The leader of the small group politely appologizes for the inconvinience and explains that he was under the impression they had been informed and that this was discussed beforehand.
He then arranges a brief meeting with the mayor, inquiring if their assistance is wanted and needed or if he'd prefer them to join their brethen in one of the other cities rather.
Until the situation is settled, the small group temporarily sets up some tents somewhere out of the way of the main traffic until they recieve new instructions.

The Warband's Operations Commander is seen inspecting the detachment of the People's forces near Bendir Dale on a daily basis. It is obvious that the officer is a perfectionist -- and that the same commitment to detail and discipline is demanded of those under his command. The elves are drilled regularly; and, while not training, subordinate commanders meet with their superior to deliver regular reports.
During his brief visits he makes it a point to address the local population - both military leaders and public officials - to see if there is any way that he and his soldiers may offer aid. Any that appear to be disgruntled or displeased with their presence are treated with courtesy, the sun elf typically offering a polite and subdued apology for their inconvenience. Whether it is menial labor, access to resources, or relief of a post, Ronyo makes it a point to oblige where he is able. It is clear that he wishes to ensure the hin village that the deployment is not an attempt to breach their sovereignty but a gesture of goodwill and assistance.

Ren seems to arrive with a small crew of scouts as he makes his rounds. Having met Nof before he goes to speak quickly with the leader of the troops of the Dale.
"Nof we met a small time back. We spoke among a council before and I told you we would help reinforce the Dale when the time was needed. If it is too much let us known and we can easily move elsewhere but our archers are very skilled and when the time comes they should be of great aid. I hope you do not mind but if you do send word and we will see it changed. Thank you for your time. Seldarine bless."
After the small exchange the Warband Commander goes about checking on things around the area. He links with some of those left around the area and joins them with his scouts in killing of some orcs. He leaves some arrow designs and quivers for his kin their to look over and help them be better armed. After the small hunt the group heads off in the Groves direction and then to elven lands. Leaving little trace of even being there or leaving.

With the recent influx of some two hundred residents of Bendir Dale, Crow assigns the elven troops to maintain their positions, while the Grove rangers keep the path safe for the refugees. When the last of the smaller folk have passed through the forest, the rangers resume their positions, and patrols go back to 'normal'.
Knowing many of the people that flock to Oakmist, from Bendir, Crow helps them to find a place comfortable for them. Also knowing they prefer a community atmosphere, he tries to find somewhere more open and flat, for the elderly and mothers with their young. He reassures them that the earth elementals will not smush the children, as long as they don't try to climb the stoic defenders. He tries to remind the children, that most of the wolves are not like Trinaur, and they might not like sweet stickies stuck to their fur, but most of the animals will probably stay clear of all the new tenants of the Grove anyway. The badgers...well, they pretty much do what they want, but they give clear warning when you have gotten close enough. Crow helps set up tents for them, establishes a line of communication with the groups leader, and offers his assistance with their needs.
Later, after the dust settles some, Crow dresses for cold weather and portals away. Upon his return, he offers bison hides and meat, to the Bendir and Winya camps, along with the various things he foraged for, during his hunt.

Quote: Engagement on the Trackless Sea:
On the 28th of Eleint, the naval forces of the Alliance joined with those of the Wiltun jarldom in a coordinated attack upon a massive Amnish armada poised to invade Amia. With this massive armada was a horde of Maztican warriors, set to bring death and destruction to northern Amia by their Arcanum-Amnish taskmasters.
Engaging the enemy armada in a brutal battle, Alliance-Wiltun forces were vastly outnumbered. The Amnish had an estimated three-hundred plus vessels in their armada. Allied naval forces were outnumbered well over three-to-one. The Maztican horde outnumbered Alliance marine forces nearly thirty-to-one, by conservative estimate. In spite the dire odds, no less than two-hundred enemy vessels were sent to the sea-floor, and no less than 65,000 enemy combatants were slain.
The High Command commends the efforts of Allied-Wiltun officers, soldiers, sailors, and joining Amian adventurers who saw victory in the face of dire odds.
Deepest condolences and gratitude are extended to those who lost loved ones in this pivotal battle. Know that your sacrifices are not in vain, and shall be remembered. Countless innocent lives have been protected, and a decisive victory against the enemy was won.
The Holy City of Kohlingen honors the brave crews of the Stout Oak and Ocean Defender, war vessels of the naval forces of Barak Runedar. Two dwarven crews who gave their lives in the defense of their allies. The honor and sacrifices of the dwarven soldiery shall never be forgotten by the people of Kohlingen.
The High Command also welcomes the jarldom of Wiltun to the Great War against Amn and the Arcanum. We offer our commendation and thanks to the Wiltunian forces, whose bravery and tenacity on the seas was essential in securing our victory against the Amnish armada and the Maztican horde. Your dead shall be honored and remembered alongside those who have already fallen in defiance of the tyrannical designs of Sigismund Selemchant and the mad folly of Collin Reyes.
May the gods of light and reason continue to guide us.

