Citizens of Bendir Dale,
I thank you for your trust that I will lead us through these dark and trying times. Together we shall bring the light and laughter back to your home and community.
As we transition into this new time of hope and solidarity there will be bumps along the way. It is not an easy task we have set for ourselves. With clear vision of our goals and path we shall see through these small matter with ease and good cheer.
Look to your kin with kindness and take strength from the knowledge that no hin is alone for we will always have each other regardless of the challenges evil doers would through in our path. Look to our allies and friends with hope and be assured in the knowledge that with each day we earn their respect and friendship. Finally, humbly look to gods with the knowledge that we are not forgotten but given these challenges to make us stronger and to bring us back to the path of the Nurturing Mother,The Defender, The Scamp,The Lord in the Earth, The HearthKeeper, and The Watchful Mother.
It is with a steady mind that I do announce here that all previously banned hin, gnome, fey, and/or dwarves are hereby welcomed with open arms and glad heart. That this is your home and haven, and the community your kin and steadying hand.
I shall do all in my power to make sure that the trust given was not done so in vain, I ask that you continue to trust in my judgement and guidance in the months to come and know every steps is taken with your well being and love for the community always in mind.
There has been some changes to law. I urge all militia members to commit them to memory, as well as all citizens and visitors to read them to ensure there is no misunderstanding and our fair town moves forward smoothly.
With Warm Regards, Mayor Breazy Goldenleaf

Roim summoned a golem today and though it was to be helpful he continued to ignore repeated request to remove it. A bit later he guided an unknown drow into town square and was nasty when told that was not allowed. The drow immediately left, and after a moments discussion so did Roim.
Sugarpaw though only thought to be helpful openly attacked the golem in clear violation of the law.

*While the butcher was quite pleased with the meat and many residents would smile at the thought of such 'staunch fine young fellows' working hard to get food the situation is going from bad to worse in the Dale foodwise, essential foods such as bread, cheese and fruit are becoming scarcer by the day. With their own production gone and the largest harbours in Amia out of commision the inhabitants of Bendir face tough times ahead. What will become of breakfast, brunch, lunch, teatime, supper and bedtime snack with the food stores running out? Doomsayers have even taken the word 'rationing' in their mouths though not even the most pessimistic of them has dared to utter the word anywhere near General Nof. Yet.*

Hello everyone!
It's good to see many of you active in the fine town known as Bendir Dale!
I am hoping to flesh out the NPC's of the town a little more. Mostly by making an overview of which clans (families) live in the Dale to add some luster to the background of the Dale. These clans will have leaders (called patriarch or matriarch) ofcourse which will together form the council of elders. Don't worry, these elders have better things to do then politics (Politics are for tallers, they have a clan to manage!) but they may get involved in plots or just sit on a treestump and advice the youngsters.
I would like to ask you to help me fleshing out these clans. If you have a good idea for a clan please pm it to me in the following format:
Name of the clan: Name of the patriarch/ matriarch: Short bio of the patriach/ matriarch: Number of hin in the clan: Clan specifics: What do they specialise in? What are they known for?
Many thanks in advance!

(OOC)Would you also expand that to Dorfs? I have it on good authority that some Dorfs live there too.

A skeleton approached a large group of people outside Bendirs main gates today. It mumbled on about exacting revenge on hin which it claimed to have been murdered by. Judging by the fact it had a magical effect floating about it and a glowing red sword, I'm assuming this undead is in fact a summon by a mage of some kind. It was disposed of by a group of hin and a few tallers. Be on your look out for strange activities.

Written entirely in hin and posted in Town Hall near Cindle.
It has finally became time to seek out the great prismatic dragon in hopes that we might obtain some information on our Blighted lands.
Gather your courage, your wits, and join me in an effort to save our home from evil.
In the next few days all that have been so diligently collecting tributes for this worthy quest should give it me to bring it all together.
Now we must decide when to embark across the cold frozen lands and force our way through any that would bar us from curing our home. Scribble a note below of when you would like to leave so we might coordinate our efforts to save our community.
May the Nuturing Mother protect and guide us in our time of strife.
Mayor Breazy Goldenleaf
// we need to work out a good time, I think this will be a lot of fun and would like to include as many hin as we can. Our options is anytime during the week after 10pm GMT or after 4pm GMT Saturday, or if we wish to postpone the Town Meeting and instead go for the quest we can do after 4PM Sunday. I know we have a lot of lower level hins but don't worry about your level if you want to join your welcome. This is an awesome rp opportunity and we can figure out ig how to get you there safe. Since I can work with these time any day we will decide on when based on when the most folks can join in.

