On Amia B, everything is SUPER laggy for me. Unbeareably laggy. Monsters dissapear. Inventory items take ten seconds to pop up. It's been that way for over a week. Everytime I logged in.

Amia A runs perfectly smooth....

Anyone got an idea what's going on?

And i've got super high speed internet BTW.

Wiltun, and Caraigh area mostly. Mushroom Fields. Those areas with the crows. And seriously, i've got a 3.4 gig powerhorse with a great graphics card. I play in 1024 x 768 just because, higher than that, I find reading text cumbersome and it strains my eyes.

It shows even when I log onto B. The screen goes black for say 5-10 seconds before entering. Also, when choosing my character, when I click on him it also takes a few seconds for his picture to appear. The little character pic window is black before that.

When opening doors, there's an almost 10 second delay. Every spawn I fight, the screen freezes for say 10-15 seconds almost every battle and then pops out of it , and poof everything's dead.

It really is -that- bad.

But as I said, curiously, Amia A is running sexily perfect.

And it's been like that every SINGLE time i've logged onto A or B in the lasst week. I'd say at least 10 times on each.

Well, for what its worth, to maybe help troubleshoot.....*Points* HE'S running a 'powerhorse'....hehehe good on ya mate :) I'M NOT!!! ahahahaa I'm on Dial up!!!! With 3 whole gigs of ram, and a single core processor :) And B runs PERFECTLY fine for me. Sure I get lag here and there, but nothing out of the ordinary. I can also have the forums, msn..that sort of thing running in the background and tab in and out no problem.

That said, with two very different capabilities....might help decide where to look first? If not, I guess I'm just wasting space here =D

Hope ya get it fixed bud. Caraigh is a lonely place and needs more players

lol by the way my point wasn't to brag about my computer which I just bought last automn ( had one for EIGHT years before that) but to show how it -can't- be my computer speed that's the problem.

I'm still wondering why B is aweful and A is perfect. Doesn't make sense.

And Nwn 2 runs perfect too on BGTSSC.

Any computer geeks out there can help me out plz???

hahahah nonono!!! I don't mean that by anymeans. :) I'm only trying to point out that it may not be your computer or net connection, since mine SUCKS and yours ROCKS :) I know my box is crap. And I think I'm the only one in the universe running Dialup these days. hehe

I wish I was a 'computer geek' sometimes, then I could help more :)

I'm not standing in Caraigh, that might be the problem.

I would say to Caraigh, into the woods right after the cross roads and see if you have a lag problem, then after go to Amia forest and see if its the same.I belive they use the same toolset so if anything you could see if its based off that.

lol no offense taken, y'know how communication can be behind a screen without non-verbal and verbal interraction y'know....*giggles merrily, waving him off dismissively, in a teasing fashion*

*coughs*

But still. I'm mad. Neverwinter Nights 1 multiplayer is the utmost -buggiest- game i've ever played.

But hey, playing Direct X 11 games with movie-like graphics in supra-HD multiplayer...no problem there!

Playstation 1 graphic-like Nwn 1: Oooh, it's -such- a strain for my computer. *mild sarcasm*

Oh! I got a clue, Amia A had a ping of 180 for me. Amia B had -1. And that's just after reset.

Don't know much about it but -1 doesn't seem very good!

Edit: Well look at that, B went up to 102 A went up to 230.

Is 102 good?

Edit 2: Oops, B went down to -1 again, while Amia A is rather stable...

-1 means that it's above 1 second ping. I'm guessing it's something like Amia A uses port 5121 and Amia B uses 5122 and your port 5122 isn't forwarded or is being used by something else. Try opening your router settings in internet explorer (192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1) and look for an option to forward ports 5121 - 5122 to your ip address. You can find out what your ip is by opening command prompt and typing 'ipconfig'.

If you don't have a router, then I dunno' :P Everyone seems to have them these days though soo... I'm guessing that'll be the problem. If you need any help, just ask and I can elaborate :3

Ok after 30 minutes am in my router which is 192.168.2.2 , what do I do? And I think I forgot my password...

I see in "virtual server" option I can add IP adresses, is that it?

A lot of routers come with a standard password depending on their make, if you haven't changed it yourself. You can usually find them out by just Googling "[routername] [password]".

Found the password. Just don't know what i'm doing, which option to select. B is still super buggy.

So basically, B is Rpmia for me and A is Rpmia and Adventuremia

Bs areas you described also use TNO Textures. Which are just higher res NWN textures and they are compressed differently than the DDS of standard NWN. They are a special compression of TGAs which some computers GPU's hate for some reason. Typically Nvidia. I would check for Drivers, maybe not even the newest, just try to find different ones. Some of them work some don't. I have found the newest, often -don't-.

If you can go to Shadowscape on B. That uses a standard tileset. Tell me if you still lag.

For the router thing, you want to find a port forwarding option. Choose to create a new port forwarding service called Amia or whatever you want to call it. It needs these details when you set the thing up:

Start Port: 5121
End Port: 5122
IP Address: You can find by going start > programs > accessories > command prompt and typing 'ipconfig'. It should be listed as IPv4 Address. It should be 192.168.2.something.

I would recommend trying Mahtan's idea too. At the very least forwarding ports can reduce lag and updating graphics cards can optimise performance.

Checked all the options and haven't found a "post forwarding" one.

Might it be called something else?

You might find something called Port Triggering. Could you tell me what make of router you have? And in the mean time try updating your graphics card driver. Hopefully that'll be your problem and thus easier to fix.
