The new head pack is officially released. Eurgiga and I have toiled away countless hours to bring this to you! Eurgiga mostly with editing and creating heads, whereas I did the cushy job of redoing all the head pictures and designing a new webpage! I also tested and compiled them, and with Eurgiga's and Pony's help they're now finally done and I can have a life again. And by "life" I mean I can play Amia or something. The head downloads are presented in .rar format, so they're just the compressed files. You'll need to download these, and then extract them and put them into your NWN override folder. Here are some links (Sorry about all the trouble! My first time making something available to the masses!): Head Pack 5.0 Add-OnFull Head Pack 5.0New Amia Heads Reference WebpageAlternative Amia Heads Reference Page (See Poll)There are a few things to note: 1. Female Human head 143 (by Eurgiga, previously released) has been moved to 138 to bring back the "veiled" head that it replaced last time. 2. Human Male head 174 has moved to 209 to make room for one of Eurgiga's new heads. 3. There are 7 Human Male heads that are not available to view in the Toolset. These can only be assigned by a DM in-game and are indicated on the new Heads webpage. The Amia site will be updated with these files and the webpage soon. They're posted now before that so we can bring them to you as soon as possible!

Nice work Jes and Eurgiga!
Updated the side panel with the new links so new players wont get the old heads. Let me know when you put them on the Amia site so I can edit the links.
Got one question though. Do you only need to dl the add on if your headpack was already up to date?

Software only recognizes so many integers, but when you set a head IG it's a "hard variable" that'll be displayed despite toolset limitations.

Yeah, any heads with reference numbers 200+ will not be available to view in the Toolset purely because this is an old game and it's a limitation that cannot be fixed (that we are aware of!). And Hudson: Yes, if your head pack was previously up-to-date, you only need the add-on!

Wow, great job everyone! I'm just having one little problem. I can't download either file. It tells me, "Sorry, this file has been downloaded 30 times in the last 24 hours."

Updated the first post with a link for the add-on that I know won't give you a "TOO MANY" error. xD

Change the layout for the heads back to a grid, cycling through a slideshow takes forever and is very inconvenient.

I do agree with Stallion somewhat. I don't mind the current layout, but the fact it's an automatic slideshow irks me, I need more than 10 seconds to think what face I'd need!

A wall of thumbnails might still be better than the "Category (race/gender) - Sub-Category (number range) - 5 thumbnails at a time' design that is currently in use. The slideshow doesn't change automatically on mine, but it still takes a long time to find a head if you don't know the number (or even if you do, having to click through everything still). I was having some trouble getting the thumbnail to display in the bigger area too. It was probably my crappy internet, but still, a simpler design might be more user friendly.

I put the fast scroll on there so you could cycle through quickly. Click the double-arrow to get five fresh heads instantly.
I might have to take a poll. The mass of thumbnail layout that it had before was not good. Nor was the way it was incorporated, from a design/future updates standpoint. Keep the feedback coming. If an overwhelming number of people hate the current setup, I'll change it. But it's too much work to change based on two or three. And I don't mean to be rude by saying that! It just is! xD

Here's an alternative, because I'm crazy. Which of the two do you prefer? The first is more forum-themed and gives information up at the top, but the second is fancier and has different modes for different strokes for different folks...or something. I'll add a poll for kicks, but I'd like some proper feedback on preferences!

The thumbnail for the categories use the first custom head though. I can see why... but it seems sorta odd to have the 'male halfling' (and both orc genders) picture default to a dragon/non-racial head.

That's just because of file order. I didn't switch all of them. I did it "quickly" to work as a preview.

Updated that little thing regardless. Also added an Amia logo button that takes you back to the forum index. My favorite thing about either of the pages is that you can really see where we're head heavy and where we're lacking. Poor female gnomes! xD (But there's a reason for that.)I'll fix the broken link. Stupid Cloud, anyway.

Both of the type of layouts for viewing the heads don't seem to work all that well. http://www.amiaworld.net/files/heads/ <-- That sort of layout is ideal. It loads up all of the heads for a given type at once and clearly shows the head number.

