He attacked me once outside the gates here in the Dale too. He is another one that comes through that painting a lot.

Outside the gates and next to the guards and the law sign, so that anyone coming through can adjust to the laws, anyone banned can be denied entry, and no one can simply get a free back-door pass into the Dale.

The issue most directly stems from us being unable to trust them to even keep those deemed too large a threat to even allow on our lands from using it. Moving it beyond the gates will do little to stem such a threat and may simply cause more undesirables to loiter on the main road.

If those of the Triumvir lack the funds or abilities, perhaps they should put on another major play where a portion of the show's donations go towards procurement of armed Golems capable of doing the things they believe will bring themselves harm. I would think people so closely tied to one of the greatest troves of information on things both magical and mundane may have considered this idea already, hence I didn't bring it up sooner. Bards are by no means idiots and I have no doubt they can turn their talents towards such creative and productive ends much better than my own conjectures.

Otherwise, until they can make a joint decision to police their own portal and make a decided effort to work with those that are on the side of law where their portals exit to keep law breakers out, I stand firmly by Mayor Lyle's decision to see it moved off of our lands or simply walled off and away from our children for the foreseeable future.

Sadly however, this is not the only reason for this letter.

I have heard reports of increased slaver activity in the direction of the Grove and the forest. This included the animation of corpses that attacked the Dale proper. The militia did well this time and the defenders were able to turn back the attack.

I spoke with Sir Jerand about this disturbing turn of events along with Lady Pale in Kohl, more to keep them apprised of the situation then anything else. They have offered to increase their personal patrols around the area of the Dale and to let the leadership of the Knights know of this new development, fearing Necromancers becoming even more prevalent within the ranks of the Slavers.

I did a personal patrol of the areas to the north of the Dale and found little save a couple, Kaci and Jace by called names, speaking of a 'Spider Elf' that claimed to have been attacked by a Demon. Jace had celestial wings. A lady that identified herself as Catlin if I heard correctly came up and chatted with them also at the crossroads.

I observed a person, male I believe, with a black hood and black priest robes with red belt and trimmings, watching them from deep within the forest. He was attempting to hide behind the trees. I could not make out his features and he never spoke save a few activation words once he used his portal wand. I am not sure where he went to but, his actions within the wood seemed suspicious and he may have been a Slaver spy. I can not confirm this.

If I can be of further assistance, please let me know. I will continue my occasional patrols of the area and my normal observations. Captain Lyam, when you are available once again, I believe I owe you a tankard of ale and to finish our last talk.

They do seem so. It is even more disturbing this fellow was stalking them, watching them and then portalled away then.

I will try to keep a better watch for him again around the dale.

General, Captains and Mayor,

Today the fella known as Asmodai came around with an Elf lass. She pretended to have killed him so we went to get her to leave. She refused and he woke up. He was pretending and going along with her.

She said she was going to come back and do something up North where there's no gate, so I we went to warn the fellas up there. Sure enough, they were there and the girl attacked one of us. She was taken down quick. Asmodai didn't want to leave and wanted to take the girl so we took him down too.

Took them both near the Orc lands and brought them back, setting them free with a warning never to come back.

Here are descriptions:

Asmodai: Dark blue and black cloths, chain chest plate, black hood, silvery blue skin, tattoos on top of scars, bald and sky blue eyes.

Female elf: Dark blue hair, elf face, black and blue tattoos on her legs, black and white boots, black cloak with white sparkles/stars with blue trim.

A letter is left in the Town Hall with Cindle for each copies to be delivered to Lyle, Nina, Pilineth, and Lyam. It is also written in hin.

Dear Mayors and the Captains,

Loiterers has been getting out of hand as of late and number of attacks to the Dale has been increasing.

Asmodai in particular frequently loiters outside of our Gates and has not been gracious towards the Dale since we pulled him off from the kill on sight list. Loitering include conducting trade within Dale grounds on the hills, standing endlessly in front of the gates, and making crass remarks outside of Breazy's house when she sometimes has guests over. I have told the younger hins to leave him be for the time being, but I am afraid with a lunatic such as Asmodai, it is only matter of time before he cause trouble again.

Izzy has been assaulting us often as well. She has already sent two reanimated corpses through our gates to attack us, though we manage to fend her off. Every time she uses the same tactic of using the Banshee spell close to our walls in attempt to lure us out. While we do not often fall to her traps, often times a hardy and reckless visitors end up pursuing her, getting themselves killed or worse. Izzy has so far attacked our visitors as well as loiterers, which is precisely why we ask visitors not to loiter in the first place.

