I put this out to those of you which would seek to harm us in Bendir Dale.

Why? If you are banned, it is for reason. Either it is for our safety, or for yours. I do not mean to sound condescending, but Krin, why? You got banned for throwing Hellballs about. That's just a silly idea, and you know it, regardless of why. My gripe lies with you mostly. I hear rumours of you trying to have Bendir taken down from the inside... You're not even hin. No matter what happens in hin politics, you have no place to call it your home. Bendirs politics do not concern you. Leave us alone. We want nothing to do with you. You seek revenge? For? We haven't wronged you. You cast two hellballs. HELLBALLS. There's a reason they're called that. We banned you because you are powerful, but we don't believe that you know when it is appropriate to use such power. So you're dangerous. Volatile. A threat to us. But now you're actively against us? Please. Answer my question, Krin. I want to know this; Why must you insist on attacking Bendir Dale when you know full well what you did was wrong?

It just confuses me that you would take up such a cold hope for vengeance. A pointless one at that. You have nothing to gain from this. Leave us alone, and we'll leave you alone. We only want to be left alone. Why can't any of you see that?


Quickdraw. You wanted your ban removed and you got it. Then you repeated your act. Again. WHY?
Just... Some brains. Some brains will take you a long way. I know you've got them. Why don't you use them?

Though, here I sit, writing this in hopes of convincing you two and other like minded people to leave us alone. Do not pester us. Don't harrass us. We want nothing more than a community in which we don't need to be scared of bullies. There's bigger things on this island than you. Bigger threats. Things that will concern you. That will likely put you and those you care for in danger. Amn. Amon. Arcanum. Three 'a's, I fear. Let us worry about that. Leave us alone. I beg you. You don't want us? You don't need us. We don't need you. So, is it not the mature, grown up thing to move on?

Just some words to think on. Seriously.

I actually want you to reply. I do not offer insult here, so why should you? I'm merely curious, and asking for a means to an end.

Say what you will about me for begging you to leave us be. This is me saying this. Not Bendir Dale. My actions and Breazys actions are not that of the entire town. Remember that.

If you think we're at a feud of sort, well fine. We surrender, I surrender, you win, leave us be. Done... finished. Move on. It's not hard to ignore us. We let you both pass through our land, that's more than reasonable for things you have done.

Before you write an angry reply. Take a breather. Remind yourself that I'm asking you as nicely as I can to let us be.

I have spoken to Krin. He understands the terms and reason for his ban, he's been perfectly reasonable about it. I urge you all not to slander here as it is mark on my name. Your trust is your own. I hope you can all understand why I might wish to remain neutral or friendly with as many people and parties as I can. Though I thank you for your kind concerns.

As Theadric said, we've spoken and things have been settled.

Contrary to popular delusion, I'm not a violent or unstable person. I'm not a necromancer, a sadist, or an eater of children. I will not peel the skin from your face and then eat it in front of you. I won't tear your soul out through your piss-hole.

I am a Sunite, a husband, and a father. I like to think I did a lot of good across the island when I called it home. My friends and I took on everything from rampaging armies and the Dark Flight to massive slime beasts and angry gods. I understand that a lot of you think I'm an arrogant liar because I speak openly about the things I've done or experienced. I'll admit that a lot of the stories I tell would seem far-fetched if I heard someone tell them, but that doesn't make them any less true. Through all of my experience in various wars and battles against tyrants, demi-gods, the tarrasque, etc., I've become very confident in my own abilities.

When I arrived on the island, I was nothing but a prankster that lived in a crate in South Cordor and spent most of my days harassing the guards or trying to snag easy coin by humiliating myself in dares or bets. When my wife and I left, I'd built a reputation as one of the most powerful sorcerers on the island, led armies into battle, gone toe-to-toe with creatures that most people only see in their nightmares, and become influential in political circles all across the island. I've had a direct hand in saving Cordor, Kohlingen, Brogdenstein, Winya Ravena, The Grove, Bendir, Uhm, Wharftown, the Shrine of Eilistraee, and even the plane itself from destruction multiple times. I'm not ashamed to say it. I'm proud of it. I'm proud of myself. When someone asks me who I am or what I've done, I tell them. I think anyone that has managed to have a positive impact on this world should be proud of it. If that makes me egotistical, so be it.

