*Boaz reads the letter slowly and thoughtfully, pausing here and there on a specific word or line. At the end he flips opens pad of bound papers, leafs to a particular page and carefully crosses off some text while in the margins jotting down some new notes. Satisfied with the result he packs away his notepad and peers back at the posted letter for several long minutes with an inscrutable visage before nodding to no one in particular and resuming his regular duties.*

Next time let the militia know you irresponsible doornob!

We have enough on our plate already without having to deal with this as well, could have even wounded you in the line of fire.

Why are you warning them we are appearantly onto them?

This is very dissapointing.

// Honestly we've been on the down low for clerics for the past few weeks! Quite a few hin players have clerics of yondalla but there alt's who aren't played very often it seems. We always see different character trends spike up and down in the dale. There's not a real consistency to what you'll find due to the wanderlust nature of both the race and the players here, haha - (right now it's mages and dex based warriors probably) - but we could sure use more children of the cornucopia!

Gulliver would read the notice, rubbing his temples.

He would linger on Nof's words, sharing the sentiment, and not seeming impressed. He would mutter to himself about how all will return to the earth... in time.

Hey, guys and gals

I just wanted to write about what happened last night in Wharftown, but wasn't sure if it's fit for our report box. Anyway, here goes;

Last night I went to Wharftown to buy a new cigar box, when I ran into some tallers standing by one of the gates. When I was about to ask what was happening, a volley of arrows was fire at the gates by the bandits towards... uhhh... north? I think it was north... Anyway, after a few volleys they came in close and Lucky Jack decided to help the locals fight them off. We fought off a few waves of them, but then things got interesting... Mindflayers! And umberhulks and some weird four-legged little things started joining the fight on the bandit side. So, like any smart folk, we charged out of the gates to give them an ass-kicking! And an ass-kicking we gave them, despite being outnumbered three-to-one, sometimes four or five-to-one, while making way for some kind of a portal upheld by some squid-face magus-fingerwaggler. Once the mage died the portal closed, but there was more!

By the time we headed to the second portal we started encounter some tougher squids. I think the people called them Deactivatus Tummyachus Oligarchus Dummymagus's. Covered in acid, blowing minds, really hard to hit. At first there was one, then another, then two at once, then more. I think I counted eight or nine at best, but that's a bit fuzzy right now. My head is still pounding. Anyway! We kicked their asses, while taking an ass-kicking at one point, but we were helped but some bald bloodmage called Anton or Canon or Mona or something.

After a good bit of portal-closing and fighting, I think our kill-count topped 100 with ease, we saw a ship sailing away from Wharftown and went after it. We commandeered a fishing-boat with the permission of a local lady-captain Lana and gave chase! Then with the glorious guidance of Temporarily-Instated Captain Jack we commandeered the armed ship! It was pretty easy... because the bandits and mindflayers on board were already dead. Bloodvessels burst or something like that. We searched the ship, and I confiscated the rum, and then sailed it back to Wharftown. I called dibs on the ship, but when I realized I can't get it to Dale I gave it to Wharftowners.

When we got back, drinks were had! Then odd stuff continued and people suddenly froze in place. Not all of them, just locals. We noticed a few of them fell off the pier, so Lucky Jack and the elf-sneak William jumped in the water and some live-saving was done. No casualties. (By the way, tallers are heavy when wet!)

After a bit William tried casting something called the Cereal Sign on the frozen folk, but it didn't work. Instead some taller attacked him immediately and killed him, then got whipped on his ass and knocked out. Then madness continued as the frozen people opened their mouths and silver came out, floating to the sky and forming some weird... odd... thinking globe. (The tallers said it had a mind of it's own, though tallers are crazy.)

After that we left for Cordor. And by we I mean Lucky Jack and Handlebars. Yes, Handlebars was there too, he helped me save folks from drowning.

To sum it up; Bandits, flayers, ass-kicking, rum, mind-blasts, Jack's head hurts, portals, rum, commandeering, rum, frozen, rum, life-saving, rum, home. Oh and bloodmage.

