Hi people! I was wondering in OOC terms, what must I do to take this PRC? I can't find anything about applications for the PRC, but I did read that I need to contact a DM in the game to get the type of DD I want. How does that work? Is that all or is there more? Thank you!

It does not require a request. You just fetch a dm in game and you are changed to the appropriate wing color, immunity and breath weapon to my knowledge. If you want to get extras like a tail or legs then you need to write up a request. Quote: Dragon Heritage
The RDD is not limited to merely red on Amia. All chromatics may be chosen (red, blue, green, black and white), all metallics may be chosen (gold, silver, bronze, brass and copper), along with the planar dragon choice of shadow. This choice affects the disciple's wing color, immunity and breath type. In order to choose a dragon type, a DM must be asked to grant the benefit. Note that a DM does not have to grant this perk, especially if a PC wildly differs from the established canon details of that dragon type.

If you want some nifty source info on Dragon Disciples and just everything Dragon in general, I'd highly recommend checking out the Draconomicon and also Races of the Dragon, two very good sourcebooks chalk full of lore.

Jes made a dump of Dragon lore info a while back that I don't know still exists... But...
One thing you should know about Dragon Disciple is that you are willingly going through series of rituals ICly to become more like the dragon you are choosing.
Dragon and her morality isn't like that of mortal's. The choice of which dragon you pick (evil vs good "colors") will affect your character mentally and ideologically, not simply in your appearance. There are also various IC consequences depending on which color your character chose ICly, as this is a Roleplaying server. So while there's not a lot of things to consider OOC, you really should give it some thought about the choice IC. You may suddenly find yourself being an outcast of a certain demographic unintentionally.

Exactly as Tomato says, the character will become more like the dragon they are a descendant of. Not only do the physical ramifications become apparent from the first level (ie some light scales at first or whatever), the psychological aspects of the character's mentality should shift towards the alignment of their ancestor. And because dragons are always the same alignment of their color (species?), the character slowly moves towards those goals and mindsets and such.

Thanks everyone! I already had a bunch of lore and such, so was more curious about the process of taking the class in the game (mechanical way, if it needed unlocking/approval in any way). But, that link with the lorestuffs -- especially the ritual section -- is extremely useful. As for the mindset and such, it's what I already had in mind! Thanks again!

I also remember reading somewhere that doing said rituals does not bring you to be like your individual ancestor dragon but the general race of said dragon. So even if your 10xGreat grandfather was a CN Blue Dragon, you would become the "norm" of the dragon and be pulled towards evil so trying to play a good chrom RDD or an evil Metal RDD isn't plausible (I don't remember if it was a DM that said so and of course there may be huge stretches to be made, at the discretion of DM staff of course" I've always wanted to make an RDD but never got around to it

You need to be a Sorcerer or Bard and have at least 8 skill points in Lore to unlock the Dragon Disciple.