Written in common and posted on the common notice board in Bendir Dale
We have talked, and talked. We have prayed for guidance for long hours. The time for action has come!
Let us arm ourselves, and look to our friends and allies and instead of waiting for inspiration go forth and find it! To that end a quest is afoot. Knowledge is power and ours has been stole by evil so we shall storm their keeps and strong holds to obtain knowledge on this Blight and the Bloodmages.
First we go into the Yaun Ti's keep in the Quagmire and push our way to the dark library. We shall search their evil text and tomes for any and all information on the blight and the dark forces, the Bloodmages. Then to the evil keep deep within the frozen waste. Again, we shall search for information to combat this great abomination.
We shall not falter or flail but stand as a bright light against the darkness that threatens our lands and inspire others by our example. Let us bring to those that think that size is all that matters a new understanding that even a small race can stand against the greatest of evils.
May the Blessed One Guide and Protect Us as we shout into the darkness that we will not give up and succumb to despair but fight till the warmth of Yondalla falls once again upon our community.
Mayor Breazy Goldenleaf
// We'll need to coordinate this as well. Available times is any day during the week after 10pm GMT or if about a week notice is given we can do it Saturday after 4pm GMT or Sunday if we would like to forgo the Town Meeting that week for a quest. Again, don't worry about level if you'd like to come we'll figure out how to ig. I'm good with any of these times so we'll go based on when the most folks will be able to join in. Sign up below with available time and well go from there.
Added note: unlike the Dragon quest this is definitely a bring a friend quest.
((THE Hats edit: I can help you with this after I gather some information. My times are GMT +1 after 6PM till 12 PM (Not on Tuesdays) and in weekends on request. This goes for the Dragon quest as well. Good initiative!))

One you might want to tickle is Dustspray. The Thornhills have been a great part of Bendir Dale history. The characters where awesome, the players great, and one of my favorite in games stories to tell was about the paladin of the group. Don't know if they would agree to making clan NPCs but I would still bug Dust about it ~_^ see his take.
Though most of the population of Bendir Dale is hin would a clan of dorf or perhaps even of fey work for you? Neither have any NPC, perhaps one of each would be great, not to mention fun for you! That way they aren't over represented but still represented a bit.

*a small afterthought was written after her signature, completely in Hin*
I can bring a taller friend or two if we're looking for volunteers. A druid shifter who's a known friend to the Dale among them. Unless we'd like to keep this among 'hin folk, as with the other *would ponder at this part thinking of all the people who have access and their language arrays* matters of the Dale.

Gulliver Goldwoods, the Keeper of the Lands, would pray for guidance in a time of such dire need. The Great Amia Forest is quieter at night – where creatures sleep or others quietly prowl. Gulliver wanders the Forest, before halting at a forest clearing, and looks up to the mystical moonlight. He smiles at the nearby oak trees and he quietly chitters in a friendly manner to some nearby ferrets, before chanting aloud to Baervan Wildwanderer. His prayer starts off clear, before taking more of a poetic form to appease the mischievous but justly gnome-nature deity: I pray to the Masked Leaf and ask him to aid a Wandering Acorn who seeks to rejuvenate the plant life and animals of Bendir Dale…
The curse upon Bendir Dale has made the land sick, Where animal-brethren feel ill and farmers can’t even grow celery sticks,
Wandering, adventure, and laughter has come to a halt, And now evil seeps to the children of Garl and Yondalla’s Hearth in a full frontal assault!
Darkness has spread across the trees, river streams, meadows and land, So I come and pray for hope, balance and restoration in the nearby woodland which is so grand,
I know the Father of Fish and Fungus always remembers the Forgotten Folk, So please, give me wisdom, wit and strength, so that a humble Acorn may turn into one of the Great Oaks!

There are less then 25 dorf npc's in bendir at the moment so while I dont mind fleshing them out there is somewhat less to work with.
I don't think the fey in the Dale would be a clan, more like a few individuals who like the Dale but the dorfs well could be and remain in the dale to mine the nearby hills.

viewtopic.php?f=103&t=64432That post was overseen and approved by a DM a while back and shows some general demographics. It's likely that there are more rock gnomes than both dwarves and fey in residence. I'd think an entry for a dwarf clan and gnome clan would add flavor to this endeavor, in addition to Hin entries. Love the idea.

