Some hours after the rumors would have spread, Ulrik sits in the dark quiet of his study at the Mystran Monolith, a hot mug of tea steaming before him, and the scent of a single candle burning. By dim illumination, there is the steady incantation of a spell. A very simple evocation of Sending...

A small earthquake happened near the Green Lake today. Some said a great black beast was sighted in the vicinity, destroying anything that happened to be in its path.

Jud'vardas was dead.
Nevaeh was dead.
Those elves were dead.
All that remained were Willow and Lyle against the massive beast from beneath. No lasting effect of their sound beating earlier persisted. Just more lust for death in those empty red eyes; eyes aimed at Willow. She was just barely out of its claw's reach as they both tried to flee. There was no other choice. Lyle charged into the beast, catching the creature with his blessed hatchet, apparently doing enough to draw the monster's fury upon himself. He could hear Willow calling over the attack, but the words were lost. The priest ducked into his normal defensive stance and shouted from the bottom of his lungs while staring into the maw of oblivion.
"Run!" He cried over the din of the beast's great claws clashing off his shield. The pair were sharing blows now, a gentle golden glow outlining Lyle's body. "I'll hold it off to my-" A claw crushed through his shield, warping it around his arm. "Dying-"
Then it went black.

Aly looked up at the beast, dread seizing her heart. All she could do was run in, knowing she was doomed. She tripped under the beast, horror dawning as she saw Jud laying motionless.
It killed him...it killed Jud...What on Toril can I do?! Eilistraee, help us!
all in her head. But she stabbed, darting under its legs, guarding the fallen Seneschal as best her meager skill allowed, until...
It stepped on her.
It all got kind of hazy from there...she woke over Jud's shoulder some time later...

*Malandria travels through the Greenlake on her regular patrol, after speaking with the elf Mith. As she discussed with him, she has a close look at the soil and the water, also taking a few samples.
She analyzes both for the heavyness of pollution from the metal and weather it can still be cleansed or weather the soil is beyond help and would require replacement.
She also took some deeper samples to check if the pollution has already sunken down deep into the soil by the rain and might even reach the ground water soon*
//DM answer on the results would be very much appreciated. Please pm me for more details if you wish.

Amazing.
Sir Vale's gloved hands glided across his ruined armor as he listened to the two dwarfs, the old one which had been trying to ride the creature, banter about the encounter. His body still felt the pains that had come from his unfortunate trampling once the thing had gone berserk...the feeling of being hit by a charging bull, the feeling of his armor pressing uncomfortably now against his body in a multitude of places due to being crushed. The cold wind blew against his flesh, past the tattered robes and massive gash one of it's claws had rent upon his plate.
So this is what it feels like to truly be outclassed.
The chill he felt came not from the gloomy weather, but from the realization that he had something to look forward to after all the years of living in the darkness. The memory of his devilish companion and the other fellow's slaad being unable to impede the creature for much longer than a few moments as it claimed life after life left him a bit uneasy about the whole situation, but he shrugged it off as the other dwarf began to speak of beating up dogs belonging to mages.
As people finished passing by his invisible form upon the bridge, he sighed and began to move, briefly wondering where Bruce and Eze were. They would've enjoyed this.

*looking at black and blue flesh in hot water as she reviewed what had happened. They had started the day with a simple trip to visit the shrines of Oberon and Titania. Just a simple thing. A visit and a tribute not even that close to the waters of the Green Lake. And then a looming shadow..
The beast of darkness. The blackening of the sky and the terror as the three had fled. She could still hear Bubbles and Lens screaming to one another to run.
And run they had, right into Tera just as terrified and babbling about Banites in the forest. She scratched at her head as she still could not fathom why the creature, which had been heading to the lake,, instead followed them as they went to Amia forest.*
So much destruction! But it seemed to fear the water and ice that hit it. What was it though? Lens had tried to call to it but it had not responded like any animal she'd ever known and when .hit.. Had it been metal? Stone? Something else? It had fought a great many of the defenders in the forest before fleeing by digging into the earth.
Maybe the next encounter with it will yield another weakness.

In a dark office the morning after the latest romp of the Green lake construct, a mustached mage sat alone, but for the stirring of a young pseudo-dragon. A closed chest sat before him, on the desk, upon which his hand rested. Hanging up on the wall was a torn and bloody cloak. The bandages on his back were recently changed.
Slowly, he stood. He did not hide the wince, there was no one to hide it from in here.
"Ten, plus one."
And after a few moments, the office of the Headmaster was empty.

