I was wondering. I once read that the Wizards of Thay created the Warforged (sentient humanoid constructs). With that said, are they allowed in Amia? As a playable race perhaps?

What's "allowed" is anything you can get the DMs to approve with a special request. I imagine a warforged request would have to be once-in-a-lifetime totally-knock-their-socks-off awesome, in order to get it approved, though. (That's just my suspicion.) And it would have to be some sort of massively customized scripted sort of thing, I suspect, since there's no currently-playable default race that has even close to the warforged's array of traits and abilities.

We've had animated statues and the like before. Put together a special character request and make a pitch in the Request Forums. You'll find all you need to write up a request in the correct format by looking at the stickies in the forum. Worst we DMs can do is say "No," so what do you have to lose?

I love Warforged, but they're not suitable on Amia imo.
That said, we have had construct PCs before.

Warforged are iffy. But then again so is anything that isn't the norm, make a request that causes me to punch Silent in the ear and who knows right.

Thanks for the responses! It will take me a couple to a few weeks to come up with one. I want it to be done right. I'll whip one up the -best- I can. I'll brush up on my warforged and Thay lore. Thanks again!

JoeSkinner wrote: Well I read that they are also created by the wizards of thay in FR That may be the case. Like I said, D&D settings like to steal from each other. Wikipedia wrote: As of the release of the 4th Edition Dungeons and Dragons Monster Manual in June 2008, Warforged became an official part of the core Points of Light Campaign Setting, and by extension an encouraged part of all campaign settings (such as Greyhawk, the previous core campaign setting, and The Forgotten Realms). The 4th Edition player's guide for Eberron also features a paragon path called the Self-Forged, which is for creatures that strive to make themselves like Warforged by replacing parts of their bodies with magical metal prosthetics, becoming fantasy-themed cyborgs.
There's also quite a few Ravenloft monsters that were originally specific to the Demiplane of Dread but have popped up elsewhere.

There are actual portals from Greyhawk to FR, and Krynn, and Eberron, so the chances are there for things to mix up.

I realize that this may be unacceptable to some people. It IS known to be from Eberron and it has a certain 'steampunk' aspect. I completely understand that people may find this out of place in a Forgotten Realm setting considering it is more of a standard fantasy setting and not so much a steampunk/artificer one.
I do NOT wish to take away anything as far as RP experience from anyone. If there is ANY doubt or ANYone offended by this, please, let me know and I will erase my ambitions for a warforged character.
Of all the servers that i've played, I always have no more than 3 characters. I already have 2. My 3 is always a unique character set apart from the others. That being said, there are many possible unique races that i'm sure I can choose from, DM willing. Perhaps a Jujuzombie or something more standard FR.
note: and I am in no way offended if people find this upsetting. Just let me know your thoughts.

Don't bother having a character come from Eberron. Quote: There are actual portals from Greyhawk to FR, and Krynn, and Eberron, so the chances are there for things to mix up. Not in our canon. A unique race doesn't make a unique charcter, and the more "unique" you get, the more like we are to just say no.

I didn't mean to say that like I wanted to take something from Eberron. Because that is definately far fetched. I meant that I UNDERSTAND frusterations that could arise as a result from playing a warforged because that is where most people have learned of their existance. And as far as uniqueness goes. I completely agree with you. I do not tend to go 'over the top' to a point where I cannot handle my character anymore. I want to take this very slowly. Very.. slowly
