I'm looking for a high skilled amorsmith to deal with a rare and still powerful metal alloy. The rest of the information will be handled in person. Only people of good heart will be admitted. Please address your interest to the Cathedral of Martyr-Saint.

I am an armorer, yet not a master at that craft. My services are available to you if you desire.

My dear lady Mengala
I thank you for your interest and aid. It's critical that you're capable to work with a rare metal alloy, containing not only iron, but also a mineral often named as dead iron. Do you have the knowledge about it ? And most important, to proceed on building an armor made of steel, containing this mineral. Unless you have another type of mineral resistant enough that would allow another component, such as this dead iron, without disturbing its properties.

Fortunately I am also a master weaponsmith, in which I have worked together countless materials. The plating of armor is not nearly as difficult for the combining of unique metals, as much as the shaping and fitting or the plates to suit the individual's need. Not to say that the matierial properties ar irrelevent, but a small sample of the metal you discussed in which to practice firing, hammering and quenching would prove invaluable.

I'm concerned if the characteristics of the dead iron will disturb the nature of the steel or other material you're wondering to work with, perhaps adamant. Would the dead iron turn it less resistant to blows or arrows ?

Each metal is unique in it's own properties and compatibilities with others. Since I am not familiar with the material you described it is hard to say what impact merging the two would have on either or both materials. As for the mithril or adamantine I am use to working with, it is heated to a different temperature based on the second metal it is being welded by hammer and folding, heating and quenching. A varient of temperature can have damaging results to either or both metals. Months of practice may be needed at the forge to find the heating and structural properties of your material, unless you already have documentation of such. I would require melting temperature and specific hue of colors at each threshehold of maluability. The quenching properties and brittleness of said material would also be needed, such as, would cold water cause this material to shatter or harden, would boiling water cause it to not quench fully. I believe without this information I would have to apply my trade for many a night at the forge to identify the significant traits. Mengala

I'm afraid, my dear, I know little about such rock. But perhaps you may find it interesting. Also, a master dwarf may know about this component. I'll try to assemble some information about it before requesting your services. But if I get nothing, then you will be more than welcome to run a few tests over it.

Miss Mengala.
It seems it's not so easy than I thought. After visiting the dwarf port, I was informed that mister Aegus has the knowledge on working with such material. Perhaps you could assemble your skills with him and also learn on working with it. I already sent a letter to him just waiting for a reply.
I'll be more than pleased to see you both on this.