Bubbles stayed at the Hin Inn that night with Lens; she kept checking on him during the short amount of time he slept to make sure he really had healed up after the creature had slammed him into a tree, nearly killing him. Thankfully, he knew enough of the healing arts to cast on himself, but she was watching anyway.
It hard started out such a blissful, simple day. She was happy she'd managed to give the necromancer, Nathano, a hug without noticing any ill effects upon herself, and happier still that Eldainia had shown her where the Shrines were--both for the Unseelie Queen and for Oberon and Titania.
She felt silly that she didn't know, but she wore out the same paths quite frequently, and didn't explore as much as many of her kind. Perhaps the dryad influence in her blood kept her more to the same places.
Happily though, she said a prayer to Titania, and she felt the warmth of that experience. It was cut short, however, when the enormous creature appeared. It had scared her, and something more-- she feared its energy as well; it was such a different creature than she had experienced before.
Thankfully, (and thanks to some old dwarf who had somehow managed to distract it)they had managed to escape it alive, if not unscathed (poor Lens). And now, as she rested and kept a watchful eye on her sweetheart, she wondered what the others would do and learn about it, and if she would help them further. Perhaps for the sake of her Queen Titania, whose Shrine was right by the lake. Perhaps.

Strange disappearances begin to be a common occurrence near the Green Lake area... Where these people go, is anyone's guess.
Those entering the area to investigate begin to develop a feeling of instant dread and hopelessness...

Nysor walks along his usual path in the forest, eager to learn more about the strange dissapearances. Curious, he also look to the ruins north of the drained lakes to see if there is any activity. Though always up for a walk, on this particular day he is wary to continue about in the area, submitting to an early exit after a small, and rather worthless, search.

Two pieces of parchment are left, one, at the South entrance to the Ruin just North of the Greenlake and, the other, near the North entrance just East of the old Hidden Glades. It is left there by a small Hin forester.
! Warning !
For your own safety, sanity and life, stay out of the ruins and keep as far away from it as possible!

Taelar is seen stomping back and forth through the area time and again, offering escorts to those he encounters if they wish it, otherwise just making sure all is well and stable. He seems a bit twitchy now and then, but shows no other signs anything is bothering him.

another earthquake shook the forest today, and those that we're there we're enveloped in darkness, a strange creature dripping with water appeared, then to those without superior vision at least, disappeared again into its own shadow...
three already lay dead before this occured, and a few more as the shade drifted westward. the agile, witty and strong seam to have survived the ordeal, null however ponders how -that- could possibly be a construct...
"underground...or on another plane...most intreguing indeed..."
perhaps it is something to do with the ley lines the mage mentioned, perhaps it was lies and that was his goal to begin with, or perhaps it is something else entirely.
still unsure what happened when the beams of light appeared and the shade vanished, null looks to tarkuuls library for deeper answers.

Word spreads that the ruins north of the (former) Green Lake has sprouted a large glowing obelisk. Those in nearby cities can see the shaft of light emanating out of the top of it. Any attempt to destroy or harm it in any way is met with an overwhelming urge -not- to.

In the days since the events surrounding the Green Lake, it has enjoyed a rejuvenation. Plant life is abound, and the local wildlife seems to have returned to normal.
Wandering travelers will be surprised to see a pale rainbow over the emerald colored lake. Some elven citizens from Winya Ravana even venture out to observe the beautiful phenomenon.

As the emerald rainbow appears, Ilias can be seen setting out small camps around the Green Lake more often now, usually just laying down and being lazy or taking a naked swim in the lake.

After hearing rumors about the events at green lake via travelers at Bendir Dale, Sephiron would be seen around green lake observing and taking various notes on such a phenomena around the lake, studying all details he can about the surrounding area, and writing in his small booklet he usually carries around.

During specific parts of the day, (//9am, 3pm in-game time) the lake shimmers with a green aura. The effect will often last for several minutes before fading away.

Upon seeing this, Sephiron would write a few notes on it: Quote: ...At mid-morning or Mid-Afternoon, A green glow comes from the lake. From what is very hard to determine. Anything short of diving in the lake, there is no way for me to observe whether this is done by Arcane or Divine means or if it is just a natural phenomena. I must continue to research this. He would shut his booklet and continue on his way.

Crow would venture out in the rowboat, with his 'Gills' ring on, as he has been patrolling in that area, and spending some off time there. He would take a water sample, during the aura's effect, and give it to Malandria.

Having been thoroughly unwelcomed by the elven investigators during the altercations, Myra has since spent a small portion of her leisure time helping wayward travelers and cravaniers in the form of evil portents, dire predictions, and the selling of expensive charms and amulets to ward them off. She has also ceased claiming to be the source of these mysterious lights, under the conclusion that any atrocities to befall island would soon-after be attributed to her by the common rabble of society.

it seems to the keen eye that there has been a gathering of late at the green lake... signs of a camp now and then as well as fresh footprints.