*A final written statement is issued to the soldiers of the Alliance by the Lord Field Marshall.* Pony wrote: Collin Reyes is defeated, the Arcanum's machinations are unraveled, and the withdrawal of Amnish war vessels from Amian waters is underway. The Great War has been won, and hostilities are now at an end. Once he had been brought down in two different time lines, by the valiant efforts of those who dared to rise up against him in final battle, he was subjected to the judgment of the Gods.
He has been weighed, he has been measured, and he has been found wanting. His punishment was subsequently carried out, and Collin Reyes was transformed into a Zeitgeist, commanded to undo all the damage he has brought upon the realms.
In light of the victory of the joint military campaign, I have with great pride issued my final command as Lord Field Marshall and Head of the War Council of the Alliance. Our garrisons in Bendir Dale, Cordor and Wharftown have been given their orders to return to the City of Kohlingen, from which those of our dwarven allies may then continue onward to their own home. The War Council is hereby disbanded, and military authority returned solely to the three States, as it was before the war.
I shall until the last of my days remember my officers and soldiers with pride, fondness and respect. Soldiers of Kohlingen, Barak Runedar and the Duchy of Cordor, it was an honor and a privilege, and you hold my deepest gratitude for your services and sacrifices. I could not have been honored with command of a better military force for this war.

At the Bendir Dale camp in Oakmist Vale, the ranger captain of the Grove assists his friends of the little community break down their encampment. He would seek volunteers of his rangers, to help with the elderly and the mothers with children. Tents, and the things in them, campfires and kettles, provisions and things, are packed away and made ready for transport.
Crow seeks out Mayor General Nof, to coordinate when the residents may return, and assures him that the same level of safety will be provided on the trek home. Oakmist Vale Rangers escort the caravan through Amia Forest, southwards they go to the north gate of Bendir Dale, and back home again.

In the dim hours of the morning, before Lathanders orb rose to grace Bendir Dale with its light, the warriors of the People's Warband ready themselves for their departure. Tents are broken down, rucksacks are packed, and equipment is stowed -- all in sober silence. No victory songs are sung; no marching tunes are played; no farewells are spoken. In less than an hour the soldiers of Winya Ravana were gone without a trace, silently vanishing like ghosts in the early morning mist.

Is the project big or small? The Bendir West Seas Company has connections to lumberjacks in the region but only really brokers deals in large quantities.

*Crow arrives in Bendir Dale, carrying a poster, that he sets up, nothing fancy, but a public notice for all to see. He also places one near the carts*Quote: Notice from Oakmist Vale
The cause of the animals dying near the pond, in Amia forest, has been determined to be a rare herb, that has taken root in the forest. The herb is poison to HOOVED animals, and seems to be harmless to others, so far as we know. It is being studied by Oakmist druids.
The carcasses of the dead animals will lay as they fall, so that the animals will learn naturally, to avoid the herb. Yes, this will be of some discomfort to some, but be it as it may, that is the order of things. Soon, instinct will take over, and the animals will naturally avoid eating what kills them.
Also, the herb will be permitted to grow as it may, under the watchful eyes of the druids of Oakmist Vale.~~CrowRanger Captain, Oakmist Vale // On the poster is a drawing of a plant with six knife shaped blades

Esteemed Mayor General Nof and co-General Public,
I am beset with grief over the fact that out fine folks in uniform and most adventuring sorts I see only wielding bows, darts, or daggers when confronting foes at range. Not a one of them seems fully versed in the Hin tradition of War Sling Sniping. This grief is just too much for my precious, Lightfoot heart to bear. Therefore, I renew my volunteering to take on volunteers and teach them the old ways of the Sling! Every fine soldier and adventuring sort should volunteer for this honor lest you get Voluntold by your friends that do!
Leave word for me right here, at the Hinn Inn, if you want to sign up for lessons!
Yours' truly,
Toby Highthistle~Tumbleaf War Slinger, Inventor, Competitive Eater of Pies, Master of the Ancient art of the Whoop'n'Chair

Mayor Nof manages to finish his term but wishes to step back and focus on other things which means we have elections once again in the Dale. Nof will not be eligable for re-election and we thank him warmly for his leadership in trying times.

