Hello,

It's been a long time since I've played on the server and I'm considering checking it out again, see what has happened since last. I used to have a character named Jet, a level 18 (or 19, can't remember) Sorceress. The reason I mention this (since I don't expect anyone to remember her :P) is that I would like to play that character again and I was wondering if she has been deleted from the server. I can't remember how long I have been gone but it's been maybe 9 months, maybe more.

I seem to remember that characters are tied to cd-keys, and I don't have my old copy of neverwinter anymore. Will this be a problem? Will I be able to reclaim my characters, provided they are even still in the server?

Thank you in advance, and wishing you the best rp. :)

Nah, characters don't don't get deleted here! But as for the CD key, you'll have to make a new character, and ask a DM to authorize you. You shouldn't go through the mirror until that is done, to my understanding.

I believe I recognize that character name, actually. I do not think I have ever RPed with that character, but I recognize it hah.
Welcome back!

Thanks for the quick responses, I guess I'll try my luck then! Would be great to have that character back.

Two years gone and came back right into the characters as I left them. I'm sure you'll be just fine. ;)

I remember Jet! Hopefully you have fun in Amia again. I know there's a lot to see that's different.

Well, this is certainly strange.

I just got NWN Diamond from GOG.com and installed and started it with no fuss. GOG says on their webpage that you need to request a new cd key if you want to play online (which I then requested), but just for curiosity's sake I went and tried to log online anyways. I used my regular username and password, and wouldn't you know it, I got into the server selection screen.

Then I find Amia, figure it won't work but what the heck, and try to log on Amia A. Nope, says someone is already using my password on this server (um, okay...). Then I try Amia B...

No message of cd key trouble, logs me in just fine, and all my characters are there as though I never left.
Now, I'm gonna try and log in with Jet as intended, but this is weirding me out. Keep in mind that, apart from buying the game anew, I'm also sitting on a brand new computer that has never had neverwinter installed on it before. I suppose my username and password apparently was enough to let me have my characters, but why will it only let me into Amia B?

I'll probably try that "new cd key" thing that GOG said I needed to see if it fixes my problems with logging into A, unless someone knows another fix to this curious happening.

Oh, and someone remembers Jet! Yay! :D

I think when you receive your CDkey from GOG it will be fine.

Yah, I think so too.

I can log into both Amia's now, except I get booted a second later. :P So close and yet so far.

My theory is that other Amians have a GOG version of NWN and the server will not allow me to log on when that person/those persons are on. I think when I get the cd key from GOG that I will still have to get it "approved" by the DMs in order to not get booted. That's my theory, anyways.

Actually... we actively block that key, for obvious reasons. You even get a message about it when you try to login.

Given there is no legit login requirement for CD-Keys at this point, surely you could just assign folks a random 20 character cipher?
