Proclaimed up and down the Western edge of the island, relayed from town to village, from village to farmstead are the simple catch phrases:
"Uhm protects its own!"
and
"Amia for Amians!"
and
"Eastern Devils never, Our Militia is forever"
The phrases were born in fire and smoke in the town of Uhm, were the last straw was broken amongst the disgruntled townsfolk, who rioted through the houses of the foreign "Invaders". What riches could be carried of were, and what could not be carried of, or had no value was set upon the cross roads and fired, burned to ash and cinders with especial focus given to the idols of the false foreign gods.
Uhm's militia stood on watch behind its walls, and its people rejoiced at the masterstroke which saw the Eastern Devils expelled from their domain. A surge in the patriotism of Uhm's faithful see's more activity in the town than ever before, lumberjacks daring the forests and bringing back huge amounts of raw timber to be fashioned into ballistae. Even the Militia see's a boost in numbers with regular drilling, proud men in old family armor and leather, with pitted steel swords and halberds, marching in step through the town.
Victory proclaimed!

Hearing of the calamity during a trip to the Temple of Love, a certain Sharessin priestess would clutch a hand over her heart. Beautiful features were stricken over as she sighed, her eyes closing before she uttered a simple prayer to her goddess for peace and forgiveness towards the people of the town, and also for the unfortunate easterners that have been pushed from the homes they were innocently making. A thought crossed her mind to visit and possibly speak with the townsfolk, however with all that was happening right now ...
Hers was not the only reaction that was seen on that day to the news, of course. Several others bore the news with stoic solidity and even passive attention, figuring such matters were not their business. Two people of note, however, did hear of such things. One was another Kara-Turan. A young, soft-spoken and educated man that had not been on Amia for very long. The news was disturbing to him, and a soft frown creased his face upon hearing it.
Yet another was more ... delighted to hear of what had transpired. This individual, with such malicious glee in his black little heart, let out a cackle of unabashed wickedness.

The Fire Burned in Norio's eyes, hours after the fact. He could still see the Fire with thier belongings by the side of the road. He could see the childs toy that had belonged to his young son among the ashes, he could see it smoulder and then be consumed by the flames. Rage rose within him like the flames.
There would be blood...
He could still hear the laughter of the guards as they mocked the Samurai, he could still hear them insulting the honour of his lord, calling him a coward and a thief. He could still hear the crackle of the flames, the order from his superior to leave.
There would be blood...
He stood and watched the forest, struggling to master the fire within him, to master his anger and his desire for vengeance, for Honour to be satisfied. He remembered his words to the militia captain.. "You and I, will settle this another day" The Vengeful samurai smiled darkly, and peace was upon him.
Yes... There Would be blood.

Jade eyes glint in shadow as one Kozakuran watches her "kin". She makes no movements, but the displeasure reads easily on her face just the same. Watching the entire scene, she melts away silently, not involving herself in either side, merely gathering information to report to her husband.

A large man in blood-caked, red armor observes the fire. He can be heard muttering
The Reaver is pleased.

Hand of Ieyrn Saylgarix does what he can in his off shift hours to find out what's going on in the neighboring town. He speaks with the villagers of Wharftown, and with the other militia members, trying to find out what he can about the problems going on in Uhm.

One eastern devil would arrive at the gates oh Uhm at twilight and lay half a dozen bouquets of sweet peas before offering the gates of the town a low bow and strolling on, seemingly without a care.

Zanzu walked at a moderate pace to the outskirts of Uhm, noticing the smoldering cloud above the walls where the dojo once stood. He stopped in his track before the gate, and gave a glance to the melitia guards. Without paying any attention to the expressions of the guards, he knew what had occured. Zanzu truned and began walking the direction he came.

Having witnessed the events a young woman with a heart full of Tiamat's strife and fury laughed inwardly at the suffering of a people she did not know or give a damn about. Let them all suffer for their arrogance and hypocrisies. Today the easterners are driven out maybe the next they will return to burn down the town who cast them aside. In either case she thought Tiamat is pleased.

Once he finally manages to get to Uhm a certain fey sighs and turns around on his heels, walking off with a muttered comment.
"How Amian of them.."

Somewhere in Tarkuul... Enforcer Gerald sips a glass of wine after hearing about this.
"Huh... Glad I didn't buy a house there."

Two nights ago, a paper lantern slowly made its way across Fishing Village's airspace. Tonight, another lantern was sent floating low over the village. Those with keen eyes (or someone who would somehow knock it out of the air) would see four scenes painted on the rice paper. Each scene took up one side of the square lantern. The first panel would show two men, one painted blue and the other green, swords in hand. They appear to be battling a giant-looking monster with sharp teeth and angry eyes. The second panel showed the two men walking away from a walled village, much like Uhm. The third panel was the green man looking down at a tombstone. Resting against the tombstone would be a large sword, bigger even than the man that looked down upon the burial place. The fourth panel showed no men. Painted on it was a pair of tombstones, the same greatsword resting against one, and a halberd-type weapon resting against the second.
