The accursed sun was settling, becoming less annoying and blinding. The shadows grew thicker. Three drow males moved quietly along the road under concealment of invisibility spell. They were silent, only exchanging handsigns. Once the drow spotted an elven woman upon a hill, they closed in on her. A terrified scream followed soon after.

Vierrae, who was observing the scene through the eyes of one of the three males, smiled triumphantly. ~Nicely done. Now bring her here.~ The mental order was followed immediately and the drow stepped through a portal, whisking their captive to Edonil.

The young priestess approached them, studying the elf curiously, then turned to her brother. Tell her she is given a great honor of becoming a sacrifice to the Dread Queen. Tell her and make sure she understands. Watching the panic rising even more in the poor girl, Vierrae smiled again, tapping the metal plate on her hip with a poisoned spike of her armor ring.

Bring her to the Temple and lock her in a cell, securely. Her time will come in a few cycles. After the ritual all Edonil would know the House My'afin has a new Il'haress.

While his compatriots collect themselves and their equipment after the evening's "entertainment" As'drubal still watches their captive with rapt attention. Squatting low in front of her so that his face is even with hers, he stares at the hapless sobbing form slumped on the floor, savoring each moment of her suffering; taking in each tear like sips of the finest wine. He closes his eyes and smells her innocence, the warm soft smell of a women fresh from girlhood, the sweat of her struggle, and the dirt of her defeat blending with the metallic tang of her wounds to make fragrance the ruthless jaluk finds nearly irresistible.

His eyes open slowly and he continues to watch the tortured soul ahead of him with a mixture of sinister intentions and curiosity. He's seen elves before, even spoken to a few, but it always amazed him how creatures so evil... ones responsible for so many, nay all, of his people's pain could be so weak. It also surprises him to see up close how similar she looks to any other jalil, if not for her disgusting skin color, and he is happy to realize that the similarities end there. For no proper jalil would take what this one has with such obvious humility.

Smiling his wolfish grin as he thinks of what lies ahead for this ill fated being he reaches out to her. The elven lass immediately flinches, her bruised and broken body jerking the chains in a futile attempt at escape, causing the male to let out a laugh. His arm still outreached, the elf comes to terms with her situation and relaxes some, looking to the jaluk with fearful wet eyes. Reaching out a bit more, she turns her face from him while he wipes away a blood stiffened strand of hair. Running his hand from there down her jawline, past her cheek, and finally ending with her chin between his fingers he turns her face towards his. Confused by the apparent affection the elf stops her sobbing a moment to look him in the eye. The tall foreboding jaluk widens his grin as his glowing red eyes look into her's. For a brief second the two share a moment before the large hand swiftly pulls away from her face and returns to it in a resounding back handed slap. As she whimpers, he laughs. "Until we meet again little dirthiir..." trails from his mouth as he stands and joins his exiting Ilharess.

The rather large sirrush sat staring at the contents of the jail cell in the Temple. Standing next to him was a little feminine figure. She was dressed in little, a sparkling breastplate over a short skirt, black leather boots with well placed and sharpened spikes and a lovely, masterfully made amulet that was a pair of spider fangs upon a delicate silver web. She had a perfectly manicured hand on a hip and a perfectly sculpted eyebrow raised. “Look, someone has left me a gift.” Her voice was pleasant and her perfect drow sounded silky and exotic.

The sirrush grunted.

“So very pale.” Ul’ath’tallar Nizzre’tyne continued. “How is it that they survive as transparent as they are? I can see veins beneath her very thin skin.” Nizzre’tyne frowned. “How are we supposed to make decent boots from them with that thin skin?”

Then her smile returned and she opened the cell door and stepped closer. The sirrush moved to her side bearing its teeth so that the elf might understand she could easily be a snack. Then Nizzre’tyne lifted her hands and began a chant. Power began to build in the little room until she channeled her Queens gift through herself and directed it into the elf. The power was as sinister as Nizzre’tynes grin as it clawed through the elf and healed her completely.

“There you are my dear.” Nizzre’tyne said as she turned and departed the cell. Out into the entry room of the Temple Ul’ath’tallar Nizzre’tyne spoke to the Spider Guard on duty. “Do pass along word that I want to hear elf screaming. It should be nice and loud since it’s got its strength back.” She moved to enter the alter room and then said over her shoulder. “Oh and find out who left me that as a gift.”