Thanks for the link! The numbers are slightly differant from what Gunz posted on the DM forums which explains the differances. I don't think either number is a huge stretch so shouldnt be a problem.
And yes, a gnome clan is most welcome and would make sense.

Just wanted to say that this part isn't accurate anymore. We no longer have a council, it was dissolved in favor of Town Meetings. The fate of the village is decided in Town Meetings by all citizens, we have town leaders that specialize in certain areas and the community looks to them for guidance.

A necromancer came to Bendir Dale, main gates. Stood atop the hill asking for the "leader" around the area. Being present and the majority of others there being tallers and Boaz, I stepped up and spoke. He claimed that his fourteen year old daughter had passed. That he came to claim a new daughter from our kin. Needless to say, I denied him any chance to come near our home. He stated he shall return. He had three undead with him.
Females are to take extra caution outside of the gates.
He wears a fancy black coat, hooded, carrying a staff. Enchanted heavily, recognised by voice having spoke to him previously. He is the one that attempted to put one a "magic" earlier in the day. His friend, a female, I didn't get much of a look at. She was enchanted heavily.

Tsalan hands over a note to the guard with instructions that it only be given to Thea or Breazy then walks away nursing a few wounds that she later dresses when she makes it to Cordor.
It is my misfortune that I and another met an ill fate at the hand of the necromancer and his female companion that has been harassing the Dale. I have learned of useful information if the other that was attacked does not find you first. The necromancer came back with undead summons as did his counterpart who claims to be his sister who had summoned a red dragon and a skeleton. We proceeded to tell them to be on their way and that there was no hin about to talk with and then the necromancer casted a spell that i am not familiar with ending in mine and the others demise. Any further information can be given at a later time and date at your convenience.

The Acorn leaves a scribbled leaf: The necromancer whom has been trying to abduct hin lasses is known as Radamis. He is an extremely dangerous threat and should not be faught alone. His personal armada of undead did fell me once on the outskirts of Bendir Dale, but fate would have it that travelers and friends to the Dale saved me! Then Rashad and myself went south among the roads and found him - much credit and glory goes to Rashad, as once he had him on the run, it was easy for me to finish him off. I took him for questioning in the Grove but he has escaped! Be wary!
As predicted, as our lands remain sick, darkness grows and evil seeps into the corners of the lands... we must remain vigilant and keep our spirits strong in these dark times. Only together will we survive!Quote: human male, roughly 5'8, brown hair and eyes, short cropped hair, wearing a black frock coat with his young human daughter in a white dress (added from the post just before it)

Gulliver goes on many expeditions to the Amia Forest – often wandering it and driving out any evil distant gnome cousins, whom worship Urdlen in blind bloodlust. Lately though, he has been picking a great deal of plants from the Forest and putting them in a bag of holding. After much berry, nut, and seed picking, he would bring them to Town Hall to be distributed amongst the Halflings and Gnomes of Bendir Dale. He seems rather successful in his harvesting for the time being, but he always claims that he “never takes too much from the Forest – simply the right amount!” Then usually some rambling of “balance” and “re-planting” follows shortly after.

Quote: *a vividly done drawing of a father and daughter can be seen tacked to a tree in central Bendir Dale * Quote: the picture is that of a human male, roughly 5'8, brown hair and eyes, short cropped hair, wearing a black frock coat with his young human daughter in a white dress Quote: The drawing is removed and given to the militia to confirm that this this the taller that is trying to kidnap hin lasses. Upon confirmation from Theadric that this appears to be the same person Breazy has an artist render a few copies and hands each guard a copy.
Breazy says to Theadric, the gaurds and militia, "Give him one warning shot. Then do whatever you need to to keep him away from hin lasses. I'll see if I can get a name to put him on the ban list." Quote: The picture left has been confirmed as being the same necromancer ,Radamis, Gulliver and Theadric has reporting as being a danger to hin and the Dale. Quote: Radamis is hereby exiled from Dale lands. As he has proven to be a danger to hins and doesn't feel the need to follow our laws he can go around and been added to the Kill on Sight. Breazy gathers the records for this taller including a copy of the picture to make it available for all to view// I hope this clears up any possible confusion.

