NWN isn't really working. My computer did an update, it worked, but this error has returned. Anyone know what this is?

Try going into My Computer and run NWN as a program file, this is how I have to play the game too.

No, go into your hard drive, and into the NWN folder, then select NWNmain.exe and run as administrator from there (Right-click,run as admin)

Find nwmain.exe, right-click, properties, compatibility, check the "run this porgam as an admin" then open nwmain directly rather then opening though nwn.exe.

The only other thing I could pitch in with this is try running it in compatibility mode for older operating systems.

Works like a charm in windows 8 for me (just have to run in compatibility mode and as an administrator, as I did for windows 7)

Make sure you set everything to with compatibility, if you're running windows 7 or 8 then you need to set compatibility for all users. In the compatibility tap for nwmain.exe you got a button at the bottom which says "Change settings for all users", go in there, set it to XP service pack 3 and check the Run this program as an administrator. If that doesnt help you then you've got something else screwing with your environment. nwmain.exe was compiled in visual studio 6 which is some 13 years old now, the runtimes should be a standard within XP service pack 2 and up but you could try installing them anyway: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/259403/en-usOnly install the runtimes if everything else fails.
