Afternoon all! (or morning depending on where you are!)

I wanted to generate this thread to really drum up what can we do as players to help support Amia and the DM's?
The reason why I ask this is because although I personally haven't been here long I have begun to learn scripting to assist with custom Items and whatnot.

I would like to assist in any other way possible and also make players aware about what difference we all make by adding contributions even in the slightest way.

I know this kind of post isn't really good from a newbie who is a month old on the server but I am very passionate about this world that has been created and I know for a fact a lot of you would love to contribute in any way too.

Once again Stay Safe and hopefully this will generate the effect that it intended! :)

Things you can do to make the server better, both IC and OOC (featuring the words ass and arse a lot):

*Play time isn't a concern, investment is. Don't get in to deeper RP with a character if you're going to drop them for reasons that are avoidable (such as making a new character) as this can sometimes demotivate and stagnant another person's RP.

*Have initiative but know when I back down! Everyone, players and DMs alike like to see people taking the hat and doing stuff to influence and improve the server, as well as progressing their character. However in some situations, it's better to let those who have no had the limelight stand up and show the world what they can do. This also means that it's great to have lots of amazing ideas to implement but you can't do too many at once, this leave some things unjustified or half-arsed.

*Keep OOC and IC separate! Whether you think a character is an ass or a player is an ass, never let them both interfere with the other! There's some characters I personally loathe to interact with but I never assume the persona of the character is the exact same as the player. Equally just because a player is an ass OOCly does not mean you need to ignore their IC characters.

*On that note, and this may be an obvious one, be nice and help others! Whether someone's struggling to get NWN running, needs help with their character build or simply just struggle with the English language, be nice to them! I'm not going to name people or specifics, but I've heard some people get OOC annoyed at the spelling and grammar of some people, to which you really shouldn't! If you can understand what they're saying then take that how it is! "I really hate that bastard, Colin Reyes." should be taken the same way on an OOC level as "i relly hate that bastad colin reyes"!

*Appreciate DMs and their goals. It's unavoidable that a plot may rub off badly on you OOCly or that a DM isn't doing something the way you want them too but never take it out on them! DMs are rather selfless, I can say the current DM line-up are very selfless when it comes to their role, none abuse their status outside of OOC antics (such as killing people who are being silly in the lobby). I have a lot of respect and admiration for the ones who are currently active, especially compared to how I personally viewed a DM on this server years back. These guys are not only active, but always seeking to improve our enjoyment first and theirs second.

*Improving Amia subforum. Simple, if you want the server to run with great standards, report any bug abuses, glitches, typos or things you want to see added, buffed or nerfed! Why sit back complaining that certain things are the way they are without actually mentioning it to the people who can fix it? I'd really like to see more people involved there (and there is a lot more interest going on there!) so the server and those who help build it can continue to develop in a great direction.

*Donate. If you chuck a few bits of change in there then that's less money Disco or whoever pays the rest have to pay for YOU to play! I've done so in the past but not so much recently, but I encourage everyone to throw bits of money on there!

*My last point is to be welcoming, full stop. The more new players we get, the longer we can keep them enjoying the server the better. Some people may join who are not like the mass of us who know what to do on the server, know how to RP, what etiquette we use (such as not posting some IC facts OOCly) but the last thing we need is for snidey people to, instead of teaching and informing them, throw insults and belittle them. I honestly doubt there's one person on the server who wants it to be the same few players sometimes changing characters, we need newer players all the time!

I hope this is what you're looking for!
