Mine's in too. It's just very poorly written. I'll try to revise it into something less sloppy when we move to the PC Story board.

I am slowly putting together my character soon, I have had a rough week I hope to sit down and do some research and type up his biography and such. I will be taking one of the Samurai positions however, exactly who and what he is though might depend on what else people are going for.

I've settled on swordsaint in training. :p

Guess I will go for a more "Old Fashioned Samurai" and go with being an Archer primarily, swordsman second. If we had horses, he would be a horse archer... but unfortunatly... we don't.

We'll tie four dwarves together and you can ride them.

Ichirou Ryuunosake (Pronounced "Ree-oo-no-skay"), a polearm focused Samurai, proficient also with a Katana, Wakizashi, bow, and a tanto, as well as being a martial artist. His name is derived from the Japanese phrase, "Herald of the Dragon," attributed to his deceased father's accomplishments. Ryu's one of the older Samurai, though his body has been perfected through meditations and increased Ki training (20 Monk!). He offers training to rising Samurai, from weapons training, philosophy on war, and Ki harnessing (He calls his own Ki "Dragon Fire").

He serves the family directly as a bodyguard to the Princess, and has done so since her birth.

There's much more, of course-- This is just a little declaration of the direction I'm headed with this character, for other Samurai to work with.

Looking at that portrait, all I can think of is:

From the first time I saw it, I was convinced that it's somebody's fake-watercolor version of Ken Watanabe in the Last Samurai.

Sunkin, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I think right now we've got the nobility, a bunch of awesome samurai of various flavors, and one sneaky assassin-type, right?

I'm kind of feeling a big hole in the clan, where our court mystic should be.

No, I don't think so. But I wanted to have a place for characters to play a female character that isn't directly placed beneath the men of their world. The assassin women are respected in their culture on the standard of how one respects, let us say, a poisonous flower.
Irregardless, you're welcome to play a male assassin.

Murex, don't you think it might have been you know... wise to make sure everythings cool with the player thats orgainising this little concept before you rush in game and start levelling? Espcially considering two of the -key- characters still need DM approval before they can even be played? And we're still waiting on Hackums to flesh out his introduction story, and I thought yours!

and how do you make them show up in the threads like that?

I don't know how to use the internet too great. A Luddite in conversion.

I'm just sticking in google phrases like

"Samurai Concept art"
"Samurai digital art"
"Bushido Monk"

etc, etc.

When you find a picture you want I'll put it on my photobucket, give you an IMG code and you can post the picture to the forum. Easily done!

Deviantart.com and cghub.com are both my sources of pictures. They've got some fun search functions! It takes some searching, and it's hard to find something that matches as much as you'd like it to.

If you've got a picture but the colors of the clothes or hair don't match, feel free to send it my way and I can edit it pretty quickly (Thanks to lessons from a certain someone on Amia).

Hah, yes. If you find a portrait that's similar, or in a fashion that you like, you can click on the artist and browse his gallery. Then, if you can't find anything, you can browse through that artist's favorites. Then search through the artists of some of his favorites. That way, you tend to stay on fairly high quality portraits.

I generally search for Clan pictures from the various legend of the Five Rings games. They have some very nice art, also, they actually have a Mantis clan too, which the photo I used is from.

We're pretty across the map. I'm California, I think a decent chunk are from the eastern side of the US. There's some Englishmen. and maybe one aussie? Don't worry about time! I say. I say you just look who's on, and flock there when you can. I kind of play at neurotic hours throughout the day, since I work from home and stuff, meaning, school is out, and I don't have to do the day job gig until late august. But even then, I'll be mostly available.

I'm GMT -5.. but I'm in summer school. I play too much, and you'll see me on at least sometime in the day.

Yes Eunuch! I don't even know if Wa has eunuchs, but I'm all for the idea of eunuch priests. All clerics should be eunuchs.
