I have been playing NWN for about 2 yrs and nearly all of that on Amia. Most of what kept me here was the wonderful community of players and DMs. You guys have some of the most creative and inspired minds and for the most part are very supportive, especially when I was a clueless newbie.

Lately though, particulary in the forums, there seems to be an increasing trend of viciousness and intolerance. The proverbial straw that broke this camel's back was seeing somebody being harrassed for grammatical errors. It looked to me like a couple of bullies on the playground getting annoyed with another kid and beating him in front of his peers and looking at him as if to say, "I am bigger than you, what are you going to do?" It was needlessly belittling and demeaning, and in no way constructive.

For some people here, English is not first language and even the most educated person is apt to make errors when emotions run hot. I believe we are better than this. Please don't let our frustrations tear apart this community.

I believe the #1 rule on this server is respect other players. People are bound to disagree, but lets try to be repectful about it.

In case you're referring to me quoting Naivatkal on his 'An RP', that was purely in jest, and my own response was ironically grammatically incorrect on purpose to show that it wasn't to be taken as a serious bash on the player.

Sure. I just wanted people to remember that even though there are no life like toons running around in the forum, we are all still people behind these names and we should treat each other with respect.

Although the post I zeroed in on was meant as playful banter, there are countless others that aren't.