Before leaving the elf in the cell, Vierrae had told one of the Spiderguards to enlighten any that came asking about the captive that the elf was brought in by the House My'afin and that the new Il'haress was going to bring the elf as a sacrifice to the Queen, so respectfully requested to keep the captive alive. The Il'haress expressed hopes the Ul’ath’tallar Nizzre’tyne might enjoy the elf's sufferings until the date of the ritual comes.

Hearing the respectful reply from the Spider Guard, Nizzre’tyne paused thoughtfully. “How lovely of House My’afin to share.” She smiled yet her tone was firm as she gave her command. “None save House My’afin shall touch or speak to the captive without permission of Ilharess My’afin. Anyone caught doing such answers to myself, Yath’tallar Zah’lil’il and Yath’tallar Elvinna’dris.” Her look as she entered the alter room was one that was clearly hopeful that someone might disobey this command and provide some fun for the Temple Yath’tallars.

A thin smirk spreads across Elvis's face while she's speaking with a Spider Guard about all the details during some downtime between her yath'tallar duties. All she does is turn to the yathrin that is always watching the Temple anteroom and that teaches their little yath'abbanen how to be proper preachers. "Do have a runner go and tell As'drubal and Victyr of House My'afin that Yath'tallar Elvinna'dris seeks to speak with them and is naut pleased.

Victyr's chest inflated with pride as they escorted their victim first to the Il'haress and then to the temple, being none too gentle about it. It had only been a short time since the new Il'haress had taken the throne, but already he was thrilled with the devious progress they were making. His good humour was slightly tainted by the occasional bouts of bickering he shared with his brothers-in-arms. It was later destroyed when he received the missive from Elvinna'dris.

The invitations to join the sacrificial ceremony were sent out to the Matrons of Ussen d'Vhid and Tinnerai, Ul'ath'taller and yath'talleren Zah'lin'il and Elvinna'dris. Another letter was sent to L'E'spdon Krrja with a request to provide wards so the ceremony would not be interrupted. Seems like the time of the elf has grown short.

((Let's set a time and do it!
How about Friday 24th, 8pm GMT?
or which time is better for you?

*52 makes a delivery to Vierrae, the ornate silver box decorated with spiderwebs and spider fangs would contain a silk bag of dry tea leaves smelling of orchids and a vial of thick amber liquid. There is no note however there is no doubt that the wise Yathrin would know whom the gift was from.*

Early in the cycle the Ul'faeruk can be seen emplacing several wards on the exterior of the temple and the doors. Then with several slaves in tow, a small tent is put up nearby, into which the slaves carry a mirror, a chair, several bags, and a full chamber pot from the temple privy.

With a final sigh As'drubal gently pushed the heavy stone door behind him closed, fighting his primal urge to tear it open again and play his torturous games with the ravaged dirthiir once more. With a low thump it closed, followed by a new found silence, sealing in the screams and sobs of what lies on the other side. Pangs of withdrawal already filled the Olath'draada's heart as he slowly stepped away to a table, various accouterments of his laid out upon in.

"It wasn't a difficult task..." the jaluk thought as he lifted a neatly folded towel off the table and began whipping from his face the grime that this task always entailed. "In fact once I learned her fairly impressive limits, it became quite enjoyable." he smiled as he lifted the towel from his face, seeing the red stains upon it and mentally thanking his Ilharess for the liberties she encouraged him to take with the captive. He then began drying off the rest of his body. It felt good against his flesh, wiping away the now cold sweat from his slick torso, having only worn loose fitting trousers for his arduous assignment.

To avoid the growing chill in the room As'drubal quickly set to putting his spider guard uniform back on, its newness still evident by the crisp folds and clean lines of something worn only a few times. The uniform felt natural to him, despite its vivid spider iconography, or perhaps because of it. As'drubal always had a deep connection with the jalils, he enjoyed playing their games as much as they allowed him, and felt only with a jabbress at his side was he truly complete, that they empowered him to be more than the wicked unworthy servant he was born to be.

"How versatile a tool the whip." He thought as he sat in a chair neatly placed in front of the only door to the Temple dungeons "For so many years children, errant jalils, and jaluks all alike learn to hate it, to spite it, to damn the very thing that shapes us. Yet that is exactly what it does, it molds us, like a sculptor's chisel. It strikes us in our very being, Our Valsharess demanding her females take the rough hewn stone of the dark elves and turn them into true drow. The divine wisdom! How the very thing that hurts us empowers us, that in time we learn to love the whip, for if we survive it we may hold it, and become sculptors ourselves."

