fair enough..thought that this was the case;) For me..there is something for the master scout that it missing. For example some sort of tool or I dunno other basic scouting equipment that would make the character more like a scout..for example: sextant, compass etc.

Any news on the possible changes to Master Scout and Knight Commander?

The Knight Commander feat Barricade of Swords has been improved thusly: the shield damage is now 1d10 slashing damage, +2 per Knight Commander level, +1 per Charisma modifier, to a maximum of Knight Commander level. They also gain 5% damage immunity to bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage, +1% per Charisma modifier, to a maximum of Knight Commander level. The Knight Commander feat Entreatment has been improved to also include a penalty of -2 Attack Bonus to those failing their Will save. The code has also been improved so it should work better at drawing aggro from monsters, though it will no longer work on epic bosses. The Knight Commander feat Bulwark of Vigilance has been improved to an 8% speed decrease per Knight Commander level, rather than 5%. (There may also be additional changes for this feat in the future.) The Master Scout Weapon Essences now last 17 turns, rather than 10 turns. The Master Scout crafting costs far less gold now to reflect our current economy.

Ah, I did not see that one. I suppose that means the other ideas for Master Scout were dropped?

I don't think it means necessarily anything besides what has been changed. All of those changes are tuning so anything is possible, really.

I like how the Master Scout also synergises with other than generally sneaky classes and opens up a whole lot of alternatives to playing and building with its utility from druid and ranger feats and especially from Uncanny Dodge. Knight Commander feels more restricted as it seldom works with less than five levels. I actually haven't played a KC myself yet so it's hard to say, but generally I feel comfortable having one in the party.

Yeah, I'm not done yet. The idea of using Master Scout levels to count as ranger for the animal companion was dropped, though. Wasn't possible.

Ah, a pity. Granted, my char does not have the last level in MS yet, but the list of what can be created seems somewhat bare-bone compared to what I understand was on the old harper item list. Perhaps some more utility items for outdoorsy people? Stuff giving bonuses to skills like search, spot/listen, stealth and the likes? Trackless Step is nice, but for rangers taking the class, that feat is reduntant.

No, the items are vastly better than what the Harper Scout received. It was mostly trash with a couple of items which were unbalanced. With the weapon essence, grenades and trap upgrades, the Master Scout has plenty. It's a strong class.