Last night Radamis arrived with two allies in attempt to "speak" with Gulliver. They were armed and warded heavily, with undead. They were refused any council with our humble Acorn, instead they were killed. Two were killed, one fled.
Unfortunately, they were sighted with in the hour of their burial in Cordor. I suspect the one that fled to have used a true resurrection of sorts to bring them back.
Tips for combatting Radamis are as follows: Do not fight him alone. He usually has a few undead summons. One or two at a time, with the ability to control an undead, it is not rare to see him with three corpses. Open your fight on him by dispelling him. Make sure you can stay on him like a fly on the crap that he is. Be sure that you're protected with a death ward. He's a necromancer, he'll attempt to suck the life force right out of you. Other than that, knock him on his ass and run him through.
We know he has at least three allies now. All of which we do not know the names of. Two male, one female. One of the males wears a horned skull mask, wielding a scythe, equipped with full plate. The other, I didn't see much of being warded heavily, he had a simple sword and shield. Beyond that I do not know.
Be reminded. If you do not out number them. Do NOT engage them. Some call it cowardly, but it's survival, and common sense.

Giggle... I got poked.
PC Halfling family clans that I remember (qualifying a clan as more than 3 PCs) are the Tumbleleafs, Cobcrunchers, Thornhills, and Torrowfires.

Tallers and Rosary were up to misfief and worse. One of them cast weird half into town so I went out with me lads and set em straight.
A taller with white clothes and a big tattoo on his chest and a taller named Salem have been told to visit Mayor missy and apologize for their stupid behaviour and to make amends. Warned Rosey too to mind her magic.

-Vigilant Sentinal Theadric Shortwick The taller with the scyth sounds to be a shifter named Baga. Baga has been known to associate with deaders and is wanted by the dwarves for crimes against their kin. Cation should be taken. He is a nasty bit of work.

A sturdy leaf with scribbles is posted. It reads:
Myk, the fat halfling with the bad attitude and the large sword, attacked myself today in front of many witnesses. He jumped me with his blade - albeit he was defeated with one powerful spell, none the less is he getting out of hand. It was deemed overall deemed cowardly, as he sought to catch me unprepared and wanted to take advantage of it. After a long series of events of from the passing weeks, his presence is now a threat.
I will allow Breazy the right to officially declare his punishment, but to all residents of Bendir Dale - be ware. Evil rarely is seen in the Children of Yondalla, but this one does not seek to walk a righteous path. After many hours of community service and explanations, he does not seek to improve himself - in fact, I would argue that he has killed whatever halfling heritage lives in him as he sought to attack halflings of the community (other then gnomish residents such as myself). He seeks to rile others, stir up chaos and anarchy, and ultimately in doing so stop progression of our stage of restoration and recovery. Mischief and pranks are well known to our kind, but outright savagery and wicked words are not our ways.
He has always insulted many residents and visitors, but now it as the point where he attacks them openly - no longer mere harassment, but a physical provocation and danger. Myk is no longer a brother or cousin, but a threat. As troubling as it is to see one fall from grace, we cannot change the mind and spirit of one that does NOT want to change.
May we find unity in such troubling times and work together to overcome the obstacles that life presents us,
The Acorn

Another note is posted from Gulliver. It reads:
Today, a mage identified as Krin (human, black clothing) let leash many a spells on the rolling hills of Bendir Dale. It ended with a powerful spell of a hellball, which unleashed damage to all travelers and residents in the nearby area. He has been banished until he speaks to Mayor Breazy.
As to how this even came to be, it would appear that Myk was involved in provoking him, and attacked him off guard, almost killing him. The magi casted magicks and escaped - it should be noted that he did not attack any halfling at this time yet. Then it escalated upon the hills near the carts. The magician, instead of leaving, decided to appear and disappear, toying with Myk. Another halfling, Jack, became involved, and the magi appeared to taunt and toy with him as well. He would cast enchantments at them and stir up the pot so to speak, instead of finding a reasonable fashion to deal with this.
The magi then however, released a hellball and injured or killed residents and travelers alike near him. This was unacceptable and inexcusable. He also came back later, when we were on high alert at a necromancer sighting, and took this opportunity to ignore our banishment and throw insults at us. This is what striked me as very ill - because he did not seek to set thing straight in an earnest way, but to treat us that we were lesser then him. He was insensitive to the crisis at the moment and thought we were "no better then animals". Which, I couldn't help think was a compliment at first, since animals are such pure and honest creatures - but I later realized he was trying to say we were savages.
Of course, attacking visitors and travelers is completely unacceptable if they are not deemed a threat.
I also invite Jack to file his own report, so we could get another side of the story. I was only here by the end of it and was filled in what happened by a few witnesses , one of them being Morten. This is what I compiled from the events that took place from a few different tales.
I pray that we are able to move on from such trivial things and make our home well and welcoming once more,
The Acorn

