ive been wondering a while. what is the practice concerning DC requesting items that already exist in module? and items in boss loot bin in particular. is it possible to request such item? since all of us do not boss grind, would it be possible to gain bossloot by RP via DC?

Sure, why not? But why would you? It would still require roleplay and a good explanation on how you managed to acquire the item, so why not go for something better (And most importantly, more unique) than a mere standard epic item?

Since I'm not a DM, this is of course not an official response, but I have on occasion seen requests turned down, for reasons like "that already exists, find one IC" or "that can already be mythal crafted, build one IC" and so forth. Though if you're going to make a DC item request anyways, why would you even want to request something that dozens of other people already have? I'd think you'd want to tweak it somehow to be more adapted to your own RP and play style, since the loot drop items are all fairly generic. Get something unique! Unique is awesome! (Just my opinion, o'course; feel free to ignore me. )

this whole thing has born out of my epic jealousy towards people with ioun stones, they look so cool=) im too lazy to grind for one, or grind coin for one. im also too lazy to write a proper request for one. i just wanted to know if it was possible=)
