Was reading the Hak bugs in improving Amia and saw the post, by Selmak, about the new familiars not being ready yet.

My question pertains to this, as i have a cleric character that is ready to lvl and only taking the one Mage lvl to gain the "Phase Spider" familiar for RP reasons. Unfortunatly i have to take the mage lvl now and not on the last two lvls i have left as it would mess the build up.

Do i have to hold lvl'ing the Character and wait, or can i take the lvl, pick Phase spider and the familiar be useable/ appear when it is ready because i am not reliant on actually having it now?

Yes, you can pick a familiar that doesn't appear right now, if you really want to.