With a bemused smile the tall jaluk leaned back in the spidery temple chair, the back of it now touching the door behind him, ensuring that none would enter without his knowing.

Apparently the Spider Guard have been told by the Ul'ath'tallar that the tent, Ul'faeruk and his other items are to be allowed to stay.

Nizzre'tyne is even seen stopping to speak to Krrja briefly. When she leaves and returns to the Temple she is laughing....rather wickedly.

Vierrae and other My'afin were seen walking toward the Temple. The young priestess seemed excited, making sure everything was prepared for the ceremony.

((starting within an hour, folks. for those whom are not able to participate due to ooc reasons - I know I picked awkward timing - I'll repost a sum up of the rp here so you may post as will as if your pc attended the ritual))

A few minutes before the sacrifice, the poor elven girl was allowed to 'escape' the cell. Little she knew that it was just another cruel game and her hope was stolen from her when the salvation seemed so close! Followed by the amused laughter of the drow, Earawein was dragged back to the temple, sobbing.

Then it all started. Vierrae, dressed in her ceremonial garb, approached the altar, the sacrifical dagger resting in the sheath upon her thigh. The Dark Mother, Weaver of Chaos, the Dread Queen. Your servant Yathrin Vierrae brings You gifts. With that she turned and glanced to the elf and the males. Bring her to the altar and tie her up.

Once the elf was secured, Vierrae approached the altar once more, her voice lilted again. The Dark Mother of all Drow. She slowly raised her hands upwards and brought forth the dagger. The Queen of the Spiders. Mighty Lolth!

Here on behalf of House My'afin is a darthiir priestess of their accursed Father for Your consideration.

Look at this creature, my Queen. Pathetic, fearful, abandoned by her gods. She thought the land above would be safe for her, but Your children, the My'afin, moved swiftly, unseen, bravely, and captured this prize for You.

Her skin will be a canvas for Your symbol, her screams will be a song of praise to You. Her soul will be Yours to devour.

In the darkness we wandered, aimless, and then we heard Your Voice. It filled our hearts with fire and strength. It gave us the purpose. It united us and forged us into a Scourge of all Underdark and the lands above.

In You we learnt the perfection. Your perfection and the perfection of Your children, Valsharess. We feast on those who fall into our webs. We are feared and hated and we take pride in it! We're the drow, oh Mighty Lolth, and we embrace Your Chaos, we thrive in it! We are Yours!

I will lead the My'afin in Your name, the Dread one. And those whom are foolish to disobey You, shall know my wrath. The surface and the heretics will be reminded of Your might, they will learn to fear You even more. And when I am through with them, their souls will be sent to You to feast on!

The poor elf's life ended when Vierrae offered her heart to the Spider Queen, triumphantly.

Lolth tlu Malla!

Then, the new Il'haress My'afin bowed to the altar and stepped down, joining the Ul'ath'taller as the males took care of the dead body, tossing it into a pit behind the altar.

((thanks to everyone participating!

Ul'ath'tallar Nizzre'tyne watched the proceedings with a cold stare for she and Yath'tallar Zah'lil'il were assessing the Yathrin. Any twitch of the dagger pausing, any words not reverent and praising of their Queen, any sign of treachery from the jaluk that joined her would mean that the Yath'tallars would spring on Yathrin Vierrae instantly. Like new born spiders who feasted on the weakest of the brood Zah'lil'il and Nizzre'tyne would gleefully offer her to Lolth.

The prayer was thoughtful and carefully said. The gift for the Queen was excellent and her struggles and screams filled the room with delightful music. The jaluk, well they were jaluk after all, yet it was clear their mistress had them well in hand. The new Oloth'Draada performed very well and Viktyr was eager and a very quick learner. The mage was new to Nizzre’tyne and worse was not listed on the Sorcere rosters. No doubt that error would be seen to very soon.

All in all Nizzre’tyne found herself to be….impressed. Surprisingly, wonderfully so when not very much later after hours of testing it was no longer a Yathrin she addressed but Yath’tallar Vierrae.

//Thanks to AgainShe for providing us with this wonderful event!
