I'm making a mulhorandi ranger and plan to reskin his animal into something more customized. I dont really know the animal skins and was hoping to get advice on what options are there in NWN for animals. Ones that would better fit a ranger from Mulhorand.

Do you by chance understand how to set up an Amia customized toolset?
It's actually rather simple, and takes about 5 minutes of setting up. Once you have it, you can then skim through all the skins we have for creatures. You can play with weapon models, armor appearances, PLC's, and more. So you can actually search through yourself and find really cool ideas.
I'd be happy to step-by-step walk you through it.

Not sure if you have already checked out this list but its a good start to get a fair idea of what is available. But to really see how they look in game it is best to view them via the toolset. Which I am afraid I am not much of an expert on either. Kamina did make a premade build mod which has all the Amia haks loaded, but its on the general discussion forum somewhere and I can't dig it out at the moment. EDIT: I just realised that link also has instructions on how to use the toolset by Jes :p If you follow those you should be golden.

Hippos, crocodiles, jackals, scarabs, snakes, camels, desert foxes, desert lynx, buffalo, donkeys would all be decent Mulhorandi-flavour animals, I think. Not sure how many of them have proper in-game skins, though. Pretty sure you can get beetle, lynx, snakes, buffalo and maybe a dog skin for jackals like they have in Khem.
I would love it if you could get a snake with a charm person spell.