A letter is left rather unceremoniously tacked to the wall behind Jannah's desk, and is only really noticable due to every other standing trade contract having been taken down.
To whom it may concern,
As the new year draws closer, and new elections are called to determine leadership of the Dale for the next year or so; I take this opportunity to tender my resignation as Bendir Dale town treasurer. As a cleric of Waukeen it has been my pleasure to serve this township through harsh times of war and famine, but it is also due to matters of faith that I must put this place behind me. Since my turning away from the faith of Cyrolallee it has always been difficult for me to face the lifestyle of my own kin in some ways. In this instance over the past few months it has felt that my own style of economic guidance focused upon the advancement of the community of Bendir Dale has overshot this town's will to simply exist in a state of moderate wealth and prosperity.
While a fine assistance in times of crisis, I feel this community no longer needs me. Trade will always flow from this town so long as it remains healthy, but if there is no call to move beyond this situation of unchanging means of supply in this region; then my services are nothing more than a hindrance to this community, and a disservice to my own faith.
I wish the good folk of this Dale all the best in their future endeavours, and promise to return should this place come to dire circumstance once again. However the call of faith draws me elsewhere, where I can work for the betterment of the entire island more effectively.
Sincerely, ~Jannah Delia Bandis-Vindle.

With the Militia I have proposed, I will like it to be known, there IS Infact a militia, it however just lacks the man power to protect outside the walls, I do not wish to limit or tell our citizens to stay behind the walls, as that'd just be pointless as many of us prefer to converse and greet guests and converse long the road, I have traded letters with Nof, and with his welcome, will still form this Militia, to help the current one, My Militia is a Adventurer Militia, while the Dale Militia keep watch and protection behind the walls, Our goal will be to guard our lands and roads beyond the gate, within Bendir jurisdiction, I am clarifying this, as Not to impose nor over go, Mayor Nof's Authority, He will Lead the militia and that will not change, anything I or my militia will do, Will be reported to Nof, Two Militia, Separate but unified in our protection of the Dale, Thank you and sorry for any assumptions I have made.
With Loyalty, Cade Burrow

Good luck, buddy. No one will respect your authority, any action to enforce a state of law will be called tyranny, and anyone you stop from hurting people will be returning endlessly no matter what you do, short of using black magic to imprison their souls or to geas them into slavery.
It's an awful job, but I'm glad someone has the guts to try once again.

I do agree that there will be tough times ahead of anyone who does join the militia. You can moan and groan about not having any respect in your authority; be called so and so; have enemies turn up every so often. It is what you sign up for.
What many of the previous militia members lacked was a healthy consistent goal and mindset because of this. Don't lose yourself into the whole 'law enforcing' part of it, solid evidence of this suggests it's any militia member's undoing. That's how they've driven themselves out. You won't fall into the footsteps of 'some' if you keep true to yourself, and your goals. Never forget that even the militia aren't alone in this, everyone has support.

This notice finds its way in Bendir Dale:
Dear Hin of the Dale,
The Jarldom of Wiltun would like to sponsor an agricultural study on breeding a sample flowerseed to be gifted to the able hands of your best fieldsmen. Payment for producing a positive bloom surplus this Spring cycle will exceed no less than one-million coins to be paid to the research team for the successful breeding and output of this said flower. The guards at the main gate (by the carts) would have heard and seen a mage in dark grey and black with a red glowing crystal tipped staff confronting a Snow Elf in white clothing. The mage accused her of throwing a rock at him, to which she simply picked up another rock and made him go away. Shortly after which, he returned, her feline started moving towards him, he cast Finger of Death on it, and they began bickering anew. In the background the man in brown robes with a gold bordered helmet who identifies himself as David Baker, began to morph into several different shapes to ward himself. The Elf attacked the mage, the mage cast Greater Ruin on David, and David assumed the form of a Stone Golem and started taking swings at the mage. Not long after this, the mage cast Finger of Death on the Elf, killing her. Continuously casting powerful magic missiles, he forced David into a retreat. The guards at the bridge would have seen in the distance David morph out of Stone Golem, assume the shape of something transparent, disappear entirely, the mage would then be coming slightly into view and summoning an undead Pharaoh, the transparent thing assumed to still be David tore into the mage knocking him down, before the bridge gate went up, obscuring view.
David would have then told the guards at the main gate that he killed the Necromancer, a woman named Ahrianna can testify this fact, and he kicked the mage into the river. David also said he'd be finishing up a mugshot style painting of the man, and is willing to give said painting to a halfling named 'Cade.'