~Jack

A lot of hilarious/jaw dropping/really cool things happen in our humble home and I figured it was time to revive this thread!

Brandy was being a bad influence on Rosary (again). Brandy tricked a walking adventurer to help her find a "family heirloom" in a tight corner, and told Rosary to imprison her with candy magick! Brandy made the adventurer sacrifice a story to the Altar of Brandobaris, but the character was actually a bardess and sung for them. It was hilarious and the song was great!

It disheartens me to have to write this report, but it's duty.

Last evening, the taller, air genasi, Atlas Dumadoin, made an attempt on Kurchins life inside our walls. Aiming to capture him alive and take him elsewhere. Betraying my trust as a friend and my faithfulness in many tallers, sadly.

He informed us that there was a hit placed on myself and Kurchin, but is unaware who placed it as he picks up his contracts via dead drop. The man was under gaes at this time, but still, admitted to being an assassin, having taken various lives previously for money.

When he attacked Kurchin, myself and Gulliver were outside the classroom after Atlas had just warned us of our prices on our heads. We heard Soft'scale scream and ran in to see Atlas holding a blade. When we entered he grabbed Gulliver as hostage. Kurchin feared him with a spell, in doing so, Atlas' reflex caused him to cut our dear Acorns throat. Luckily, Kurchin was on point, landing a healing spell on him with in seconds of the wound being made. It was very soon before he recovered. During which time, Kurchin was laying into Atlas. I didn't join in taking him down, because Kurchin had him under magic and was cutting him down. To add to the assault would've been pointless, so I aided Gulliver how I could at the time.

When Atlas was subdued by Kurchin, he was hogtied. To make sure he didn't slip away, I strapped a tangle trap around him. He informed us of his history as an assassin, taking only dead drops. He repeatedly apolagized, then explained his current situation. Which was that I or he had to die due to the Sea-Bitch's wish or something. I didn't quite understand. When he failed in capturing Kurchin, he said that there was a choice now. Release him, or kill him. If he was released, he'd die, or he'd have to attempt my life, or hope I'd die, if I didn't he'd die a slow painful death due to this "Gaes".

In the end, I left the class room. I couldn't be the man that would determine the death of someone I once called friend. When I'd left, he asked Nick, Gulliver and Soft'scale to kill him, so it wouldn't be me to die.

He was laid to rest in the Skull Crags. Gulliver took the shape of an air elemental and sent him to join the winds.

May he rest in peace.

-Vigilant Sentinel, Theadric Shortwick.

Quote:
New form of rank system, please take note.

Base Rank: "Home Guard". This are the protectors of our home. There is little requirement to enter this rank. You must fill in an application and send in previous criminal offences across Amia. If you're found out lying about these offences, you may face punishment of being dismissed from our militia.
The Home Guard take orders. They are our on patrol, in wall enforces of our law. You all start here.

First Advancement: "Shield". The Shield are the guards that have proved their devotion to our home. They are dedicated to Bendir Dale, and to acquire said rank, they must prove this. You are qualified to have proved this, when myself the Vigilant Sentinel, and/or General Nof are satisfied with your performance. The Shields main job will be to keep all in check. They are to do what is necessary to keep people with in the lines of our ten simple laws.

Second Advancement: "Sword". The Swords are Bendir Dales first response. To acquire this you must prove your self in various aspects, some being as follows; dedication/devotion to Bendir Dale, skill in your position. As the first response, you will be required to be the first into the fray, and the last out. You are Bendir Dales elite force. Here to be the first to send any evil that approaches our gates, running for the hills so fast they don't even realise that they're facing the wrong way!
Do not get to head strong, of course. As well as being Bendir Dales toughest, you are also /required/ to have a positive reputation amongst kin. To attain this rank, you must have someone of equal or higher rank vouch for you if my self or General Nof cannot.
Since at this rank, you will be on duty almost all of the time, it stops being voluntary, and becomes a job. You will be paid. The amount, to be determined.

