The hak update is a wrap and ready for release. You can expect the modules to be updated with it in the next days. The official release will be announced by the team soon. But I felt it appropriate to make a new topic to thank those who worked on it. This update has seen by far more inhouse custom content made specifically for the community than any other update before it.
Eurgiga has created over two dozen robes, tons of new shields, cloaks, belts, wings, weapons, helmets, and holdables. He has helped others who were making content to this update, and I cannot praise him enough for the tremendous work and time he has put in to create all this fantastic content. On top of that all, he also helped me with some of the general hak work and taking off some of the burden of looking over the submissions.
PassionateShadow has just started learning the ropes as a custom content maker, but has textured not only both chainmail and platemail city sigil tabbards, but also textured several dozen of really cool quality shields. Even for someone experienced, that is tons of work. You all should be really excited what this one will make in the future as he continues to learn new things.
Polris, who in the last update has made tons of custom placeables for us, has not been idle either. Three helmets and a new bastard sword will be available for you all because of him. The dwarves especially should thank him for those cool new helmets!
And even a DM made a contribution. All those jergalites who now can have a deity symbol cloak, that is thanks to Silkelock.
Finally, I want to thank the dev-team / dm-team testers (Amarice, Grymia, Anatida and MsHeeler) and the players who joined in during the last days (Lutra, Eurgiga, dimension_w, Richard_Edmund, linlan, GoblezLunar, and Dead). If I have forgotten anyone, please let me know! My mind tends to be mush after these updates!
When exploring the updated areas of the Salandran Temple and Kohlingen, make sure to keep an eye out for a handful of new merchant NPCs. These sell the majority of the new holdables. Surgical tools, holy symbols, 2 tomes, cotton candy, censers, etc. There is also one really neat scripted item in one of the shops (thanks to Mimiron!) that is very very cool.
This was my last submission as a member of the development team, and I hope you all enjoy it! And thanks again to all of the custom content makers. Working with you folks was always really exciting and fun! I will miss seeing your creativity at work!

Kohlingen was one of the most beautiful updates this server has seen in a little bit. The castle set that was selected and re textured for it gives it such gondor' feeling to me, that it almost made me want to go put my request in for Lady of Kohlingen, but then I realized... I would have to level, so I settled for hanging out there little more with Nyacelil.
Poney. I want to express to you how great it was to reconnect during our little beta viewing. Alot of these new folks don't go as far back as you and I on this server. I mean you and I, can remember the birth of Tinnerai. (But yes, I'm not sure that's good or bad thing.) hehe.
Without rehashing the joys of memory lane we shared yesterday, I want to thank you sincerely for all the work you have done as Dev. Your decision in moving on is both bitter and sweet as we will no longer befit from your technical creative expertise, yet perhaps we will get to enjoy your artistic nature in game as player once more.
When you are playing amia and you see prissy blondle sun elf walk by in the new badassness that is Kohlingen. Don't be staranger! I promises you she only pretends to be prissy.
Thank you again my friend, Your long time Amia, and NWN Friend Ryoko-

Just to point out, most of it is not a free update, I think. Kohlingen will require to work towards the improvements and in one case, just about removing an area. (Spoilers, sweety)

@ GolbezLunar Thank you so much for the kind words. With projects that take this long and are so much work, the appreciation of the playerbase means a lot and makes it feel like the effort was more than worth it!
@ Richard_Edmund The update is indeed based on a lot of ic developments that have occurred during a long time of Kohlingen's storylines, and a lot of gold and materials that were invested in it. Other changes are simply "as always have been", or design related to optimize the module. Yossarin and I have worked on a great lore topic for Kohlingen, that will be hopefully released in the near future. There you will be able to read up on everything! So keep your eyes peeled for that!
@ Dead That will be a task for the lovely people remaining on the dev-team. But indeed, as always, they will strive to make content available for you folks. Kohlingen simply has them first, as I did the area parallel and wanted to make sure that it is available to some extend at least when it goes in game. Just like during the last update, the Cordor Merchant Hall got the new holdables first! For now, just send someone who is not banned to get what you want for an additional payment.

Is it not a simple matter of copy/pasting an NPC? There's been 2-3 HAKs already and Tarkuul got absolutely nothing from it.
I do not have or ever had direct access to the server mod. If I had, then yes it would be that simple. A lot of my work would have been easier and simpler. You just need to let the dev-team know and be patient. I am sure you can survive a bit without the shop being in Tarkuul.
I also sent in my work, and now am retired.
Edit: Oh, and I remember distinctly that Glim requested custom content for Tarkuul in the last update, and did quite a lot of regular updates for the city for a good while.
The development team has a long list of projects and work on their plate. Your request is not the only small one. It is among a lot of small ones that were made before yours. Those get handled next to things like MsHeeler currently having to spent hours to tediously edit the craft script for every robe, shield and other craftable item. Like those necromancer robes the tarkuulians are drooling for. She does so, because she would like all of the playerbase being able to have access to the new content as soon as possible. That in addition of needing to update the module with hak and new areas, on top of what ever needs to go in atm.
From what I understand the Improve Amia forum has been closed currently because of having a lot of things to handle right now. A polite request to one of the dev team might be best. A pm would suffice, or maybe an ooc topic in the Tarkuul forum. Not sure how the Dev Team prefers to have such things handled during the time the IA forum is locked. If they get to it soon, that is great. If not, just be patient.

A massive thank you to all those that contributed to this project and certainly to the head Pony! Your work and hours and hours of effort are much appreciated.
Hey everyone, I am afraid Eurgiga caught a minor mistake on my part yesterday. The fix is very easy and you will not have to redownload the whole hak pack. If you downloaded on May 6th, just download this new version of the top2.hak ----here---- and you are good to go. It is only around 200kb in size.
If you updated on May 7th or later, you already have the correct top2.hak and are all good to go.
Terribly sorry about the inconvenience and hassle!
I noticed the names of the top2's are different. Do we need both, or just this fixed one?

There was another hak hiccup big enough to force a fix. The fix is in and we're testing everything right now. We're hurrying!

To elaborate on it, we caught three small unanticipated bugs with the old content caused by the new we felt important to fix. It retextured two of the old deity cloaks, and one was a pretty popular choice. As a result, I have reopened testing and we have been sweeping through all the old stuff in the categories we added content to. The chance for this occurring is usually very low, but I wanted to be confident we got them all none the less.
I am doing a final sweep tomorrow, and then we should be good to go to prepare the module for an update. For those who have already downloaded the hak, you will just need to re-download the top2.hak again for about 5mb.
The chance for hak updates of this size to be completely bug-free is pretty low. I do not remember a single hak update where we did not have an issue be found at some point. It is why I prefer to have both dev and player testing. But when a small of them group appears, you can be sure I will go over everything once more.
