A trend I've been regretfully seeing lately is that players who purchase placeable items have been placing them frequently without any roleplay whatsoever.
PLC's are meant to be an auxiliary tool to RP. A summoning circle is not something that appears out of thin air. Magical blue flames are not something that occur without any Rp. Actually go through the roleplay of drawing a summoning circle, or sparking magical flame. Use them as visual effects for PnP spells or other things-- but RP their use.
If I see people abusing the privileges of the PLC's they requested, I'll strip the PLC without refund.

I can agree that things don't simply poof out of thin air and that it is indeed good practice to roleplay actions. But Jesus, stripping a paid for item? I think most players will and can get the idea with a friendly reminder. Sometimes people forget. Sometimes there are no other characters around and you figure what the heck. You're right Hackmeister, but no need to go cleaving off limbs just yet, unless I've missed some brazen and defiant trend sweeping the nation.

Guess you don't get around much... I don't either, but I manage to run into such situations nearly daily. I say sever those limbs, let the blood for if that's what it takes to bring order! Course after the friendly reminders fail...

I get around plenty and have seen a few instances, yes. It's nothing so serious that a Tell from a player or DM couldn't fix. Repeat offenders, sure. But it's probably best not to go scaring people into thinking that they run the risk of losing something they worked for, for what might be a momentary and understandable slip-up.

Have no fear people. We aren't barbarians, and respect the things the people have worked for and earned. This is the fair warning.

I wouldn't have said anything of the sort if I didn't think it was a problem worth the stance. Its been a serious immersion-breaking issue for a while now, and simply has to stop.
