Here's your chance to add some character to the Living City. I'd like to open up the opportunity to you all to provide some little bits of character to the history of Tarkuul, in the form of names and backgrounds for a few past inhabitants. They weren't people of terrifying power or insidious intent, just regular citizens of Tarkuul from far into the past. To start with there are nine (9) such "people" that need information for them. They were all arcane spell casters of one kind or another, of varying powers, specialties, quirks, habits, etc. I don't need the unabridged history of their entire life here, just a name and a few key details that really illustrates what made them who they were. Feel free to throw in a prestige class here and there if you'd like, but sometimes "less is more" too. Please PM me your suggestions and mark the subject as "Living History" so that I can sort them out of the ten to fifteen other messages I get daily and please be aware that I may have to make small tweaks here and there to make it fit just right into the existing history of the Living City. Any questions can be posted below. I look forward to reading what you come up with!

I am willing to give 5 DCs to the writer of the single entry that I find the most entertaining, intriguing, and useful tocrafting a richer and more vibrant history of our setting. These DCs will be my own personal ones, not the ones given by DMs to reward excellent RP. Like DCs used to help fellow players in requests, I believe that this is something I want to encourage.

Nothing to do with anything that's currently established IG.

Just sent you a sketch, Glim... don't worry, it's only just slightly longer than one page.

Just curious... is this stuff going to end up as knowledge that's reasonably available publicly, IC? I'm kind of interested in seeing what others came up with, if it would be plausible for it to end up in the forums anywhere.

You know, they say that Tarkuul is a place where knowledge is freely given, but that's really not the case at all!

Some of the information will be present IG, readily available, as well as dependant on your character's Lore skill. The rest is up to you; there is tons of story, lore and knowledge to be poked at all over Tarkuul and I'm always open to people searching ICly.

As Yossarin has been absent, I've decided see his initial offer through by using my own DCs instead. After much deliberation, I'd like to congratulated Lizzie on her creative and vibrant crafting of the "Necromaestro". I really appreciated the bevy of responses that I got, and as mentioned you can find the 9 entries that were chosen, IG in Tarkuul, there for any and all to see/discover for themselves, a lasting piece of Amian history as submitted by the players. After a few of my current projects are completed, I hope to provide more such opportunities soon enough.

Wow! I'm kind of thrilled and humbled that my character sketch was well received, but really the chance to put a bit of my own touch into the module is reward enough. I know it sounds cheesy and fake to say that, but it's 100% true. Seriously, feel free to give the DCs to the next submission, or split them among the top five, or something.

Lizzie has the right idea in passing on it. It really wasn't offered in the spirit of what should motivate folks to contribute to the module in this way.

Whether the "right idea" is to pass them on or not, is entirely up to Lizzie; she's free to use her DCs as she sees fit, just as any other player is. If she wants to donate them back as Talia suggested, that's her call, just as it was my call to donate them to her in the first place. It's not a reward for the work by a DM, it's an acknowledgement of an enjoyable piece of writing by a fellow player. That's why the DCs came from my own DCs as a player, not DM generated DCs.
