Hello there. Well, I presume Kelemvor would grant divine powers to his paladins. But since the main alignment would be LN, paladins of Kelemvor must to be good in order to be blessed with it, right ? Paladins can't be neutrals. Correct me if I'm wrong, please, but being a paladin of Kelemvor (aka good if there are no neutral paladins) would represent a zealous warrior ?
And finally, how to actually RP a LG paladin of Kelemvor ? I would appreciate inputs so I could improve my current opinion about it.

Okay an really good friend of mine years ago played a paladin of Kelemvor. It is key to remember to uphold your paladin codes and also uphold the tennents of Kelemvor as well. Kelemvor himself gives spells to paladins and blackguards being LN. The key point to remember when playing a paladin of any faith is to uphold their deities dogma and be righteous in their own lives as well. I may be wrong on it being that I do not play paladins, but I do know enough to point in the right direction. Have fun playing your paladin of Kelemvor

LG is one of the accepted Kelemvor Cleric alignments (which isnt exactly a Paladin, but it lies within his "domain") so to speak. Part of his dogma mentions helping people cross over from the world only when their right time has come and to actively speak out against those who would try and prolong their life beyond their natural scope. Both of these suggest that an LG paladin of Kelemvor would actively protect people form the undead (by all means an LG thing) as well as protect those who need it from unnatural threats.
As far as the "their time has come" part of the faith, nor what constitutes a "natural" death, in some cases it might be difficult to make that out, but not impossible. An LG paladin would try and bring them comfort, say try and fulfill they wishes of a man dying from old age, assist the next of kin any way he could, etc. Again, typically (imho of course) "good" actions, Lawful isn't even a factor here. On the other hand people dying as the effect of plots by outside forces - demons, devils, etc. typically are not "natural" deaths, but it might depend on the person looking, in this case it should be determined by a DM ruling or sth. Or left purposely undecided and up to resolve in the paladin's morality.
And, in more "mundane" terms, I would imagine LG paladins serving as protectors of churches and the clergy. The list of possibilities go on, but I personally do not see a conflict between Kelemvor's "neutrality" as far as death is concerned and a LG Paladin protecting the innocent, fighting undead, etc.

Also, don't forget always to give your enemies a proper burial (or a proper BURNial), regardless of their faith, race or class. I am pretty sure that those who "toss the people down the cliff in the abyss" make a pretty lame kelemvorite, and if previously given divine powers from him, may lose them for such behavior, especially if they are the ones who took a part in ones death. "Enemies in life, friends in death."

If any Kelemvorite is not giving proper burials, then they are not Kelemvorites. Disrespect to the dead is disrespect to Kelemvor himself. Anyone doing such should be fallen.

Hmm... I thank you all for your inputs ! I also think it would create some conflict between the higher ranks of the Eternal Order, assuming they would only follow Kelemvor's dogma in a LN manner (and also assuming the higher rank is LN). But let's add the Aasimar spice on a LG paladin of Kelemvor. That wouldn't make him to not only fight undeads but to also watch out for thieflings, devils and demons ? Probably a LG paladin would be doing that already too, but doing the story between Aasimars and Thieflings (and I believe I saw it somewhere out there), that wouldn't increase their range ? Or essentially, there isn't much difference between a human paladin and an aasimar paladin regarding the behavior in situations like this ? As for the last, I've noticed the following on Subraces description ( Subraces): "Most aasimar on Faerûn trace their bloodlines to the incarnations of Mulhorandi deities and their noble offspring. Through marriage, the blood of Mulhorandi deities spread far and wide. It's common for these aasimar to serve the deity they descend from, and to feel affection for the type of animal that symbolizes their deific ancestor. There are more aasimar in Mulhorand, Unther and Chessenta than anywhere else on Toril, as aasimar with different descent are relatively random cases with no common origin."That would make an Aasimar paladin of Kelemvor a rare event ? Shouldn't it be included on the character request list ?

While Tieflings are generally mistrusted due to the natures of their demonic/devilish ancestors, the statement that all Aasimar would hate/mistrust all Tieflings seems to general to me. Aasimar are not half-bloods, the celestial heritage is relatively diluted in them, just like it is in Tieflings. I can perfectly see an LG Aasimar paladin, no matter which faith, having an open, good natured approach to Tieflings, trying to work out their distrust and befriend them if he sees the potential of good in them. While this is not really the dogma of Kelemvor, it does not mean (again, in my opinion) that an Aasimar LG Paladin couldn't try and help Tieflings find balance and peace in their lives. Being a Paladin does not completely override your will and convictions, in fact the odds between personal convictions and the neutrality of death are very much reminiscent of the trouble Kelemvor had when he first ascended to Godhood. I'd personally see this as a very interesting parable, a Paladin "struggling" with his own humanity and trying to strike a balance between Kelemvor's dogma and his own convictions. Use personal conflicts as hooks for RP for you and those around you. RPing a Paladin that has doubts, seeks to understand himself and the world around himself and his role in it is a way more interesting concept to me then RPing him as "cyborg", but thats just personal preference alamut wrote: "Most aasimar on Faerûn trace their bloodlines to the incarnations of Mulhorandi deities and their noble offspring. Again, Aasimar are a very broad subrace. It generally means that somewhere down your ancestry there is a celestial. The subrace description just states that Mullhonrandi and the regions close to it have the highest concentration of Aasimar. In the real world, Asia has the highest concentration of Asian people, while Africa tends to be high on the dark skinned people. This does not mean that either race does not show up, even commonly, everywhere else in the world. I'd personally treat the statement the same way in this case - there is a high concentration of Aasimar in Mulhorand, but they pop up anywhere and come form all sorts of families, walks of life, etc.

Doing your deity's bidding comes first and foremost for all paladins. Kelemvor promotes impartiality and fair judgment, so your paladin should act in accordance to that in his goal for good. Just don't forget the use of common sense; even if it was said that all blasphemers must die, you wouldn't go on a killing spree in the middle of Cordor.
And for the record, the Eternal Order in its original context is mainly a paladin order.

Also, Gagis is a LG Paladin Celestial. Wouldn't be much Conflict to be honest. Templars = Paladins/Militant Clerics Inquisitors = Not Paladins. Although the Inquisition doesn't tell you what they're up to to avoid such conflict.

Maybe I'll try one more time to find something interesting in it. Maybe.
Anyway, if there can be a paladin to all these hippies and all that trash folk, why not Kelemvor? Paladins of Sune or Waukeen etc. that I've heard of being possible... Yeah.

Now, if a necromancer keeps coming up to you and saying in Cordor to you that they are raising the dead then....be patient and the day the don't notice you, go invisible and wait till they are out of town and summoning undead and then slaughter their butts!

Shame the other EO's didn't figure that out, and raged in Cordor. Now we're banned! But it's not like we're missing out on anything. All of my main characters are banned from Cordor.

I feel the need to bump up this topic because of its relevance and also to help others to understand my paladin's actions.
