Yo.

Name's Berach. Was referred here by a friend from another server.

So! Uhm. I'm ... er...a long hair?
Blonde too.

Ahem...yehp. EN E WEIGHS
Can't wait to play here, though first, I have a question needs asking, and answering.
Would it be atrocious to ask if I can alter the 'Air Genasi' very slightly (and non-mechanically) into a 'Smoke Genasi'?

Reason being, is that I would like to sort of planes walk one over to Amia (level newb, of course). Named Winry. She is and has been a Sigil-resident for most of her life, but makes minor treks to other planes/primes in idle curiosity for how things work, and to meet interesting folks. Naturally, this also includes the procuring of particularly interesting artifacts and what have you. She was born in the lovely Hive Wards, and thusly, has been raised rather roughly. Doing what -she- needs to survive, be it steal, blackmail or other neat fun things that may or may not be questionable. Truth be told, however, the woman is rather lawful, seeing it as something necessary, but not too high up as not to be stepped over to allow survival. Generally, she makes off with being a roguish, brawler sort...though in certain planes where the weave fits her just right, she can manage much more interesting things.

The roleplaying reasoning for her arrival? Well, an accidental stride through the wrong door of course. This, will have induced a large sum of amnesia, given the unwillingness of the trip. Just enough to return her to a mental state of a fresh adventurer, though I intend to roleplay her as having much of her memory of Sigil, and perhaps a few other places.

Let me know what you think, or, if you have any questions. Also, if it's alright, naturally.

Anyhow! Hope to hear soon! Toodaloo~

You'd need a special request to make a smoke genasi (I don't know if those are in the setting). You can bend the look of your air genasi to your interpretation though.

Yup, yup, special characters require a request so take a peek at the respective sub-forum. That said, welcome and enjoy your stay!

It'd require a request I'm afraid. Welcome though!

I'd advise on playing a bit before you make a request as well.

I dunno... Air genasi to smoke genasi seems like such a tiny change that making him make a full request for it seems a bit absurd. Just have the character be an air genasi whose elemental ancestor was from some region of the plane of Air that lies close to its edge with the para-elemental plane of Smoke. It's an entirely cosmetic thing, anyway; mandatting a request for that would feel a little like mandating a request for "can I play a character who's very tall" or some such thing.

Not that my opinion counts for amything, of course. Listen to Silent, he is wise. :)

It's a tiny aesthetic change but the two planes are vastly different with different inhabitants, it's also very inhospitable (from what I remember,) so it'd definitely need a request.

Air and smoke have different attributes.
air: +2 dex/int -2 wis/cha
smoke: +2dex/int -2 str/cha

I'll roll up a character to get some grop- er...to feel out the- er...get a feel for the server.

Anyone know if there's a specific need for any particular sort of character?
I'll at least make it useful while it's around. =3

Nice to meet you all! Can't wait to meet you in character.

Sometimes making a character for certain requirements last a short time in their IG life. If making a character exclusively for a certain faction, for example. Factions can suddenly drop in some cases and may make you feel your character has no place (It's not necessarily true, though). I know it's probably going to be to get some familliarity with the server and things and may not be intended as a more regular/permanent character, but you may find you want to carry on with them when you get to a certain point in RP.

I'd suggest make a character with a list of goals, some achievable, others more unlikely to get close possibly, including certain things that would expand the goals list IG. It probably wont be clear before or during creation, but things that happen via RP may change courses for the character, causing development of their personality, etc.

I'm not saying short lived characters are bad, though and it's your choice if you want that. The DM's sometimes organise 'Alt. Beginings' for people and usually it has a certain theme and at some point the characters may be exposed to being perma-killed. The Elven one (for Evermeetians who travelled to Amia, staying at Winya) is an example of a less limited DM run beginings, though. They weren't restricted to certain play times and not required to perma-die (Yet, atleast. Not sure if that may change, or even if it is still being run, but I do know some of the ones who joined it still play theirs). I think it started about a year or more ago, that specific one. Also, from what I've seen/heard, the Alt beginings have been quite popular in the past.

I'd say roll up a Hin (Halfling) of any class(es).

It's always good to have a Hin cause the lil folk in Bendir Dale are welcoming and fun. And the merchant is fairly well visited giving you an opportunity to converse with (or giggle at) many different folks.

Welcome Aboard!

Advice taken! First character that I'm sticking to for now, is Micale Zora! =D Strongheart Halfling extraordinaire.

Nice to see that word of the Promised Land still runs on the streets and lures you n00bs to join us. Ask the DMs for instructions, even though they're a bunch of slobs, and see here for further information to come up with your request. I don't know what the stance of the DM crew is on planewalking from another realm and I've certainly never heard of such before, but there's a precedent for everything. Until a DM comes here to shake its long-clawed finger, that is.