Goblin Godo has been spotted numerous times as well. It is our belief that he is working with Izzy and the other drows to continue his hand in the slave trade. Godo has also threatened to rape one of our newer residents.

Other loiterers include the supposed silk trader that Miss Malandria has warned us about for attacking her druids in the forest. His name is Theros and he has openly admitted to murder in front of Jayek, Serena, and I.

Well seeing as this Asmodai prick's been coming up far too much, my advice is blast the bastard with a whatever until he implodes, or sods off.

In other words, sticking him back on the Kill on sight list.

Dear Lyle,

This man has recently come inside the Dale boasting about his murderous conquests in the Amia forest. He has slain two druids of the Grove, Ilias and Koirra, as well as Miss Silgara, who has been a long time friend to us.

Authorities in Winya are being alerted for his unwarranted hostility toward Miss Silgara as an assault against the People. He has attacked Miss Silgara without provocation with "Horrid Wilting" spell and "Hellball" spell, both of which have brought devastating effects on the forest. While he claims self-defense, Miss Zelly was there to see the events and she too believes such spells were unwarranted.

Let it also be known he deals and summons Baatezu, despite his claims that he is a peaceful man.

Captains and Mayor,

Earlier today a helmeted drow (I assume he was drow, no one else uses the word "dos") arrived at the gates with what he claimed to be a dead Llothite who attacked him on Bendir soil. He refused to take the body and claimed it was our problem because the attack happened on our lands. The dead drow was female, and clad in silver and blue armor. The breastplate was the revealing open-top variety like you would see in a dress, with three belts around the waist. The legs were chain mail, knee high boots and elbow-length gauntlets. Two dark colored snakelike bands around her biceps, and a silver choker around her neck. Her face didn't bear any distinctive markings, but she did have notable symbols of lloth.

However, something was not right about the scene. The drow male claimed he killed her on Bendir lands, but I never heard any fighting. In addition to this, the woman had no mud of any description on her boots, despite the heavy rain only hours before. Instead they were coated with cave dust typical of underdark locations. I suspected a slaver ploy, but the woman was actually dead. Before I could investigate further, an oafish knightly type in gold armor with a red cloak decided to do his good deed for the day and hauled her off to the skull crags. I assume he buried her there.

The man who dropped her at the gate was wearing dark colors and nondescript armor which appeared to be fairly light, and a black helmet with the winglike bits projecting from the sides. I suspect he killed her in the underdark somewhere, but for what reason and why he brought her here to Bendir I couldn't tell you.

Dear Citizens of the Dale,

For a long time, Bendir Dale has enjoyed a strong friendship with our neighbors but recent events have left bitter tastes in all of our mouths; visitors and residents alike.

While the troubles we face seems endless, isolation is not the solution. We are and will continue to have visitors from all walks of life and needless hostilities to our guests must stop. As long as visitors are obeying our laws, there is little to no need for open hostility. Violence must be the ultimate last resort, rather than the first.

Not all visitors are our enemies. We only hurt ourselves when we turn genuine friends away, rather than strengthening the Dale. From this day forward, we, as member of the Bendir community, will be taking a stance against hostility, prejudice, and intolerance.

Let us join hands with our friends once more for the bright future of our burrows.

Since I know not Bendir players lurk every thread of the forum, here is the recent update!

After lots of input from Bendir players and DMs alike, we now have a Gate installed as of Update 4.04. It was Dayfer's idea to originally script Jayek to stop the rampant metagaming we have in Bendir, but after much debate, it eventually came down to a racialized gate that other towns have.

As of the most recent update, our law boards are up-to-date as well, including changes such as loitering, attitude toward visitors and guests, new rules on drows, and helmet law revision.

We should probably address this development ICly, as well as OOCly in terms of how we are going to handle this for the time being.

What to do about allowed drows/goblins with this new gate?

IC: As of right now, this gate is activated by Cordorian Signet Ring, which is neither something Shrine nor Bendir uses anymore. So we need to come up with our own gate item for drows and goblins who are allowed (We do actually have an "allowed goblin" list. Not just drow).

OOC: What to do for allowed drows/goblins in the mean time? Should we just let them in? Can they just come through the north/Triumvir for the time being?

Those are two things I immediately thought of, but like I said, we need to address this both IC and OOC at the moment while the northern entrance is wide open.

Inputs everyone? If scheduling Town Hall meeting would be too difficult, maybe we can do that "Vote" thing like we did here so anyone can chime in at their own leisure.

I'd be okay with scheduling a town meeting, but it would have to be sunday.
