a bluff check system in the game that could be used or something but I guess that wasn't used here. Why is the dialogue literally exactly the same? Why do you have to do the dungeon
twice why can't you just make the call yourself when you see the spider eggs? Why is there a random fade to black and then NOTHING CHANGES when it comes back? Why isn't there an intractable that could pop when you 'destroy' it? Why do I have to get this random item in my inventory and then use it to complete the quest? What's with the bizarre fade to black at all? This quest is seriously a fallout 4 or dragon age 2 thing. It doesn't matter what you say or do the outcome is binary, iscomplete=1 or 0. The farce along the way is meaningless and the outcome is even more so, rendered even more shallow by the fact that none of the 'decisions' you make at all actually impact a thing.
Recommendation; Gut or fix the quest. Replace all the random ass scripting, fade to black, random ass item, replace all of it with a clickable spider egg you destroy when you click on it. Remove the requirement to run the dungeon twice by allowing the player to click the clickable when they get there, not after they run back and 'get permission' from that NPC to complete the quest. If there is going to be a second option, give it unique dialogue and a separate reward. Because if you don't do that it's all utterly meaningless and literally may as well not exist.