Most of my old friends are gone and the ones that should remember the sacrifices we made don't care to. That's fine. I've never cared very much what people think of me. I'm only even writing this because I know what it's like to live in fear of someone going after the ones you love and I want people to know that they have nothing to fear from me.

What's been going around about me is either half-truths or lies spread by people like Evander, Breazy, and Crow.

To Evander:

You have a black and white view of the world that blinds you to the good in a lot of people. People are not simple. People are capable of good and evil in equal measures. The way you behave in the name of 'good' is, in my opinion, evil.

Let's take my hellhound Draco, for example. His heritage makes him 'evil'. I don't disagree with you there. But he is an intelligent being that has spent years at my side and I've taught him to resist his natural inclinations. He never causes harm without my direct order. He is loyal to me. In that way, he is no more a threat at any given moment than I am. He's my friend. When you attack him, you attack me. When I attacked you, it was to defend him.
I'm not a violent person and I'd much rather bury the hatchet and start over, but every time I try to discuss this, you threaten to 'smite' me with your hammer. Now you're telling people that I'm in league with Tarkuul and that I'm hunting you? You're behaving like a child. Let's talk it over and put it all behind us.

To Breazy:

You should learn to control your emotions. You've been telling people that I'm 'hin hunting' and that I tossed two hellballs near Bendir, but we both know that's not true. The first time was in the hills far away from Bendir and it was only used because I was cornered and under attack by three people after I'd asked your guards repeatedly to keep them away. When we spoke, you agreed that the spell posed no threat to Bendir and you dropped all the charges against me. Now you're pretending that never happened because it's convenient for you.

The time it did happen near Bendir, it happened because I was being attacked by Frugdar and the yellow-robed hin wizard. I asked them repeatedly to stop, but they kept chasing me around. I was trying to avoid violence, so I used a Fear spell on Frugdar and sent him running. The hin hit me with a Greater Ruin spell at that point, so I was going to call my dragon friend to scare him off.. but instead I tossed a hellball. I'm a sorcerer. I must've lost control for a moment. It was a mistake, but it happened. If that's cause for me to be banned from Bendir, I'm fine with it. I don't really care.

What I do care about is you abusing your position of authority to twist the truth and show favor to your friends. You realize that when you told me to keep Draco away from Bendir because he's a fiend, you had a fiend that happens to be your friend standing right beside you?

You've proven to be a dishonest hypocrite. You've established one set of rules for you and your friends and another for everyone else. I'm sure you were a better person before you got into politics, but now the authority you think you have has corrupted you. It's not my business to remove you, but I hope you are removed soon. It would be better for you and better for Bendir.

To Crow:

You've hated me since before we met. I've asked you a few times why you hate me, but the only answer you ever gave me was that you 'know things about me.' You refused to tell me what you think you know then, so I'm given you another chance now. What do you know? Tell me. Tell everyone. Spill my secrets here and let them all see how horrible I really am. Don't be a coward.


I've got more to say, but I doubt anyone has read this far as it is. Pick it apart. Call me a liar. Tell your stories.

Hello Evander,

I'm glad you responded. I sent Draco near Bendir to see if Frugdar was there. Frugdar is someone that I have been hunting because he attacked a pregnant woman that tried to keep him from robbing me and killed her unborn child. Until recently, he was frequently found in Bendir. I have no reason to lure you or any hin away. Speaking of what's 'illegal', though. I find it hard to follow laws that aren't followed by the ones tasked with enforcing them. Breazy allows devil-kin in Bendir. I don't see why Draco is any different.

You started removing my invisibility spells before I was banned from Bendir because you seem to think it's funny. I don't walk around invisible to avoid bans. I do it because it's an old habit. I like to see my enemies before they see me. Either way, it's not reason enough for me to kill you. I don't go around murdering people.

On the subject of murder, why you keep saying that I do it? You say that I kill innocents and destroy without cause. Which innocents have I killed? I haven't actually killed someone in years. You know how much effort it can take. You tried very hard to kill me not all that long ago, but instead of hunting you down and killing you, I'm trying to understand you and start over.

You keep saying that I'm violent, aggressive, and insane, but you can't seem to come up with any real instances where I've demonstrated those traits.

I don't think you're a bad person. I think you've become to blinded by your own desire to do good and destroy evil that you've forgotten what good and evil really are. I'm not leaving this island any time soon. I'd rather not harm you if you try to attack me again, so why not drop the threats, half-truths, and outright lies and talk it over instead?
