Hello all. I am new and have been looking for a good rp server to play on. I played NWN and NWN2 for some time now and have been heavily in to the forgotten realms setting for a long time now. I am not new to rp and hope to have a lot of good times here. Though I do have a few questions. I want to play a Drow in the Underdark. Now is there a starting area for this? Also how active is the Underdark? The last place I rped at on NWN2, it seemed always empty when playing Underdark. Other then that I think I will figure out everything else. I look forward to meeting you all and having great rp.

The UD is actually pretty active as of the past several months, which is cool. It has it's ups and downs, but people have been keeping it really up lately!
If you want to start as a Drow, you want to do this:
Make your Drow on the Amia B server and select 'Underport' as your starting location. That will mean two things:
1) You start in L'Obsul on B, which is one of the Drow areas.
2) You will start in Underport on A, which is highly preferable to the old UD starting point.
ninja edit: The above is to my best knowledge. 99% sure that's how I started my new drow (I messed up my first and started at the old A server starting point haha).

Yup! And also welcome, haha.
We have a great community on this server, it's the reason I've been here for two years without realizing it and I have no reason to look elsewhere!
Been trying to get my new gal more integrated into the UD stuff, too, so we'll see!

It never gave me an option and sent me to this place when i clicked on the gate mere thing.

Ahh yes the mirror in the first room you come to, right? Did you already go to the 'Subrace Activation' room?

Yes, I did that. Then I clicked on the mirror and it sent me to a Underdark place. not sure if it is the right one though.

When you click on the mirror, it have you go through some menus and one of the options is to 'start at the recommended starting place' or a second option for an 'alternative location' (not exact wording by any means). 'Alternative location' is the one you wanted to pick. That puts you at L'Obsul on B and Underport on A. What's the name of the map you are on when you log into A and also on B?

It seems not give me an option. but I start at L'Obsul on B.

Yeah that's pretty much the only start point on B. Check on A, you might be at Ultrannin (sp?).

Ah, yeah, that's the old starting point. I -think- you can request to get your starting point on A changed to the Underport ... but you'd have to ask a DM to verify that!
