So I just wanted to say thank you guys for allowing me to join such a great community of RP'ers. The funny part is I feel like I arrived here as a joke. I've always been a huge fan of RP games. A little background of how I got here:

I play a game called DayZ Stand Alone, it's pretty much like The Walking Dead. Unfortunately if you play on public servers it turns into just shoot people you don't know IRL and take their stuff. Thankfully there is a really great RP community for the game. Well in this game they have really cool voice chat. Your voice comes from your character like real life so instead of typing all the time, everyone RP's in voice. There's some neat voice RP'ers out there. Well anyway, during my course of playing the game I ran into quite a few people who RP with text. This was pretty interesting for me, because I got my start RPing in chat rooms growing up. Well one day on TS, a bud pops into our channel and says: What are you guys doing? And one of my friends completely joking says: We're playing DnD, now the dragon roars at you in anger, what do you do? This made me laugh cause I've always heard DnD talked about but never experienced it for myself.

Well one night on a typical late night trip through the internet I discover this place. I'm a huge Game of Thrones fan, and really do have a soft spot for the fantasy Genre. I never expected this game (it's pretty old looking) to have a community like this before. Well long story short after spending a couple days trying to figure out how to build a character I finally created one I'd be happy exploring the server with and I can not tell you how awesome everyone has been. My first day logging in, I follow the prompts and get the package delivery quest and am a little overwhelmed by the huge list. Well when walking around trying to figure out where all of them go I bump into this guy and through RP he ends up offering to help. The dude actually walks with me to all the places where a package goes and RP's with me the whole way. It was a blast. Several people have sent me tells OOC asking if I need help and offering their assistance or to answer any questions I may have since I'm new.

I just want to say that not only am I extremely grateful to be allowed to join the community, I am loving every minute of it. Haven't played DayZ since I started playing this game so clearly I must be enjoying it. :) My question is... is there a way to advertise this place? It was pure coincidence that I found this place, and seeing as this game looks about as old as Baldur's Gate (My first PC RPG) I don't know if new people will find this easily. With permission of course I'm going to show this place to a couple friends of mine from the other RP game I play and see if they'll want to join me here some too, but I feel like this community deserves some attention for the amazing experience it offers. Plus some of my friends don't have the best PC's and DayZ can be hard on the rig. They should be able to run this one no problem though. :)

Anyway just wanted to throw out my first impression and say thanks to everyone for making this place feel like a home away from home. Here's to many hours of fun, great stories, and new friends.

Cheers mates!

I doubt that anyone would tell you not to advertise to your friends (especially if they're european), so go right ahead and get more players to come join the fun! :)

I'm glad you've had a fun arrival here. Having returned just recently myself, and with so, so many people gone with whom I used to play, I feel semi new aswell, so I feel your non-pain. Amia is great, it really is, and I hope you'll continue to have all the fun in the world here.

Haha you are so innocent! I wholeheartedly envy you, as I recall my first day on Amia, and my first delivery quest. :D

Some tips:
- Read the rules of the server thoroughly.
- When in doubt ask
- Have fun and be fun
- And of course: Stay a while, stay forever.

- if you see a guy with a skull mask and two bone arms, run.

Welcome!

I see you're already familiar with the forum. It's a good place to find interesting groups of PCs to RP with and a PM is a great way to find out more information.

And it's not the boney arm's you have to watch out for.... its the Hin! (unless you like to be turned pink, in which case, they are as cool as cotton candy.)
