My current cleric exordius was fun to play but due to my chosen build and my blabbing on the forums it has become difficult to continue playing. While i had planned to convert him to a different faith such would take a long time and be incredibly difficult. Also such would require extensive dm aid which would detract from everyone's rp and plot development and be a burden for said dms.

So i am going to retire exordius and make a new character in his image, without making the same mistakes again hopefully. Aside from his appearence and class he will be a completely different character and i will create a valid rp story for why i is so similiar to exordius. It is my hope that this time i can avoid then end result of exordius... that being hated and banned from everywhere. This time i will be much more cautious and secretive in my schemes.

Having to start at lv 1 will be somewhat boring but by doing so i can hopefully tweak my build and make the character more powerful and survivable then exordius. Surviving at epic lv is very hard and many have suggested that a different build could help. So that is my plan... and don't worry, i will not blab about it this time and ruin everyone's rp. :wink:

But, I do suggest you structure your text if you want readers; no one likes walls of text. Do some paragraphs, it's a great beginning, and helps you separate ideas instead of cramming everything into the same square of letters.

I read it. Anyway, I don't want to convince you to one way or another, though... you know, some people got already involved in your character RP, so what I really understood from your post is that you want to abandon your character, because you're banned from Cordor and Kohlingen?

No... tis not that. The problem is i made some huge mistakes which have made the character less enjoyable and effective. I had thought that my build was superb but after much adventuring and rp i have learned that he is actually quite weak. Also i have an entirely different idea in mind but converting him to it may not be possible. As for the bannings... how am i supposed to be evil if everyone knows it? I massively blew my cover and made it almost impossible for me to do anything vile. It was my mistake and i blame no one else but i feel restarting form scratch is the best option. Ill keep the basic look but change everything else. A new beggining. :wink:

It's not for trying to change your mind, but as far as I managed to RP with Exordius, my character doesn't trust him, but is willing to give him the opportunity due to the impressions that were given.
A character is supposed to endure both victories and failures; even the most secretives of the Maskarrans is bound to get caught one day, and that's perfectly fine. A blow for the character, not for the RP.

People have invested rp in Exordius? Last time i asked i was told that my rp was... not sufficient.

I do not mean to be rude, however, I do not think that you should make a topic on every movement that you make on the server. (You made a topic about that too!)

So far I had the chance to rp with your guy, there was nothing wrong with him and I doubt that there would be anything wrong in your rp. As long as you play in the DnD and the server standards, your rp is sufficient.

I was told it was not but with so many saying it is... maybe you guys are right. I assumed no one would care but maybe i should not give up just yet. I did not know so many people wanted him kept around. Maybe i will tough it out a little longer.

Separate the IC and OOC reactions. If your PC is evil and you receive negative IC reactions (such as banishments) on that, then you do something well.

Do not get disappointed by that.

I cannot really make a comment on the OOC level, but I would suggest you to contact with the DMs if you need any sort of advise on the matter.

Ah screw it... the customer is always right. You want Exordius so Exordius stays. I did not know so many liked him. Thank you all for letting me know about this, the last person i talked to said the entire server was laughing at me. It is nice to know some do enjoy my rp.

Somebody is just being a dick. Play your character the way you want to, but it would be a good idea not to make a new thread or forum post every time your character is indecisive about their religion. As players who interact with each other it's more interesting to us when we find that out, and its a mystery to us. You're fine.

And if the build sucks (Trust me, we have ALL done it), just pop over to the Build Thread, and work on the RP for a self-rebuild to something that doesn't suck. The guys there are massively nice and helpful and will give you a hand and probably a kickass build.

Dude you just did it again. Everyone who read this thread will have it somewhere in their mind that your character will scheme. You are pushing people into difficult situations and the subconciousness metagaming by telling everyone what are you going to do. Why do you feel that the rest of the server needs to know OOCly what are you doing with your characters?

I just live in a state of self-imposed IC/OOC paranoia where I assume everyone is evil and scheming against me. Level playing field for all!

Pure fighter... yes she had parry, no she didn't have circle kick but some other rather hilarious things.

Ok... all i will say is this. Exordius will stay. I will still create a new character that is similiar in appearance but it will not be a cleric. I have a new build i wish to try and exordius will be temporarily shelved while i experiment on Ex 2. I wont say what the build is other then that it is dicey. If it works great is it does not it will still be fun. And thats all i will say. Fair travels to all.

Eh, all I'm gonna say is IC banishments come with reason. It'll open as many doors to RP as it closes, I've found. Hell I play a Chromatic Tiamatian, there's seldom any settlements for me to visit without racial tension!

OOC, man first-time builds suck. Hardcore. If you prevail to 30 or so, or just stop grinding completely, then focus on RP, all you'll need to do is gather DCs for a more solid build that suits your character and is half decent in combat. But do note the order I just explained them in to.

To whoever said the whole server is laughing at you, we're not. A lot of us have a vision of how we want OOC things to be played, it just so happened you went against a lot of these (Posting regular OOC threads about your character's IC development, for example). These aren't bad per se, but remember we all want to enjoy an immersive IC! I won't lie and say that whenever I see Exordius now I'll have lingering OOC thoughts on him being a scheming evil person, especially as he holds no IC representation of being such (Like wearing a cloak of an evil god, for example).

Don't be so quick to shelve a character. Your character will never be on where you come out on top all the time, many get battered, killed, banished, threatened, assassinated, martyred and what have you!

Also I'll add if you're remaking Exordius' build, you'll still need to post in the rebuild part of the request forum for approval! Also "Ex 1" will not be able to be temporarily shelved, once rebuilt you will have to stick to "Ex 2"!

I should not have said ex 2... my apologies. My new character looks like him but that is only because i like the look form ex. Other then the appearance he is a completely new character. I do plan to have an ic story for why he looks like ex but he is most certainly not ex. This ones name and concept is much different. I am sorry my earlier statement caused confusion. Also... if you wish to know of my build i can give a brief overveiw of it in the build section. It wont break your rp if all you know is what i desire to create.