I like the second page layout more. I liked the original even better, since it's helpful to see every available head at a glance, but I get it if you want to separate Amia's custom heads for credit. (Not that the other new heads are exactly "standard" either.)

I doubt it. Writing in that form is a demand. Moreso because it takes 3 minutes to find a head compared to the many hours Jes put in to create that overview.
If it was a request or politely asked for it would either be written as 'Could you change the layout back a grid?' or 'please' could have been added at the end of the sentance.

She asked for feedback. He gave her feedback.
Moreso this is text-based communication: There is rarely any "tone" in a post unless you read it in your head with a tone.

Given how many female dwarves are around, that's a click that everyone has to make. These layouts are a whole one click extra for the sake of highlighting the fact that we have Amia custom heads. That's a feature aimed at new players. And Iron, I chose "Standard" over "Other" in that case. If you have a better word, I'm all ears. Note: We're running pretty neck and neck on the preference bar. I'm going to ask the powers that be to choose one if it stays that way. Just letting you know!

I'm in dubio about which style I prefer.
I think the amian forum style presents more clear, crisp. The images, to me, appear to be clearer maybe because they are larger. The bigger size images are also very accessible and do not need extra clicking to make them appear. The downside however is the navigation, it's hard to cycle through them and you need to go back to start to view all the styles.
The blue one is far prettier, but my peanut mind keeps wanting to look at the pretty texture. I like that you have an overview of all the heads in one go which makes looking for a particular head easier to find. The textured head at the left upper corner is also a nice touch. I do find the navigation bar in the upper right corner a bit muddy. It's unclear when the menu expands. Maybe add a sort of outline to them to make it appear clearer? I would also place the navigation menu to the left, there seems to be a lot of empty space there. The upper right corner could, if switched, be used for the explicative text and the amia symbol.

-Viewed with safari- Most of what you said I would agree with. But the amount of time it would take to customize it to that level would be way too draining and demanding. And frankly that's the work of a professional who's getting paid.

I like the old style way better, because I can see all the heads in one place. I'm not a big fan of albums. So I don't like either, technically.

My personal feedbacks:
1) Thanks a lot to all of you for the work you did on that!
2) I prefer the black one over the blue one (the colors and layout somehow seem more suited)
3) I understand dead's (and others') sentiment that it is also nice to have all of the heads available at a first glance, especially if you do not know the number of the head model you are looking for, or are browsing the entire gallery.
Can I suggest that for each of the race there would be an extra option added that would be "All the head models" for that section? When clicking that option, it would basically open up a wall of pictures with the number of the heads written on it (like the old version) for the selected category. That way we keep the amazing work you did, and we get the option of just having a quick glance at all the head models available for that race if that's what we want.
For example, you click on "Female Dwarf", then you get "Number X to Z", "Custum", and "All". When you click on "All", you just get a wall of pictures (thumbnails is what they're called?)

If the choice is as is, I do have a preference for the black/gold one (even if it pains me if you went through the effort to make the other one). Again a big cheers for the combined effort of you both!

And it's already a big folder to add. I do not think doing that is a good idea at all, since (as I understand it) we have limited resources. And just to note - color schemes can be changed. But I'm not going to spend many more hours on this. I think it's clear I'm not going to get a definite answer and not everyone is going to be pleased. I knew that at the outset but thought I'd try it anyway. Given how the poll is not working out, I'm taking this decision backstage. Thanks for all the feedback, guys!

(my Dumb question ahead, beware)
Little bit lost in the installation of this, I have put all the files in the override folder,
but I cannot see any new heads in the 'create character section' to see if it has worked or not.
is there a way of seeing if it is working properly?
great work btw!

Almost all of the new heads will not be selectable at character creation, because of the way NWN handles it. So you will need to poke a DM in game and ask for a head change.

Do we have this in ZIP format by chance? WIndows 8 is being silly and won't let me extract the RAR.
