I just built a new pc, and I'm running windows 8. When I boot up nwn, it gives me an error saying that there are compatibility issues. Any way I can solve this?

Yes, but I forgot what I did to get my nwn to work on my new computer besides downloading the patch before trying to play.

Right click on nwnmain.exe and make it run as administrator. Don't choose to run the program in windows xp compatibility mode unless it still doesn't work; give it a try without it first. Also, run nwnmain.exe directly instead of going through the NWN menu.

Also, to avoid graphics problems, add the following to your nwn.ini:
[Display Options]
FullScreen=0
AllowWindowedMode=1
Disable Intro Movies=1

In the nwnplayer.ini I have the CPU affinity set to 0 (for multi core computers). I think this is what helped me make things work. I may have also installed a driver or something, but I don't remember. This took me months, so it's all fuzzy now.