*A note is tacked onto Gulliver's report*
That's about that, before that it was pretty much just more of the same. That Krom fellow was just being a giant ass-nugget and kept begging for a stab to the knee. I'm usually all-in-favor for people who know how to enjoy things, but this guy needs to find a long stick and shove it up his arse. Balance in everything.

Rosie could be seen on lands she wouldn't call home, feeding and milking a female cow. Allowing the cow plenty of rest and patiently retrieving bucket after bucket of milk which she would then take to the butter churns and cheese vats. After filling a couple bags of holding with as much of the products as she could, she would seek out Acorn or Breazy for distribution of her product. Each bundle of Cheese and butter would be wrapped, with a large looping R.A. written in red on the packaging.

Earlier today, I was relaxing by the roads on my lonesome, with the Cart Drivers doing their business with nothing more than the windmill turning to disturb the peace. A while in to this, a Fire Genasi appeared and sat next to me, making idle conversation about my faith and knowledge of your people, to which I responded "Yondalla" and "I do not know." He further began asking me about a Rosary Doodlekins and his desired to know her whereabouts when, completely by surprise, a Hin with a black hood and cloak appeared and began to assault him. I stood up in shock, the Fire Genasi seemed to disappear, though the Hin told me he'd seen the incantation cast before, it was a Time Stop. He briefly explained that the Fire Genasi is dangerous and that I should leave, I told him no and that I should fight with him. We left to the Amian Frontier where he summoned a massive Shade before my eyes. Not long after he did so, the Fire Genasi returned, warded to the teeth, followed by a Hellhound and two Humans wearing black and red garbs. Without many words said, the fight broke out, but I soon realised I was no match to them, so I fled to the Hin's words of "Run, seek help."
I ran back to Bendir but none were there to help, after about ten minutes I returned and the battlefield was empty. I looked to the west, north and east and nothing. I saw none of them again.
I am concerned for the Hin's sake.

Could you describe the fire genasi? There is a fire genasi assassin that has been seen in the Dale taking notes on me and harassing one of his victims Dian. Please be very cautious. Obviously if he returned with a hellhound he isn't the sort we want in the Dale anyway. Should you see him again immediately go into the gates and alert the militia.
// ooc note: If this is Py'ran which there is a good description of it is not unreasonable for the NPC to react to the situation as he is one of the few on the kill on sight list.

Hooded, wore Dark Grey full plate with red and yellow highlights. He bore a Scimitar and Shield, that is all I saw of him. I saw no face nor indication of his race until he stated it.

the town gates where attacked last night by necromancers. With enchantments and all their sick undead an exact number is hard to say. Regardless we managed to push them back and chase them into the Mylocks however the attack seemed a ruse to kidnap a hin. Which leads me to think the attack was orchestrated by this nutter Radamis. Two paladins arrived after they were chased off and have offered to patrol when able to help combat these creatures. Please treat them politely and help anyway you can, and please recall they are guest here to help up with their expertise at combating necromancers and undead

Please treat them politely and help anyway you can, and please recall they are guest here to help up with their expertise at combating necromancers and undead In addition, before this attack, it seemed some hours ago the Necromancers were outside Bendir Dale again. Miss Cassandra, Jakes and Mirnia were fighting with them. The necromancers came to the front gates of the town and severely injured the three of them, but when we came, they were fleeing in the distance and all whom were injured were healed by my hands. We found unholy tokens of Orcus and Set - they were destroyed.
It was noted that the attackers seemed to be Radamis sister and another dark worshipper - they had an evil red dragon and other foul creatures with them. At the time, it seems they were trying to barricade the town and demand a child.
----
As for that attack, I clearly identified Radamis as we slew his body inside the town by the windmill. I ran to assist the others in finding the other opressor who ran in the direction of the Mylock Hills (had a skull musk, bone arm, couldn't make out much more in all the enchantments. He also took the form of a death slaad) - and when I came back, it seems that his body has disappeared.
The Acorn//edited slightly to make a little more sense since I typed this too quickly after working for 10 hours!