// OOC: Hey folks please read over the rules prior to writing "IC" posts about events that have occurred. Please scroll down to "Roleplaying Etiquette" and you will see "Never include someone else’s character in a written story that didn’t actually happen exactly as you wrote it without letting that character’s player proofread and approve the story before you post it. " In this case, I know the mage that was killed and he did not proofread this and claims that this did not happen in the manner described, so please remove it. If you want please post your character's recollection as some sort of IC message of what happened and please do not use third person of events that have occurred unless a DM has approved such. Remember we all want to have fun here! Thanks again.

I am the mage in question on this incident. However, the facts did not happen exactly as described. For one the shifter turned into an undead form inside the gate, the mage was hit by two rocks, and many other things. If you want to take the view point of a guard please get DM approval.

// This post was the best description of the event which took place. I did not RP for the guards, I essentially stated what they would have seen in LoS to justify my character's actions. If you have a problem with it, tell a DM to look at this, and I'll talk to them about it.
Edit: I was even advised by another player to do exactly that.

The rush of adventurers looking for meteors has not been without consequences as they have left a trail of slain yeti's, wolves, spiders and giants behind them, nearly soaking the once pristine white peak of the skull Crags with blood. Denizens of the nearby communities in Guldorand, Bendir Dale and Oakmist Vale are getting nervous about noticably increased activity and organisation on top of the mountain as the disturbed denizens seem to be getting ready for some bloody pay-back.

*A pink haired Hin tags a note near the notice*
How is the election's process going? Many of our residents have urged to get the Dale bursting with activity again. Our community has fallen to a state where it's dangerously quiet, particularly in a vulnerable state with certain problems occurring. Right now an active presence and response is in order to deal with them, and other local issues inside the Dale. Including the increasing amount of ideas that could really benefit the Dale, now is the time to get the elections moving!

*A piece of parchment is soon tagged next to Rosary's* "It is with this note I implore Bendir Dale's Elders summon the strength to respond to the younger folk, much like we did back during an intense period when we needed direct intervention. Ms. Doodlekins is trying her utmost best to push this forward once more, and it is with this note I push my support for her summons.

I've been away for awhile and recently have been easing my way back in, however I notice there doesn't seem to be much activity by any admins (DM's and such). I have noticed a few player responses, but was wondering what the power heirarchy currently is. Will there be an election in the near future? Is this current player organized militia legit DM/Mayor approved? (I'd like to thank Dancer for the effort to get something organized, btw)
There seems to be a small, but growing population rekindling in the Dale, and having a leader (Player and/or DM-based) would have the growth process tremendously.
[Obviously I am a US player, so if there are other things happening during Euro times I apologize. I don't want to offend anyone if my post comes off that way, I just wanna know where things stand with the Dale to know what I need to do as a player to contribute to it's prosperity in a positive manner.]
THANKS

Currently Hudson is leading the Dale as Mayor Nof, though he has just stepped down and stated he will clear things up for Bendir this weekend. As far as I am aware the next election is coming up, I hope to see Bendir chirp up some soon, kinda miss the place, but doubt Thea would go back legitimately.

Pretty much everything Broldi said. Hudson stepping down and being inactive has stunted some player efforts, however he promised to help sort everything out next weekend, so we should see the election process start up again.
Really, only thing "wrong" with Dale is just being stagnant, which I'd much prefer as opposed to the two not-so-recent-but-still-recent-regardless of Dale being stagnant of DM input to the point where we had OOC conflict between players as we had some very PvP-focused folk harassing us and ignoring guards.
So all-in-all, just wait until next week is over before we start scratching our heads as to what can be done with DM involvement and such, and perhaps look towards things such as Militia reforment with an IC approach.
Who knows, maybe the DM team is just as keen to see someone help us as much as we're looking for their input!
