I am just curious if I have one character find / make something, then sell it to a vendor, then log out then back in on another character and buy said item, if that is against the rules?

examples. My druid / shifter makes a backpack from the leather working job. I then go to the vendor in Cordor and sell it to him. Then I go get my monk and head to the vendor and buy it from him. My dwarf fighter finds a nice morning star that would be great for my cleric. I sell it off to a vendor..ect ect ect.

I am asking because as I said, my druid made a backpack (the kind that just shows up on your character and has no actual function as a pack) and my monk has her armor look so that no cloak is shown and the pack on her back would work so well for rp value because of her serving Llmater and her purpose in life is to ease suffering of others. The backpack would be great to keep healing supplies and bandages in (for rp purposes as I said)

Common sense would tell me that if it was bought from a vendor and not just handed over for someone to hold then said person gives it to my other character, that it should be ok since it was bought and paid for and it had no level restrictions, but it's better safe than sorry, this is why I am asking...thanks for any clearification.

Contact the copper industries, or post a missive on the pc notice board seeking a leatherworker to create it for you. Rule of thumb: What you had on one character, should not end up on another of your characters. Regardless if it is via npc store, dropping it or another player character - also regardless if you have two accounts.

Very much against the rules. This would result in both characters being stripped.

Thanks for the clerification. As I said, common sense would tell me that if it was sold / bought at the vendor, then it should be ok, but I am glad I asked because I don't want to lose any of my girls for something so stupid. I didn't realize that because it was made by another of my characters, that it was not ok to do this.

Thanks again for clearing it up for me..love ya'll like spinach, mean it. :P

I'm glad you're asking. Here's the rule of thumb.

Has another one of your characters touched this item?
If yes: DON'T TOUCH, this is muling.
If no: Do what you will.

If you mule, we will catch you, and the punishment for this is a FULL strip of ANY characters involved. I bold these words because we mean it. If we find items from all your other characters on your newbie Half-Orc Smart Wizard that loves everyone, all your characters will lose all their items.

I hate doing strips. They suck. But muling is bad, peeps.

Clarification: Job System items sold to Job System Merchants are largely exempt from this, I'd heard months ago. Is that still the case now?

Its not largely exempt its totally exempt because the Job System runs of a database of resources.

That said you (not you specifically the collective playerbase you) are a fucking lamewad if your crafting backpacks just to sell them so your character can buy them.
