An influx of spiders has left its mark in Edonil. Its exact meaning is up to interpretation, but many of the Drow about the city are taking it as a good omen. Even the slaves find motivation to work doubly hard out of fear of becoming food to these new arachnids.

The entry door to House Tinnerai burst open and out poured Ust’Ilharess Nizzre’tyne, Ilharess Delia Vandree, another female dressed in dark armor and the Ust’Cu’ce Vistren. The smattering of conversation carried due to the excitement and raised voices in the cavern.

“Beautiful.”

“This is surely a sign of Lolth's favor.”

“In your own quellar, Malla Ust'Ilahess! Such honor!”

“….more webs!”

The voices faded as they moved into Edonil and still the excited voices carried as they paused at each new webbing. Ust’Ilharess Nizzre’tyne was spreading the word to all that their Queen had honored Edonil with her children. Her excitement was clearly visible and shared with all the citizens she encountered.

Yet they did not stop in Edonil for it was clear Nizzre’tyne was headed to the Temple. They all entered and were soon joined by a familiar figure that had not been seen in a long interval, Yath’abban Ilirviir’riia.

They were inside for hours. Then all whom entered departed so none were given up for sacrifice. Yet the excitement was not less if anything it was even more.

*For the cycle after the influx, upon entering the temple one would notice Isendu't'tar standing near the idol of Selvetarm. It would be noted he had no chestplate on, and a rather gruesome looking gash through his abdomen, seemingly webbed closed. He wasn't praying, he wasn't training, he was merely.. watching*

Edonil's numbers seem to swell as all over the city, the eggs of the spiders hatch. Elsewhere, a large spider and her young have taken the temple's exterior for themselves. They patrol it viciously, devouring the slaves if they dare make mistakes in their work.

Later, a boat of heretics arrives and makes an ill fated attack upon the temple from the water. Meanwhile, beyond the gates and in the tunnels, a new potential threat stays in camp, looming in the darkness out of easy reach... or perhaps... they are yet another blessing to Edonil, what some common Drow are calling now "Chel'el d' Cressen" or "City of Webs." Only time will tell.

Yath'abban Jhal'vyrae, present when all this transpired, looks to the now closed gates, where the meeting had taken place and ponders a while at the cycles happenings...

"Refugees..?". "seeking shelter?" She says quietly to herself. "Hmm. We shall see".

With that she turns and walks off towards her house and pens letters marked "Urgent" to The Ust'Ilharess, The Matron Mothers Council and her own Ilharess describing what had transpired. After they are sent she begins a vigil outside her house... In sight of the Gates to Edonil.

Dirz'ae slowly walks out of the city through the refugee drow camp. Rarely alone to enter the tunnels, her jaluk and summons walk one to each side. Carefully she takes note of the size of the camp by how deeply it sprawls into the tunnels. Of most interest to her are the spiders in their care, how well kept they appear to be filing it away to inform Jhal'vyrae as they had discussed.

According to the priestess, Alyazle, their outpost had been overcome by heretics. Odd they would arrive at the very doorstep of the city on the same night the Queens eggs hatched. The heretic attack on the city, she could attribute to the Dread Queen providing food for her young. As to the refugee drow, she did not believe in coincidences. Failure usually meant disfavor with Her, how will it affect our city to have them here?

Continuing on past the camp, she headed down to where the herbs she needed usually were found. It did not take long before the pouch was full of various herbs. As they passed back through the camp a second time, her focus was discretely on the various mages, warriors, priestesses and commoners that could be seen.

// She has been tasked with getting a sense of numbers in the refugee camp and also how well cared for the spiders have been considering rough travel through the underdark.