Vigilant Sentinel: Our military leader. The Sentinel of Bendir Dale is to be in charge of our militia movement. He must choose wisely of those whom are willing to serve Bendir Dale in a military fashion, and ensure that abuse does not happen in the community. The Sentinel’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
-Recruiting militia & providing proper training for militia (both physical and mental)
-Ensuring the safety of all Bendir Dale citizens
-Creating and maintaining a strong structural defence for Bendir Dale
-Carrying out special duties or punishments as required by the Mayor
Our current Vigilant Sentinel is: Theadric Shortwick

General Nof. A voice that deserves great respect as his deeds of valour for our hearth go beyond comparison to any I can name to this day. He is the Militias voice in the elders commune. He rarely gives orders, but when he does, bare in mind he speaks from a /lot/ of experience. Trust his guidance and you'll come far in the militia.

You will not climb rank weekly. I make this clear. If you wish to obtain the "Sword" rank, you'll be serving a minimum of four months. That is with /no/ slip ups.

Your Vigilant Sentinel, Theadric Shortwick.

P.S. Bare in mind that this may just be a draft for now. The ranks will stay the same. But the out look will be neatened and made clearer should there be any mistakes made. If you require clarification on something, see me personally or send a letter.

Finally, it had happened. The Curse of Bendir Dale ended - the blight was gone. Celebrations broke out from all the Residents of Bendir Dale, and even Visitors joined in the festivities. Gulliver Goldwoods was among the first to show his excitement, through bizarre gnomish dances and then singing of songs of grass and growth to the tune of Perugo's lute and Corel's flute.

After some celebrating, the Druid of Baervan Wildwanderer chanted words of healing and growth. Rejuvenation was now in reach as he blessed the first flowers and crops planted by the fountain in celebration. Green was spreading through out the Dale quicker with his blessing of seeds awakening the plants that slept inside!

Soon Gulliver then gathered Sugrin, a priest of the Nurturing Matriach, to lead the community in a prayer of thanks...

Image

Image

And Yondalla accepted the blessing! Ultimately there was a period of mirth again in Bendir Dale. Laughter. Stories. Fireworks....

The green was spreading, and it was finally the chance Bendir Dale's Citizens sought for so long - the chance to turn over a new leaf. Hope lingered in the air around the Druid, and he went off to continue to work and bless the rest of the land. He would finally be able to help the Dale usher in a new era of restoration and balance. May the Masked Leaf bless the new growth of the plants, and form them into beautiful sights long missed. No longer would a blade of grass be ignored by the community...

//Thought I would just go over some highlights of the event from Gulls perspective and post some screenies! Fun times had by all.

And among the blessed newly sprouted growths, in few areas of the Dale, a tiny little bush of mostly illegal pipeweed grows... Talk about Holy Smoke.

Posted in both Bendir Dale and a copy sent to the Shrine of Eilistraeen. Written in Common and Drow.
Even though our prayers and vigilance was answered with hope, our friends still suffer under evil. As they have stood by us in the past I now ask that the hin and Eilistraeens stand together to see our friends freed from this evil.

It has finally became time to seek out the great prismatic dragon in hopes that we might obtain some information on the Blighted lands.

Gather your courage, your wits, and join me in an effort to save our friends and neighbors from evil.

Please collect books and papers of great wit or information, and gems to offer as tributes to the great dragon. Those who have contribute should be assured that those items will still be used as intended.

We shall embark into the frozen lands of Howness in two moon rises. Those coming on this worthy quest of merciy and hope should meet outside the gate of Bendir Dale near the carts.

Join hands with those that have held ours in the past and assure them that their assistance and friendship has great value and we shall not leave them to this dark fate willingly.

May the dancer guide our steps to freedom from yet another great evil her people face.

Mayor Breazy Goldenleaf

// DM is good with Tuesday 10pm GMT so we are good to go! Any interested should try to be in Bendir Dale a bit before to get coordinated.

