Hey Folks! I'm going to be doing one of these myself, with a unique Draconic spin.

Premise:
Something stirs in Amia's Eastern Frontier. The former All Watcher's soul has passed to Kurtulmak for judgement and reincarnation, and a new All Watcher has been named. He is not one to idly allow these pesky adventurers to annihilate his kin any longer. You stand with him as a member (or guest) of this proud tribe, offering your services to the greater prosperity of the Warren.

PCs:
This will be open primarily to Kobolds and characters native to Cordor and its surrounding farms. Together, their actions will have the potential to reshape the balance of power in the Amian Frontier.

~Any Kobold characters will be required to start out as LN, LE, or NE. This is to reflect that they were born of a traditional tribe and hand picked for their understanding of traditional ideals. This -does not- mean their alignment cannot be shifted later due to IC actions. Furthermore, all Kobold characters will be natives of the Warren located in the Eastern Frontier.

~Any Cordor-based characters are encouraged to have at least 1 level of Sorcerer or Bard and be of Draconic heritage. They must also explain why this particular tribe would be interested in approaching them to assist in their goals. Keep in mind Kobolds usually eat their captives, so 'slave' is not an open and closed reason.

How to get Involved
Character concept submissions are to be PM'd to me. Character notes and plans are also encouraged, as they can be helpful to me as DM, but not required. Request format can be found here. New players are welcome. Please use "Draconic Alternate Beginnings" as the title. Acceptance will be noted by their character name and forum ID appearing in the slots below. There are presently 5 slots available.

~If you have a character that is presently involved in an Alternate Beginnings Campaign, any of Yossarin's Cordor plot arcs, or belong to a Cordor based faction, participation is discouraged, but will not flat-out be denied.~

Details:
Starting Level: 2
Range: 2-6
Keep this in mind: Cordor = Serious Mode as the same will go for this campaign.
Time: Likely to be Tuesdays after 6:30pm CST (but is subject to change)
Important:
**You will not be allowed to play your characters IG outside of the designated running time due to faction issues. That said, Forum-based Roleplay limited to the Frontier Warren and Cordor surrounds will be acceptable.**

Addition: As it has been asked a few times now in PMs, I simply wish to clarify that Merchants (any class, though bard is best suited) and Eyes of Kurtulmak (clerics of Kurtulmak) are also acceptable concepts for PC Kobolds in addition to Specialists and Soldier types.

I would actually benefit from this more by not taking up a slot for a player who hasn't played a kobold before. I trust Dustspray to provide an environment of lore-immersion that honestly, as not-a-DM, I can't really provide with only player leadership or factional roles.

If you don't get a full six people, which looks doubtful (and that makes me happy!), let me know and I'll be very happy to join in. Otherwise, I'll just wait eagerly to follow the story from the outside via the forums.

Everyone is considered, veterans and new folks alike.

Not going to be picking these based upon 'friends' or such as it is the merit of the requests that matters most. If it helps, I am paying attention to the tell tale signs of having done research on the races and customs the characters will come from.

As much as I would love to do this, your time falls upon my late night work hours, and I will be unable to attend.

I am hoping to get this rolling by the end of September, early October so feel free to take your time, do your research, and ask questions if you have any!

Anyone that's been thinking about playing a kobold, I suggest this 10,000 times.

Just a heads up, I will be out of town this weekend for the holiday so any questions/comments/Characters sent my way may not be reviewed until Monday or Tuesday.

Remember folks to get the requests in. I've received lots of PMs of interest while I've been on vacation, but very little in the way of actual character requests. :wink:

The aim will be to kick this off Tuesday, September 27th.

Anyone wishing to partake in this has until next Friday (one week from today), September 16th at 11:59 PM CST to submit their final characters requests. That will allow me time to review them, post the final list of participants, and get everything ready to go.

You all have three days. Plenty of interest, questions, and loose concepts, but not but 3 solid requests so far. Everything you need to make a formal character request has been linked to in this thread. If there are not enough people with solid requests in my PM box come Saturday morning, this will not be taking place.

PM sent, awhile ago, and if this goes ahead and if I get picked I may not be able to make the first date.

I just haven't had the time to review them fully as of yet beyond the one I have listed.

I bailed out. I got so disgrunted by the fact that it's forwned upon to pre-plan any eventual characters, even alternative beginning chars. ><

If that were true I wouldn't be asking that people have a plan. However, what you had been doing was looking for advice on a strict build-plan and were simply informed that because it might change (due to RP etc) it would be wise to not get too attached to the 'finished' level 30 product.

I am sorry you saw this as deterrent enough to pull yourself from wanting to do this.

Just wanted to say I think this is a really cool idea. I wish I could do both campaigns (although I, admittedly, have no idea how to rp a kobold). I know saying this doesn't help you get players, but I wanted to share my thoughts!

Natural Coffee here just voiced my thoughts. My heart flipped when I noticed the world "draconic" in your campaign title. Utterly awesome idea. I really hope you get enough players for it!

dusty runs awesome events, both big an small, an has an awesome way of dealing with player's, seeming the deadline is passed i hope others sent in, as TBH i hope mine is lucky enough to join >.< and if he extends the deadline... apply. it will be so much fun, i read two entire draconic books both races and draconic magic "as i never played" a kobold before, an i have to say they are way cooler than i thought.

It doesn't appear that the areas needed for this will be in by the time I wished to start. You have 1 more week. Consider it a blessing by the Devs, otherwise I would be posting that I was pulling the plug due to lack of characters.

I will be creating the character then ahead of time, fix it up mod its starting outfit etc. i CANT WAIT, an wonderful thing is i finished all my uni work and just doing exam prep, so i have a lot more time on my hands

Awesome! I am in! I cannot make this Tuesday however until 9 EST, or 8 CST time. I have a class then, after 8 CST I should be free all night after wards.

coming Tuesday, October 4th at 6:30pm CST thats like 7am tue morning for me an i already "locked" it in, if we change it please go foward an not backwards lol as i can attend later on but not any earlier than 6am.
