Almost hourly Khem is struck with the groundshakes of varying degree's of potency. Cracked plaster and mud brick seem the only damage sustained thus far. The people of Djedet pass around rumours the most common of which comes to the forefront is the "Red Hand" Prophecy of the Spirit of Hashet, and the realisation that the Old Bear myth carried by the traditional Khalil and taught by the townsfolk to their children is in fact no Myth.
Various reports from caravanners and others speak of a Horde of Minotaur fleeing the bowels of the Earth and throwing themselves unthinkingly on the swords of Adventurers and Caravanner guards alike. Though most of the Minotaur remain behind to shore up their labrynthian home, the very real fear they possess is passed on to those who combat them.
Over time the tremors and the movements of the Minotaur dry up all trade through Hasrabet and into Nes'ek, the passes becoming impassable due to the large amount of deadly rock fall.

Aoth seems a bit surprised at the sudden quakes. hearing the rumors of this 'red hand prophecy' he makes his way to the complex library to see if there is any recorded history of this and the apparent events to come.

The Sekhry is seen about more often, taking extra posts of guard duty himself and lifting the spirits of the guards bringing them food from his own table and speaking to them during their shifts.

a note would be left in the township complex Quote: A child was found last eve by the name of Hashet... he spoke in riddles and didn't seem to realize that anyone but him was there... he spoke of the doom the godkings... a redhand in the sand.. never the water... and of an old bear who would come to those in need.
The guard Gyasi took notice of this and came over... he was rather unsettled by it all and said that many have come down with sun sickness and all said the same thing.. after trying to communicate with the boy to no avail I attempted to heal him and that was when the tremors started. Taylne spoke that the tremors came from something moving underground and at that point the boy collapsed. The guard wished the child gone from the settlement and the ill omens he spoke of... I refused to leave a child to die so took him under my care.
We learned from the guard that the "old bear" is some kind of myth told to children of the deserts by mothers... he is some kind of spirit and protector. I secured the child in the complex and then Taylne suddenly realizing something or feeling something moved off and me and Kala followed... in the dry riverbed we found the "old bear" who spoke of his counter part the "old jackal" whos time was approaching and it would mean doom for us all... the child was found by the "old bear" dead in the desert then returned to life to bring us the warning and with his task complete he returned to the eternal life. It seems the two oppose each other but there are rules to how they can act and help us... the bear was cryptic with his message and spoke only of the danger.. the red hand being the danger to come.
I would suggest we try to keep this to ourselves as the locals seem very fearful of this.. as desert folk usually are. I asked the guard to speak to the Elder Council and arrange a meeting between them and us because they may well know more about this then we, and its about time we met them formally anyway. If you have any more questions please speak to me I will be in the complex.
Asiya Daughter of Fudail son of Hazim of Al-Izdihar... priestess to the lady of rivers and Vizier to the sepat of Djedet.

Kala seems not to mind minotaur "invasion", she can be seen to run into their ranks , roaring and screaming terrifying battle cries that make them scattering around in fear. She doesn't even bother hunting them all down, she seems content to break their ranks and stem their assaults as good as she can. When she eventually tires she retreats and portals to Djedet for some rest.

*The Imakhu would join Aoth within the complex reading up all the lore possible regarding the events, questions more prominently on his mind are what could be moving underground? And worse... What is this the old jackal?*
I am curious as to what has the Minotaurs so terrified, is it just the quakes or might they have seen something? Is it possible to reach the labrynth and investigate?
Imakhu Imhotep
Also, if one hears or sees a suspicious looking jackal, be prepared to defend yourself or run, I would advise the latter

Talyne for her role wanders farther afield, sticking to her usual routine of producing food along the river and gathering fruit at the oasis. However, she no longer goes as herself, using her shapeshifting abilities to appear as the more common, native people. As she works, she listens to the words of the people regarding the event, and should she happen to notice a local elder, approaches them with a respectful offering of fresh fruit and water, asking gently after any great catastrophes in living memory.

Two of the Elder Khalil describe to Talyne the running of the death water, were the Alambar Sea rushed inland eleven years ago and destroyed much of Khem's infrastructure as the water raged up the Khalem.

after the "accident" of the rocks falling Asiya would move away from the group after double checking on the survivors... being true to her own warnings to the others she doesn't do what she would normally do.. go off into the desert alone... instead she moves just outside the gate and sits by the river and watches as the sun sets... if any were to join her she would just nod slightly and mutter something about the three they couldnt save.

The tremors continue to roll through Khem. In Nes'ek minor damage has been done to the Cathedral of the Martyr Saint from the episodes.