The Acorn, covered in patches of dirt from planting all day, was wandering about the northern rolling hills of Bendir Dale. Cure, his animal companion and life time ally, continued to hop and encourage the druid with her presence. He then found a small shrub starting to grow again on the hills. Butterflies flew around the shrub as it served as a beacon to life! Feeling inspired, the Acorn began a Druidic blessing over the plant and the surrounding area. He waved his arms wildly as he began to chant:

Image

Oh Great Baervan Wildwanderer of the Forest, I chant a druidic prayer in your honour this day! Hear my words Masked Leaf:

Better our soil, so that it may hold all of life’s creations,
Steady our hands, as we plant the seeds of hope and bury them deep within the earth,
Kiss our land daily to give us morning dew and raindrops that quench the thirst of sleeping plants,

Image

Give the plants sunlight to bask in, so that they may grow their roots to their heart’s content,
Breathe gentle breezes, so that the wind may spread their seed and constantly offer clean air,
Spread your thirst of adventure and of life to all the plants you care so much about it,

Image

Bless those of the Forgotten Folk who have dared to adventure outside their burrows and see the great outdoors,

Grant us swift restoration of our lands and let the plants grow into wonderful sites of beauty,

Let them grow wild and free, offering fresh produce to those who know and understand the secrets of a plant,

I thank you for your love to our lands and to your wisdom to the Forgotten Folk, for this great energy will bring home and hearth to many animals and travelers of all sorts. In doing so, I promise to always guard these lands, for as long as I live and wander as an Acorn of your teachings!

//It'll be 1700 GMT as the last 'meeting' (Party) started around 1900 British Summer Time. I'm currently in BST myself so 1700 GMT works great as far as I'm concerned.

The quest was a success, as the adventuresome halflings (even Gulliver took the shape of a hin) gave the Dragon a great deal of literature, as sacrifice for it's time. Many theories and speculations were formed - and curiosity was certainly peeked.

This meeting may hold an important key to understanding on how to cure the blight in other unbalanced regions and perhaps how to save their neighbours of the Shrine. If the stars would align and bless it, that is! Rumours also circulate that a Commune of Nature was performed afterwards in the Dale, but any actual information from the dragon or the commune has been kept to hushed vague whispers.

Hey guys,

So today I was standing there, minding my business and stuff, when I saw Filippa get out of the cart all angry-like. She looked like she'd had a bit of a tumble and had a black eye, so I asked why. Reason was easy to guess; Handlebars clogged her in the face. I don't like "manly men" who punch gals in the face, that just doesn't sit right with Jack, so I went to find Handlebars.

Since she said it happened in Cordor, I went to Cordor. And since Handlebars had led me to his inn-room before, I went there and knocked on the door. True enough, he opened. At first I planned on just punching him back, but when he opened the door I saw another one of our own people, Chris, lying there with his head wrapped in bandages and out cold. Enough's enough, so I smashed my bottle on Handlebars' head, then kicked him in the daddysacks. He tried to punch, but I was a bit too quick. He grabbed me, I tossed him on the floor and pinned him down. At this point some horned taller appeared from shadows, seemed to be on our side as he helped wake-up and heal Chris.

With Handlebars pinned I told him if he harmed hin again, I'd come back and take his daddybits with me when I left. He in turn asked me if I lift... whatever that means... And told me he'd be training solely to beat me up and take my eye. I might've accidentally blinded his eye, as glass cut it when I hit him with my bottle.

Anyway, after that he ran off and I didn't see him since. The taller left too, Chris and I portalled back to Dale. Chris had a lot of nasty cuts on his face, looked like he took a beating, but he's fine now.

That's all for now.
~Jack

Will Dale re-imburse me a bottle of rum?

For one if it don't happen in the Dale it don't belong here. For another, YOU PERMANENTLY BLINDED A HIN FOR A TALLER!? And WHO DA FECK'S CHRIS? COME SEE ME!!

Breazy

All though starts out in her normal swirling and decorative well practice writing by the end it could have been written by a five year old.