The Sekhry always takes Fu'Murik out for training shortly after the rumblings, trying to keep his mind off of things.
Furthermore he is seen speaking to the guards to have an ear out from the people to listen to what they are saying.
He is also seen reading less strategy tomes and manuals depicting war and the like and is seen diving into all the religious text he can, staying up much later than his wife would prefer.

The Sekhry issues a string of orders.
Talyne is to bring the package to Imhotep.
Gahiji and Mule are to guard whomever holds the package. 12 hours shifts. 1 on and 1 off.
Aoth, Akirish, Himself, Talyne, Asiya are all to be reading in the library voraciously or taking turns making patrols of Anara, the Lost Rift, and the Khalem. They are to be looking for odd prints in the sand or sensing out anything unnusual.

Aoth returns days after being away, a few oddities in his behaviour but he remains mostly the same, he would tell the Sekhry he has more important business to attend to, such as that of finding the Lord Arbitrator with a Discern Location spell. He humbly requests an object belonging to the Arbitrator be given to him so that he may 'attempt' the spell..

Talyne leaves the morbid parcel with Imhotep along with a brief note, and then goes and takes a long nap under the fig tree. Quote: Our friend and Arbitrator Tauronmehet has come to be in the possession of the dark forces arrayed against us. My attempts to divine his location have so far met no success, though it is known he is not on this plane. It is our desire to downplay the danger present, thus he is said to be indisposed for business. I apologize for the gristly nature of this delivery, but it seems fitting that House Osirant safeguards it's contents.
With sad blessings, ~Talyne

The Sekhry and his wife disembarks with whomever would follow in full wards and enchantments toward Hasrabet and then the region inhabited my Minotaurs to investigate and see what is happening there.

Within the township compound, Ulrik might be seen in a quiet corner, a small crystal ball held in hand before him. He speaks the words of a Greater Scrying spell, and any about would be able to see that which the magician was viewing: an unrecognizable island, with vents in the ground, shooting out steam. The image is studied for a time, before it is dismissed with a wave of his hand. A moment later, a parchment is left in the compound, a report - in common - for any who frequent the building. However, another seems to be left specifically for the Sekhry, addressed to him. Both read as follows: ~ I have cast a greater scrying spell over what was once colloquially called the tropical island. Specifically, the isle of the shipwreck and where the red box was recovered, and where the cataclysmic events of the last days seemed to originate.
The island still exists, but it is drastically reformed. There are vents of steam and lava flows that touch the sea, still. An expedition ought be able to mounted to investigate, should such be decided, and ley-line travel via portal wands should still be possible as the flow of the ley was wholly unaffected by the natural cataclysm.

I agree. Let us organize this at once. -Mahir

Rumours begin to flow into the townships of battles raging in the deep desert. It is said that warriors veiled in the sand fell upon a large host of Jackal-men and that the battle has devolved into a series of merciless skirmishes.

A rumour quickly spreads that the Woman Atok was slain in the township complex right in front of Mulhorandi by a Beast of disgusting proportions. Something occured after her death and the Mulhorandi Nefertari and Imhotep were a part of it. It was also witnessed by Aoth.
The rumour also suggest one theme:
"The ten are named, the chosen are complete"

Upon hearing rumor of Atok's death, Zelly is frantic at first. Tears of frustration and fear well in her eyes as she simply drops to her knees in the sands wherever she's standing and begins to pray...

The passing rumor seems to unsettle the Mystran magician who is coming to frequent Djedet even more often. Though setting upon confirming the rumor, he does not seem to doubt it.
"The chosen are complete. What could this mean?"

the Scrivener would report to Sekhry that Imhotep and Nefertari are now chosen by Ma'at, and the following; Aoth wrote: The one called Atok had been slain by a large hideous creature wielding a two handed sword. I noticed a flicker of light from behind her as we talked within the complex which just as quickly turned into a portal of which conjured forth the beast, (Note, there was no conjurer present to my knowledge, meaning the complex may be infiltrated by our enemy in the future. I shall ward the complex and any indoors location within Djedet as soon as possible!) he beast had entered and ran it's blade through Atok, barely missing her heart and in turn missing her shard. We tried to slay the beast but it had disappeared. A glowing orb, at it's center the shard had rised from her body and needed to take a new host. However, as Freewoman Nefertari and Lord Imhotep could not decide between one another, another shard appeared and blessed them both with the feather of Ma'at.

Mahir takes this knowledge and thinks. He ponders why he and jud were the ones chosen to share the same part of Ma'at and no others. What made them unique. What made them special it worse than the others. He then begins his daily training regimen noticing these things.

Silence reigns over the deserts of Khem since the successful removal of the island portal. The monstrous hordes of Were-Jackal and other fiedns seem to have for the moment been quelled. The former Arbitrator lays restrained to a bed within the township complex though he stares unseeing at the cieling of the partition in which he is held.
